How I can’t eat chocolate and how that inspired my first business 🍫

  • It all started in 7th grade. I didn’t even know WHAT a business was when I made my first sale. I just knew it was fun.
After filming this video and retelling my story, I now realize that my business ideas have always come from solving a problem. Back in the day it was because I had too much chocolate and didn’t know what to do with it. These days, it’s because I hate cameltoe and I wanted a pair of leggings that could get rid of it (and much much more).
Is there such a thing as an “entrepreneurial gene”? There were some interesting businesses in between Cooplex and POPFLEX (wait just realized I really like “lex’s” -weird!) and each one helped me solve an issue I had at the time. I guess my businesses are like expressions of my life chapters. WAIT. It’s like when T Swift writes a song to emote her feelings, except…I start businesses. OMG. So many realizations happening right now as I write this caption!
You know, the internet can be a really nasty place sometimes (I’ve been on the receiving end of the terrible side too many times) but it’s also brought so much happiness to my life. Posting workout videos on UA-cam connected me to you guys and then running my website on ‪@shopify‬ allowed me to share my designs with so many people worldwide.
I feel so lucky that I get to marry my passion with my career - I simply could not imagine my life any other way!
Do you wanna hear about my other random businesses one of these days?!
    ❤️Cassey

My friend had this bracelet business (since she would literally make rubber band bracelets all the time) she started selling them. (They weren’t like those classic rubber band bracelets they were so detailed and so pretty they took so long to do.) but anyway, she sold them for 1 dollar each and made like 40-50 dollars every 2 days. It was a really good business, the whole school would beg her for them, it got so popular that she debated on opening a kind of market thing. (Btw they weren’t just rubber band bracelets at this point they were like wire and jewels.) but the. The principle told her that kids should not be spending their money on junk (he literally said that and it made her so mad) so the business kinda just went downhill from there. She started working for a jewelry shop when she graduated but I still wonder how she would end up today if that stupid principle didn’t shut it down.

Guys I think the recipe is this!
    COOKIES: Ingredients:
½ cup (one stick) butter, softened
    1 cup light brown sugar
    3 tablespoons granulated sugar
    1 large egg
    2 teaspoons vanilla extract
    1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
    ½ teaspoon baking soda
    ½ teaspoon baking powder
    ½ teaspoon salt
    1 ½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 ½ teaspoons instant espresso coffee powder
    Preparation:
Preheat the oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit.
Place the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar in the work bowl of an electric mixer fitted with a paddle attachment. Beat on medium speed for about 30 seconds, until the mixture is fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla for 30 seconds longer, until well combined.
In a mixing bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add to the mixer, while beating on slow speed., Beat for about 15 seconds, stir in the chocolate chips and espresso powder, and mix for 15 seconds longer.
Prepare a cookie sheet with about 2 tablespoons of shortening (or use a non-stick spray). Using a 1-ounce scoop, or using a 2 tablespoon measure, drop the cookie dough onto the cookie sheet in dollops about 3 inches apart.
Gently press down on the dough with the back of a spoon to spread out into 2-inch circles; there should be room on the sheet of six or eight cookies at a time.
Transfer to the oven in batches and bake for about 20 minutes or until the cookies are nicely browned around the edges. Bake for a little longer for crispier cookies.
    FROSTING:
It’s a 3-1 1/2 ratio so 3(milk) and 1 1/2(powdered sugar), add more milk for a thinner frosting and more sugar for a thicker frosting. Then add some vanilla, and make your final texture adjustments.
    ASSEMBLY:
while the cookies cool, put your frosting into a ziplock bag or a piping bag, once our cookies have completely cooled, start piping the frosting one to one cookie then sandwich another on top.
    ENJOY!❤
