I'm no expert on the CDG solitaire rules but my interpretation is "maintain facing" is leave the card face-down just as it was in the draw deck. The phrase "keep face up" is used in other categories which is an obvious definition, and I assume the opposite. Maybe "maintain facing" is just a poor choice of words?
I believe "maintain facing" is the wording because the draw pile is in space C, and the top card can be turned face-up. Therefore, if you have to replenish from the draw pile and the top card is face-up, it will stay that way, but if it is face-down it will stay face-down.
1:15:46 You take German reinforcements and put the Army on the map...but the 2 corps in reserve box? could the 2 corps not have been set on the map, or is corps always set in the reserve box?
Good question; above material has 2 hours, covers only first 3 Turns, but focuses also on explaining all the rules. I believe you could finish it in 4-5 hours.
'Maintain facing' means to maintain a card's face-up or face-down orientation, so if taking a card from the draw pile, you place it face down.

I admit, I had some confusion here and trying to interpret this as best as I can. You are probably right in your approach!

Did you forget to include the fort strength in Belgrade?
Indeed I might in the heat of the battle; but if that happened, usually in my games I am not correcting what already happened.
Thanks, never played this one but looks pretty interesting :)
Yes, tons of decisions to make and never-ending dillema of playing operations vs events.

When put as reinforcements, they go to reserve box. You can use Strategic Redeployment to move them from Reserve Box.
@@mk20336 ok, thx for the answer and video 🙂
@@flot2107 Sure, my pleasure!
How long did the entire solo game last?

Is this 2nd edition?
This is deluxe edition - new map added on the back of old one with new graphics and some VPs changes.
