I think Adam bailed on this one because of the Matt Murray talk. Remember when the leafs should have signed him!? Poor Adam, that take would have made me sick aswell! Lol
I like hearing more of Jesse! We want more Jesse! I love his conversation and he's a great personality, watched some of the NHL22 rebuild of the Buffalo sabres and he was so funny.
I'm maddest about Bergevin's determined campaigns against both PK and Max, and he managed to make half of the fans believe that PK was a terrible person and he did it with dog whistles. PK was every young Habs fan's favourite player and he just zapped them. PK put more asses in the seats than Bergevin and Therrien combined.
Totally agree with you. He did that to multiple players after they left town. "Leaked" stories to the press to ruin players' reputations was a disgusting tactic. PK wasn't a problem in Nashville and he's doing well in NJ. The whole PK is a cancer in the dressing room narrative is total bullshit. Several members of the Montreal media went along with that story. I blame them too.
@@lizardking89 To be fair, just because you grow up doesn't mean you weren't immature before. He very well could have matured after the trade with time and a new market with less pressure.

The Dragon Ball Z reference about the Stanley Cup finals being between Sub villains and lesser Z Fighters is spot on. Definitely more than 5% of us understand this reference
It also shouldn’t be lost that Gorton should be given almost all the credit for the Boston cup in 2011 and their 10+ years of success. In his time as interim GM before Chia took over, he ran the 2006 draft, netting the B’s Kessel, Marchand and Lucic. He made the Rask trade that haunts us Leafers to this day, and then he signed Chara and Savard in FA. That’s an outrageous resume and it was only THREE MONTHS.
@@dillon6320 I do however think this is the best way to go about things in quebec market, having a guy for the hockey and then a guy that speaks french for the media. Otherwise you limit yourself too much. Some habs fans would get so mad and it would blow up in his face
as a NYR fan, i can confidently say JG will be great for the Habs. He has a great eye for talent and understands how a team should be built. Seriously a great hire
Dont know if it's because there was no Adam, or because they spent most of the podcast talking about actual hockey things, but this was the best episode in a really long time
Great story from Tiger Williams: Money from player fines and suspensions goes into a fund for former NHL players that don't get a great pension. Said the Kane suspension will really help the fund since it'll be a high amount. The sad note is that many are needing it just to buy groceries and essentials.
Going back to look a point totals doesnt at all paint how the elc played out. He was a middle six winger that won the calder playing out of position. He broke his foot at the end of the 2nd year and the 3rd year was his first real season as a NHL center and he got injured that year as well. Sakic knew exactly what he was doing by singing the lengthy deal. Year two into the extension is the 2nd year for Bednar to instill his system, the year the Duchene ordeal was over and done with, ROR and Stastny were gone by then and he got all 1st line situations. When given the opportunity with the teams best players he took off. The first year of his extension is a wash that year was absurd to watch the entire team was awful that season
@@Nathanielhiggerson66 I wasn't saying anything about how much he deserved to make I was adding context to the points on Mackinnon being a lesser player cause he wasn't in the same situation he is in now. The giant check was when Jesse wanted to go to Nashville for the playoffs too, listeners chipped in more than enough, and since PK was a Pred, you guys decided to donate the extra to the hospital.
Why is there still no talk about Marc Bergevin and his time as Director of Player Personnel during when the Blackhawks won the cup? I've never heard people actually discuss anything further than saying it would be weird if he didn't know what was going on.
Important stuff first, obviously you should drive without jacket on. With jacket on the belt don't sit tight so in a potential crash the belt has a risk of seriously injuring you and also fatally.
Do you guys have a lot of snow down there? I live in central Alberta and we literally have no snow and have only had it a couple times this year but it’s gone after a day

Matt Murray has always been too proud for his own good. In Brock Boeser's rookie season he sniped 3 goals on Murray with no traffic in front of him in Pittsburgh, and he said dead serious "he just got lucky". He was so butthurt.
Perhaps the preposition 'on' preceding the word accident is what causes people to use the phrase on accident instead of by accident. ... Whereas, 'by accident' is the only correct phrase to use when indicating an unintentional or accidentally carried-out action.
Murray was behind a great D crew when he played in Pitt. He got the net because of an injury, and only kept the net even after his many many injuries because Sullivan coached him in the minors and they had history. Once the Pitt D started getting revamped after the cups, and the team stopped playing solid D, he was left out to dry often which greatly spotlighted that he wasn't the elite goaltender that many thought that he was.
The Leafs are 16-6 and are cup contenders in spite of their playoff record. Oilers are 15-5 and "haven't shown it" because of their playoff record. Gotcha.
Berg is also the reason teams can do a unconditional waivers for contract termination. The first day he got hired he said Gomez and his 8 millions would sit the rest of his contract because he couldn't buy him out so he said alright he sits. The league then gave permissions to terminate contracts

Dangle is out to lunch, I would say the Subban trade's reaction was about 50-50. Because PK was not the spectacular player he had been before with the big hits and the spectacular plays, he had become unshowy guy. But the last year he was with the Habs, he kept making mistakes and it was maddening to see. And he never asked for 9 million. The issue was PK wanted a long term deal at 6 million. But Bergevin was less than confident on him(which was frankly stupid) so he got a bridge deal for 2.5/per I believe for 3 years. And then he became amazing and he was given 9 million because he was worth it. But then at some point his whole play started to regress big time and his NTC was about to kick in during the summer and so MB went into a frenzy trying to trade him at the draft and got Weber. Who was the opposite ofPK, a calming presence of leadership that they needed. As far as Pacioretty, the majority of fans wanted him gone. And I'm glad MB realised that his time in Montreal was over.
I waited outside of the Sharks practice facility once to try to catch a glimpse of Joe Thornton coming out of the building, maybe get an autograph. He must have slipped out a side door to avoid the crowds, because we never ended up seeing him. Definitely a private guy, which is why I was a bit surprised when he went to Toronto

Subban had a no trade clause. It just didn't activate until July 1st and Subban was traded the day prior.
And I believe since when he was traded the clause was not activated yet, Nashville didnt have to honour it
