I may be mistaken here, but are the blood katanas only to be shot forward toward the enemy? I completely do not follow the player's strategy here. Why is the player changing to the phantom so early in the cycle?

This dude just with his 1st stage score equaled my overall full play through personal best(give or take a few thousand)for the whole game,I SUCK & nvr even knew it!😞☹️😢😩😭 This is my no1 favourite CAVE shmup & that is no small praise!My 3rd favourite shmup of all time,after Radiant Silvergun & Ikaruga!A truly AMAZING game!
I know asking this is weird but... how tf is that ship able to float at 27:52 ? I can accept that the bosses can summon and control the ships/planes, but who tf controls this ship?
I love the game since its 360 release and i never managed to do the same energy suddent refill as the very first in stage 1of this video. 0:28 I assume the player power shots and destroys the plane close when it shoots red lasers, but doing so, i only get a tiny amount of energy. I dont really need that much for next forging phase but i'd really like to know how this suddent refill really happened. INCREDIBLE optimisation !
That True Last Boss's first attack reminds me a lot of the helicopter game lol. By the way, is it just because this guy is so skilled at collecting the pick-ups that he can use that knife attack almost all the time? it looks like a lot of the game is being trivialized because he's clearing almost every huge concentration of bullets without having to dodge -- I guess I'm used to having to dodge nearly everything in games like Touhou and Mushihimesama Futari. Is it as overpowered as it looks?
@xEchoAlertx Takes a lot of practice especially with the unorthodox ship he's using. You have to make sure you get close to enemies to net steel and katanas faster. That means you need to know the upcoming bullet patterns like you know how to breathe.

Yeah, I wasn’t sure what they were waiting for there. They could have slipped back to the front during the pause in the bullets before that, or fired the katanas downward and gotten a decent amount from that, but they waited way too long. Still a WR, but a ton of room to improve.
I should stop watching theese videos...When I got the 100M achievement at the 3rd stage I thought I was good, but this player doubled that record at the very first stage
You didn't find Climax and Original to be easier? I will say it's a game that will totally stomp you if you play it like a normal shmup and don't take the time into learning how to score and use your specials effectively.
When Yakuza goes to Xbox, Akai Katana and Otomedius G Excellent will hit Playstation. There is pretty much no reason to keep third party games like Yakuza exclusive.
all those background animations would of killed me at least 100 times before end of stage one. i can't understand how this is a game, a game is meant to be fun..
looks better than deathsmiles. is it? Love the options ala gradius 5. The whole bullet canceling / sucking in medals cave-spiel has outlived its usefulness. Guwange, Progear and Ketsui were all a blast. After that I believe its just there to distract us from the fact that the gameplay fundamentals are essentially those of dodonpachi. shame really.
+Bradley Hoevel Deathsmiles is the best Cave game man. Maybe a bit noob-friendly but that doesn't have to be a bad thing. Obviously just my subjective opinion. The powered up thing in Deathsmiles collecting all the gold skulls for the entire stage is so much fun. Then insta-recharge and start collecting the gold skulls again!
+Iso Tonik I was top of the PAL Deathsmiles board with Windia for like 1 year.. then some asshole came along and totally blew my score away. I'm still pissed off coz I'm never gonna be able to beat his score. No hope in hell. What a bastard.

The Type-3 Yaezakura looks resemblance to United States' WW2 plane, P-38 Lightning or P-61 Black Widow.
