How I can’t eat chocolate and how that inspired my first business 🍫

- Опубліковано 14 гру 2022
- It all started in 7th grade. I didn’t even know WHAT a business was when I made my first sale. I just knew it was fun.
After filming this video and retelling my story, I now realize that my business ideas have always come from solving a problem. Back in the day it was because I had too much chocolate and didn’t know what to do with it. These days, it’s because I hate cameltoe and I wanted a pair of leggings that could get rid of it (and much much more).
Is there such a thing as an “entrepreneurial gene”? There were some interesting businesses in between Cooplex and POPFLEX (wait just realized I really like “lex’s” -weird!) and each one helped me solve an issue I had at the time. I guess my businesses are like expressions of my life chapters. WAIT. It’s like when T Swift writes a song to emote her feelings, except…I start businesses. OMG. So many realizations happening right now as I write this caption!
You know, the internet can be a really nasty place sometimes (I’ve been on the receiving end of the terrible side too many times) but it’s also brought so much happiness to my life. Posting workout videos on UA-cam connected me to you guys and then running my website on @shopify allowed me to share my designs with so many people worldwide.
I feel so lucky that I get to marry my passion with my career - I simply could not imagine my life any other way!
Do you wanna hear about my other random businesses one of these days?!

when you sell cookies to people, make money, and then the school shuts it down 🙄🙄
i did that in second grade but with slime. I made like $50

Schools need an entrepreneur class for kids to run their businesses within school guidelines. All you have to do is give a portion of sales to the school and they will open their minds.
@@cuandcre OF COURSE they'll only agree if they receive part of the money 🙄

it’s the law
I understand why though, let's say you sell your cookies and someone gets sick, then the parents ask, "What did you eat?" the kid says, "Cookies from whatever from school" then they have to do a whole search, and who gets blamed? The school for letting you sell stuff with unauthorized permission

My best friend would sell rice crispy treats and fruity pebbles treats to pay for his lunch in highschool and they got him in trouble. Then some of us talked to the principal about how he hadn’t eaten lunch for a week because he doesn’t have the money for it and the principal didn’t care at all. We ended up making a whole business directly outside of the school gates before and after school so he had the money to eat. They hated us but couldn’t do anything about it but watch lmao
Bruh I hoped that principal got fired
Best response to sucky administration ever
That principal was an asshole, one of his students was literally starving!!!
why is her voice so soothing make a podcast please💕💕💕
School tells you “we’re helping you get to college so you can start a business or whatever you want to do” but then they shut businesses down
I don't get why people think the school did the wrong thing ? What if she messed up the recipe on accident and a bunch of students got food poisoning
My friend had this bracelet business (since she would literally make rubber band bracelets all the time) she started selling them. (They weren’t like those classic rubber band bracelets they were so detailed and so pretty they took so long to do.) but anyway, she sold them for 1 dollar each and made like 40-50 dollars every 2 days. It was a really good business, the whole school would beg her for them, it got so popular that she debated on opening a kind of market thing. (Btw they weren’t just rubber band bracelets at this point they were like wire and jewels.) but the. The principle told her that kids should not be spending their money on junk (he literally said that and it made her so mad) so the business kinda just went downhill from there. She started working for a jewelry shop when she graduated but I still wonder how she would end up today if that stupid principle didn’t shut it down.

SHUT IT DOWN
Last time I checked school was NOT supposed to stifle hardworking determination that inspires the future go getters of the world.
Schools be like “we’re here to help prepare you for the future and gets career you love!” Then when someone does that before they leave school the shut it down for no reason
They don’t prepare us for the future, they make us do hours of work so that we can “be prepared for the future”

If you're a student and doing a side hustle something like this, school here and the community would be extremely supportive and proud of you. If there are rules to be followed, just follow it but they wouldn't shut you down. ❤️
Where is this community? I need to start selling my crochet stuffed animals on campus. I asked a teacher about selling stuff and she said that it didn’t matter what I sold, it was the fact that I was taking money for it, scamming other kids. DO YOU KNOW HOW LONG IT TAKES TO MAKE A STUFFY?
@@Aspen_1256 I live in Ph. Im sorry to hear that. 🙁 It's common in public schools to allow students to sell their crafts, snacks or pack lunches (small business) as long as they put disclaimers, their studies aren't affected and they ask permission from their teacher or principal. Of course, there are rules, but it's not that difficult to side hustle here since everyone knows, people are struggling financially as well.In private schools they have bazaars or most of them are allowed to advertise their products but not sell during class hours as long as it doesn't disrupt your studies.

When I was selling my jewelry in my school, my school wasn’t very happy with me and told me to stop.
Keep doing it outside of school or when u can! U can make real money!
No one gone talk abt how much candy she got on Halloween 😂😂
Guys I think the recipe is this!
COOKIES: Ingredients:
½ cup (one stick) butter, softened
1 cup light brown sugar
3 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 large egg
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
1 ½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 ½ teaspoons instant espresso coffee powder
Preparation:
Preheat the oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit.
Place the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar in the work bowl of an electric mixer fitted with a paddle attachment. Beat on medium speed for about 30 seconds, until the mixture is fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla for 30 seconds longer, until well combined.
In a mixing bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add to the mixer, while beating on slow speed., Beat for about 15 seconds, stir in the chocolate chips and espresso powder, and mix for 15 seconds longer.
Prepare a cookie sheet with about 2 tablespoons of shortening (or use a non-stick spray). Using a 1-ounce scoop, or using a 2 tablespoon measure, drop the cookie dough onto the cookie sheet in dollops about 3 inches apart.
Gently press down on the dough with the back of a spoon to spread out into 2-inch circles; there should be room on the sheet of six or eight cookies at a time.
Transfer to the oven in batches and bake for about 20 minutes or until the cookies are nicely browned around the edges. Bake for a little longer for crispier cookies.
FROSTING:
It’s a 3-1 1/2 ratio so 3(milk) and 1 1/2(powdered sugar), add more milk for a thinner frosting and more sugar for a thicker frosting. Then add some vanilla, and make your final texture adjustments.
ASSEMBLY:
while the cookies cool, put your frosting into a ziplock bag or a piping bag, once our cookies have completely cooled, start piping the frosting one to one cookie then sandwich another on top.
ENJOY!❤
TY OMG

Great strategy!! You sell cookies with a lot of calories to make them fat and then you tell them how to lose weight and at the same time you sell them the fitness clothes that you designed yourself!

similar experience, I sold my Halloween candy bc I don't like candy and I learned much more from that (how to price things, who to sell too, how much supplies cost when my original supplies dwindled) than I did at that school
