This was originally composed and written in English by Taehyung for his mixtape, .Taehyung said he wrote this song as a way to cope when he was feeling the most low. He expresses more about it in his Weverse magazine interview. - "뷔 “저희와 아미, 우리가 또다시 웃었으면 좋겠어요” It was no secret that Taehyung was going through a difficult time when this came out. He said “I experienced a lot of burnout & know it really well. Previously, I felt burnout as it is and it was mentally difficult. Lately I have felt like I’ve experienced growth & write songs about how I feel. In the past I had a hard time… but when I write a song about the feeling of burnout, I feel a sense of accomplishment. When a song is completed, it’s a thrilling feeling. It feels like I’m overcoming it using this.” 💜

This song is one of my favorites from the BE album, right below Dis-ease. V stole the stage for me on this. Can't believe Blue and Grey was supposed to be a solo song for him only. Thank you for reacting to this. Love y'all ❤

The last lines ' now I fall asleep at dawn, good night' hits hard. One- it's so relatable. My damn anxiety which keeps me up gives me more anxiety 😂. Two - V said he was suffering from burn out. Which is where this song stems from. I remember he would stay up sometimes till 4 in the morning talking to ARMYs on weverse and a making a mess for weverse moderators (Telling them to add some new features for him. I'm pretty sure he gave away an album at one point and just said weverse staff must handle it lol ).
Also someone get Kurtis to react to Joons mixtape mono. I need a breakdown 😭.
A muster is a gathering of military troops. The BTS fan meet/concert is called a muster because it's a gathering of ARMY. Lol I hope this makes sense.

So glad y'all went. The last set, when they came back in PTD shirts, that's the encore set. They do that for every concert. I know the concert seems short but it's actually almost 3 hours long and they only get a total of under a half hour for costume changes and preps for the next set. Their concerts are bar none, the best all around ... not just the performance, but the atmosphere and the entire vibe of everyone there being inclusive and so giving and sweet. Me and my 13 year old daughter went to two concerts in LA and I couldn't make it to Vegas but I sent my daughter with my girlfriend to Vegas. I wasn't worried at all because I know the vibe is so welcoming and safe and everyone takes care of one another. That's the beauty of ARMY. So glad you guys could go. Love watching y'all.

"Blue & Grey" was written and produced by Taehyung and its success was of such magnitude that it debuted at number 13 on the Hot 100 chart and broke the record for best-selling downloads worldwide, becoming BTS's most commercially successful secondary song; undoubtedly a masterpiece made by a master musician 💚

    1) The 7 songs after they said the concert was ending was the encore. 2) it was 2 + hours long so not sure how much longer you would expect a concert to be 3) Curtis’ breakdown was on point…again! Love to hear his response always 4) Repeat on PTD…that was a funny complaint 5) we all want BST but they had a lot of other bangers.

THANK YOU LO...... Why should the American market be the end all be all. Hybe took over that Big Machine country thing.... doesn't mean BTS is thinking of going country. They could be trying to debut artists here in the US? Not every move Hybe makes has to be with BTS in mind. BTS can sell out stadiums in so many different countries, not only their home country, but not every American artist can sell out stadiums outside of the US. That's the difference.

one thing about this permission to dance concert series is that they purposefully decided to do only ot7 songs. at all of their past tours, they always had solo song spots for all of the other members to rest, however for this tour, they decided to do a greatest hits medley type of show, and all ot7, because they haven't toured in 2 years so they decided to go all out. since none of them had any rest breaks except for the vcrs, they definitely had to cut down on some of the dancing and on some songs as a whole, the set being tiring as it is.

Lol babe😭...I'm random people in Africa. I been ARMY since 2014, my country loves them. But just to note on their reach and performance ability. My 60+ year old dad bought that damn BTS Samsung Galaxy phone for himself and didn't tell me (I have it now). He also saw his two favourite artists Michael Jackson and Tina Turner live in concert back in the day. He watches the live stream BTS concert with me and BTS easily made his top three performers. I guess my point is good music is gonna reach people no matter what.
Also to African ARMY- UMG Africa said they are looking into selling BTS albums as of June. If you want details on your country email their helpdesk.

I love how BTS is so consistent in putting out amazing music, performances, mvs, lyrics etc. that we have so much confidence in, that whatever they will do there gonna bring it and kill it. Who else would have so much confidence in to be sure that the music will be great?
There's one aspect that I'm thinking about when it comes to BTS being recognized worldwide by everyone (they're already worldwide, but as you said becoming a name EVERYONE knows). I think it comes down to media. BTS is famously not trying to play by the industry "rules" - well in some aspects they are, but in a lot of ways they're bringing about a paradigm shift in the music industry. We already know music outlets and magazines and media try to down play or twist the narrative and the importance of BTS and the impact they're having. If any western acts where setting the records BTS are it would be all over the media, but they're constantly left out. E.g. when Adele set a record for most streamed song in 24 hours on yt it was everywhere in Danish news, but when BTS set that same record (with a much higher margin to the previous record holder) prior to Adele there was dead silence. This is just one tiny example out of heaps. It's difficult to say how big BTS is or could be, when there's not an even playing field. So BTS is and has been growing this big from nothing to where they are now despite everything. They were and they still are fighting against a lot, and they probably will for a long time to come. I think that's a small part of why I really wish to see them succeed as well (apart from their incredible music, the people they are and their values etc.) ... people trying to bring about fair represenation, give respect and money to the artists, don't let a few rich men dictate who get's to be played when and where, but let people have a say. And honoring the craft of music in all areas too - I've never known as much about music production, lyricism, sound mixing etc. etc. before BTS - they make me curious and give us a glimps of the proces and what it takes. Btw. have you ever seen the interview of Ken Lewis (he does a lot, but the focus here is on mixing and producing music) by another legend Pensando interviewing him. Ken Lewis did a lot of mixing for the BTS tracks - you might find it interesting? Link: ua-cam.com/video/c6RJEqJmGPk/v-deo.html
Sorry about the long rant. These are just a few thoughts that I hadn't really sorted out.

This concert might have been just slightly shorter than normal, but that's because it was all 7 songs playing throughout and most with tough choreo, so for them to be able to breathe and last all 4 concerts that had to do it like that :-)

Hey y’all Texas army here! I was also at D4 so i appreciate y’all’s perspective and conversation regarding their comeback! First off I personally didn’t expect them to do Blue and Grey live and when I heard their live vocals I was in shock and then my brain realized it’s live and i teared up cause damn they’re amazing. I also think they’re definitely going to go back to their roots just not sure what spin they’ll take yet cause they always surprise and do something new and creative but I think they definitely want to show off and kind of remind everyone where they came from. I think with their recent English tracks newer fans or new people just discovering them may think of them as pop artists but we need to remember their hip hop roots and rappers not to be taken lightly. RM definitely has stuff to say but i think he’s been holding back in light of keeping army in a positive mindset and trying to keep their image positive but some of the little things he’s been saying here and there leave me to believe that he wants to remind people who they truly are and that they’re not naive to the reality around them. I definitely agree with the point that you can’t have an album or comeback called “We are Bulletproof” and then give us themes and tracks that don’t emphasize that idea. Thanks for this video and happy y’all got to experience the concert. I can definitely say no one does it like BTS and it’s definitely one of the best experiences I’ve had in my life thus far! 💜

aw Curt! i loved hearing your thoughts, so happy you felt all the emotions we usually feel when we see bts in concert 💜 im glad you all had a great time ! I understand what Lo means of expecting "I need U" because they did perform that song for the LA Dates, also... about the Encore, yes the Vegas shows were cut short, not sure why. For LA we got maybe 2-4 more songs, i remember they sang Spring Day, Young Forever and We are Bulletproof; The Enternal. They also had Baepsae, but like i said i dont know why they cut those off for the Vegas shows... maybe they will explain in the future.

Love Blue & Grey, Taehyung really captured that feeling that we’ve all felt and some of us have felt much more intensely over the past two years. It’s a beautiful song, beautifully performed live. I’ve now been to both the LA and LV concerts and both experiences were insane and the best concert experiences I’ve ever had. Part of it is definitely Army. They are an amazing fan base and it shows so much at these concerts. Helpful, patient (in the face of some pretty messed up stuff at Sofi), full of enthusiasm and happiness, and giving the energy back to BTS to get them hyped up as well. I think the LV one was better than Sofi because it came after the Seoul one that was so difficult for BTS without the audience able to cheer like they had hoped. Regardless, they were both amazing and I will do everything I can to go to another one as soon as possible.

There's a theory that is them reimagining No More Dream to Dream. Watch the end of On MV.

Suga helped Tae with the lyrics. I heard that Namjoon also wrote lyrics for it but he said his was rejected and Suga’s lyrics were accepted. As for the album Yoongi did say there will be a hip-hop albam coming but maybe they would change idk. As for the we are bulletproof part is that that's their name bangtan they hated their name in the beginning so now they are embracing it by putting it as the album name.
Also there are 3 we are bulletproof songs if you heard the one on MOTS7 it's more of a balad than rap so I don't really now what it will be like but one thing for sure BTS will always have atleast one help song and one criticism song whether its for haters and/or government in every album constantly usually the other songs follow one of these two directions.

ok so this is what i think for my guess as to what the album might sound like: i think it'll be hiphop heavy...they'll probably fuse it w/ other genres, but the majority i think will be hiphop. I'm saying this bc of the clues we've gotten. Yoongi saying to look forward to more hiphop soon, TM88 posting on twt in 2021 saying he's working on some songs for them, the snoop collab...also the "we are bulletproof" & joon talking abt going back to their roots. BUT i also think there might be some rock in there, and like i said they'll def do fusion w/ other genres too...like obviously they genre hop so yeah, i think it'll be a masterpiece honestly. i'm so excited! but thank you for the reaction and convos, glad u all had a good time :)

BTS, became the only act to top IFPI's Global Recording Artist of the Year, ranking for 2, consecutive years 2020 & 2021. They beat out artist like Taylor Swift, Adele, Drake etc... etc...

This song came out during the pandemic era and is part of the BE album. It will always be one of my comfort songs of that time. I also hear it time and time again whenever I feel myself the most down or feel like giving up. I also had the chance to see them during the last show in Vegas. (My city) The experience felt like family (army) getting together to have the best time of our lives! It didn't even feel like just a concert, even with like more than 200,000 people filling up the stadium. The energy felt in that stadium was so extravagant that I can still feel it in my spirit! So glad ya'll got the same chance to see them too! I hope we get to attend more in the future

This song made me cry the first time I heard it. Without even looking at the lyrics and only listening to them alone, the line "I just wanna be happier" really hit home for me. Mainly because this came out in 2020 and there was so much going on with the pandemic, and my grandmother was bedbound when the album came out. She made it a year before she passed away and now this song just comforts me whenever I feel sad. Their music has always made me feel things, but something about this album was the perfect timing. It really brought me out of my slump. 💜💜

Comeback: We been getting hints everywhere but it wasn’t until recently when ARMYs started noticing it (it’s even on the “Permission To Dance”-teaser!! Look at title of the cover n when the newspaper was dated. The comeback date, “volume” is 6 letters.) There is also talks about they’ll take a walk down memory lane (9 doors on each side of the BTS comeback logo, 9 years since debut) and that this comeback will give us an even more intimate access (musically, lyrically) to BTS “We Are Bulletproof” = “We Are Bangtan” and so forth.
Concert: Normally - they’d get breaks in-between performances thanks to the other famous subunit/solo songs that’d be performed. This one, because PTD was their first time performing to ARMYs after such a long time, they wanted to be on stage, together, w ARMYs, as much as possible.
I’m so happy you got to go to PTD LV n that ARMYs were nice to you 💜

finally got around to watching the rest of the video, i always love your discussions so i want to listen well. imo, "we are bulletproof" could, but does not necessarily mean primarily hip hop and angst from the past. they released "we are bulletproof: the eternal" on mots:7 and it's not angsty at all melodically. it's quite a soft, mellow song which surprised everyone when it dropped, but it tells me that the new album name just means, this is us. they can still drop anything on us. scary hours.

Appreciate the in depth discussions as always. Personally, I don't think BTS need to do anything to appeal more to the Western market. Nor should they. The whole last 2 years of their career was totally unexpected to them. They never would have released 'BE' or their 3 English singles had it not been for covid. The English singles were a departure for them, and they probably weren't all comfortable with it. However, they absolutely reaped rewards from those songs. Now I think they are in a position where, they have people's attention more than ever. They can do *whatever* they want. I think the new album will be them at their peak. I suspect there will be at least 1 English single. But, maybe it will be be edgier? I definitely have high expectations for the album though, and I'm prepared to be amazed!

As always, loved your discussion. Love to hear your take on the subject of music.
I've lived all over the world, and I know that some of the artists you were mentioning as world-renowned are really not very well known "out there". Even in Britain, not all US acts get a lot of recognition. I feel like BTS has reached a stage where they can truly go any place and fill up a stadium, which is about as high as you can get.
I would love for them to go back to their roots, producing more stuff in Korean, their native tongue. The songs they write themselves have always touched me the most. By now, though, I've come to trust their musical instincts and am willing to follow them wherever they lead.
As a final note, having ARMY is much better than having some nebulous general public knowing about you. Butts in seats and money spent will give you longevity. The general public doesn't pay the bills. Acts that cultivate a loyal fanbase continue to tour and put out music. Acts that reach the general public fade away when said public loses interest.

One music genre or niche that BTS has not done much of, or rarely, is rock & metal music. There have been some BTS youtube reactions by metal/rock channels over the years, but it seems like few & far between. I could be wrong, my memory is hazy. But one thing though that I have heard over the same years is that if BTS might do some more rock & metal elements in their music, the metal/rock community, both musicians & fans, will have their ears perk up. Imagine that, the fans of that genre of music is still a big amount today, even though some have been saying that rock & metal music is a dying art. But if BTS will do a little bit more of that genre, they could garner more fans from that community. I mean they probably have fans from that sector already, just not enough to make a bigger ARMY. I can understand that BTS is more hip-hop centric, but they can always do some form of music fusion of hiphop & rock, such as in the style of rap-rock. Sure, they may have done a few tracks like that, but just rarely. One notable track that they have done metal is with a collab by the "Father of KPop", that being the famous Korean artist Seo Taiji. Without Taiji, the KPop industry would not have begun & exist today. There would be no BTS, no Blackpink, no Jessi or Dreamcatcher, TXT or 1Tyme or HOT, no BigHit, YG, SM, etc etc. Seo Taiji is first & foremost a rock/metal musician, yet he ushered in KPop with hiphop. That is the irony. Think about that. KPop was started by a metal musician, yet the whole of KPop is hiphop & R&B, simply because Taiji is an experimenter & formed a hiphop group, when it was needed. Thus, it was fate. Anyway, if you want Korean rock, then you go into K-Rock. I don't know if you watched Seo Taiji's Time Traveler 25 concert from 2017. It features BTS in some of their performances. If you can, please react to Taiji x BTS Live collab song "Classroom Idea", which is very metal. There are some video snippets of it from the concert. If you want, you can also react to the whole concert, which is 2 1/2 hours long. Or watch on your own time. Taiji's music is diverse. He can go hard one song & then very mellow the next. The only issue with Taiji's videos is there are no English subtitles. Taiji has also passed the virtual torch directly to BTS, not just because of the latter's success, but because of their social commentary in their songs, simply because it was Taiji who started that 3 decades ago, by talking about the issues & problems in SK back when it was censored & hush-hush. Perhaps you can also add Seo Taiji to your reactions. You can also react to his songs such as "Feel the Soul" MV, "Internet War" MV, "Come Back Home" original & BTS-cover, etc. Any questions, just let me know.

They're probably not going to go into a more "healing" direction next, because that's part of their brand, but they did that with BE and the English singles... And BTS always switches things up between eras. BE/Dynamite/Butter era is over, they are going to pick a different sound now. So, not a chill/sentimental or a super cheerful/party sound... However, whether the next album is going to be "hiphop driven" or more agressive, that's an entirely different discussion. In terms of sound, they are probably going to keep including a wide variety of music genres in the next project (specially with the solo/unit songs), because this has allowed the members to express their different music tastes and individuality, and they seem to appreciate that. The big question is what's the theme/concept of the album, since each album has a key word. Most likely, the title track name is going to be the biggest hint of THAT/the theme of the entire album. In relation to "bulletproof", that doesn't say much, I mean... We Are Bulletproof pt 2 and We Are Bulletproof: The Eternal both are songs with that word, and one is agressive, while the other is sentimental... So, yeah, they could do anything. Something that may be an indicator is this: BTS tend to be mindful of the music trends that are growing, so they will probably incorporate whatever style is starting to become more mainstream in the near future... And what someone said about them not wanting to do more angry diss-tracks is true, also true they're doing more swagy/satirical diss-tracks... But it's also true that anger is not the only agressive emotion. What else? I do think the next album is gonna be more narrative driven, like, narrating personal stories rather than super universal themes. That's my only guess.
