  • If you aren’t living your life to the fullest because of hearing loss, visit: bit.ly/2KbXW6w, to learn how cochlear implants could be a solution for you or your spouse.
Before getting Cochlear implants, people would ask Carol if Gary was angry or sick when they were at social gatherings. Instead of pretending to follow along in conversations, Gary didn’t say anything at all and isolated himself. Carol only told Gary what he absolutely needed to know because it was becoming so hard for him to understand her.
After receiving Cochlear implants, Carol got her guy back. They feel more connected to each other and their relationship is stronger now than it has been for years.
Now that Gary has treated his hearing loss, he fell in love with music again and got ‘his heart back.’ Carol and Gary enjoy going to jazz festivals, and Gary can jam out to his Beach Boys CD that drives Carol crazy.
Gary and Carol are back to a healthy relationship where they have conversations and can laugh about the little things. Thanks to his Cochlear implant, Gary and Carol look forward to happy, laughter-filled future together.

Such good information with these videos! My husband's hearing loss started in his early 40s...it took years before I realized that he was starting to have some hearing loss b/c you don't expect it when someone is in his 40s. Our marriage was suffering b/c of it. And it took me several more years to convince him to have his hearing evaluated...he kept saying his hearing was fine. I had just gotten to such a high level of frustration that I gave him an ultimatum one day...see an audiologist or our marriage won't last this...he was in his late 50s by this point.. When he finally went to an audiologist, he was told that he had the equivalent hearing of a 90 year old man! He got hearing aids and they helped a bit but not significantly. Then came the 'fights' with him getting into the habit of PUTTING his hearing aids in...he always had an excuse why they weren't in. After several more years of him asking me at least 3 times what I just said, completely not understanding what I just said, relying on me to tell him what someone just said, staring at me when I said something instead of telling me he didn't hear me or avoiding conversation and withdrawing when he saw my frustration level, were are in a rut again. He is now in his late 60s....honestly, this has severely affected our relationship. In fact, even with his new hearing aids (about 2 years old), the improvement in hearing is minimal.
I am so glad though, that I stumbled upon these videos...perhaps he would be a candidate for cochlear implants. More information on how he can pursue this option...we are in Southern California. thank you
