Love watching you bank fish as it is more fun for us bank fishers to see you going through the struggles we go through. 😅. These videos motivate me to get out and fish!
Try to find a pond in the wilderness in a very remote area, the more hidden and isolated the better. The bass there have probably never seen a lure in their lives and will hit anything. I love finding hidden ponds in wildlife management areas(hunting grounds) here in Georgia.
Question. If your natural preference to set the hook is toward your right, but you're working the bank counter clockwise, couldn't you cast to your left, or "behind" your direction of travel so you could set the hook to your right? Thanks in advance for an answer, and thanks for the years of content.
Being primarily a pond bank fisher myself, the biggest issue with this is how easily bass spook away from the bank when you walk along the edge.
You always want to throw to water before you walk by it. I even make casts from further away from the water edge before I walk up to my first spot.
I can’t count the times I approached the water edge before I learned better and watched fish scoot off for deeper water. That is the biggest reason that I won’t “throw behind me” most of the time.
Yes, Darkhorse has the right answer here. You don’t want to fish the area you just walked by.
Dude, how blessed are you to film the after the cast? I love that group. You must’ve had a blast!
It is a blast! Taylor does a great job, but he had to head home early so I got to film AJ’s and ATC at the same time 😂
@@TylersReelFishingyou do a wonderful job of directing and producing for the three amigos and AJ. They are blessed to have your skills and creativity.
Love the pond break down, very helpful!
Hate to say it but “After the cast” may be my new favorite channel. Just enjoy seeing them being themselves.
They definitely have a blast! I love getting to “approve” the final edit 👍🏼
@@TylersReelFishing You're doing a great job directing and producing that series. Everything you touch turns to gold lately.
That creepy doll made me think of Ben Milliken hahahaha 😂
He tied a headless doll onto his boat (I think the trolling motor) while fishing BASS Stage 5 at Lake Murray in SC. It was supposed to bring him good luck. I think it was his friend’s Cole’s. It was terrifying 😂

Great video looked like had some bad luck with the thunder cricket but you pulled it off and caught some bass and catfish witch was fun seeing catch it like that enjoyed the video thank you
Got back from fishing just to sit and watch other people fish 😅 wore them out on the chatter this morning too 👌
This was a good video Tyler. Your struggles in this video are relatable to me. It shows that even as a professional, fishing from the bank has its issues.
Hardly ever do you find a bank fishing location that is void of problems!😂
@@TylersReelFishing Thanks for all the great videos you make. When I first back into fishing last year (I hadn't fished but once in 20+ years) your channel was one of the first ones I came across. You were teaching how to throw and retrieve different baits for your beginner tackle box you had built in a prevous video and it was a great help. I went out and picked up the Tailored Tackle Bass fishing kit and got to work, catching 4 on a texas rig. It would be pretty cool if you released a all in one beginners bass kit.
My GoPro overheats too. I have a hero 10 black. I found if I set it to tripod mode it doesn’t overheat nearly as bad but it doesn’t have the best settings when you use it on tripod mode. Still makes a pretty good video though.
Chucky's brother 😆🤣
Tyler better not have showed that to Hannah and Brooks. They both would've freaked out.
"Down the middle and in the crack". LOL
2 surprises today my shirt is on the way and a new video is out Gonna be a good day today.
If your in Va check out locust shade park in northern Va it’s a pond next to the marine Corps museum
I was fihsing yesterday this pond has spotted bass and water is pretty shallow all around less then 12 in the middle, they blowup in the middle i had 4 good blowups using a walking dog, what do you do when you see bass blowing up topwater i tried a hula popper, buzzbait but nothing worked till i went to a walking bait.
Glad u thought us bank anglers. Maybe now I’ll actually catch something 😂
Baby found at pond. Police called. LOL
Can’t believe I missed you being in Virginia how can someone keep up with your tour locations??? Would’ve been cool fishing with you and picking your brain for some methods. I’m new to the sport and trying to get my sons into it.
You should fish hickory log resivior in canton ga or lake Lanier
Just joined the membership! hopefully gonna go fish a river i found tmro, had no luck up in Algonquin and lost my vibrating jig last cast of the weekend :(
I feel the heat thru the video. It's a chore keeping positive when there's no bites and sweat dripping down your back. Way to push thru.
I was wondering if he did any Virginia fishing and then he said that's where he was 😂😂
Should come to WV MAN LOVE THE PODCAST THANKS
You sound like me last weekend fishing this freeway pond lol I was dripping sweat after 5 casts, granted I’m in FL not Virginia
Tyler is the best fisherman on UA-cam🤷
Mannnn I love Tyler but in my opinion nobody beats Roland Martian. You take alway the electronics from any of the new guys including AJ, Rolland Martian would walk the dog on these boys no disrespect to anyone I watch and follow every channel mentioned but there’s a skill difference to be seen and I’m sure Tyler could agree!
Mike, I’m sure you are a bit older, which explains your being a fan of Roland. But even if you took the electronics away from AJ, he would run circles around Roland. I have traveled with him for five years, I know his skill level, with or without live scope. It’s absolutely immense
@@Jon_Ray ohhh I most definitely did!! There’s nobody in a race with Roland he knows what the fish are doing before the fish do it. I haven’t watched another angler as in tune with the water and weather as Roland is! At 80 years old you definitely have some experience and tricks on the competition. He can pull tricks outta the hat he was using when these boys were still in their daddy’s nuts
Just curious how you avoid tennis elbow, or fishing in our case. Mine is pretty sore from casting, i assume.
I’ll answer that question in 10 years when I start to get it😂 Ain’t had that problem yet
Number 6 for the win
If anybody knows the answer that would be helpful but does he have any river fishing smallmouth vids love the channel and was hoping to watch him fish similar to me lol

Love your channel , im from Virginia, I would love to get the chance to fish with you one day , I’ve emailed you about it but you never responded after I dropped a pin on my farm pond, be a dream come true if I ever got to fish with you on my childhood farm pond or any body of water actually.
How do you know these places are open to the public? I can never find info on places like that unless it's owned by the state or in a park or something. Like the golf course pond. I'm pretty sure I'd get the boot or threatened with arrest or something
I’ve fished hundreds of ponds that aren’t “open to the public”, and only been kicked out a handful of times. People like to see people fishing, you’re fine
Unless there are no fishing/trespassing signs, the worse they can do is ask you to leave
At some point very few will be able to afford a boat. And the damned truck to pull it.
Just remember bidenomics is working folks (by the way for context this is a sarcastic joke)
Where’s the pond? Location info is helpful. Thanks
@@2713walker He said he was in Virginia on the MLF tour, so somewhere near Richmond, I would assume. He never tells us exactly where he is otherwise people wouldn't send him their pins.
Dude my son and I spent 6 hrs at a pond yesterday throwing black/blue and white thunder cricket. We caught two snapping turtles, two soft shells and I missed the hook set on about four other fish/turtles🤦🏾😤.
Why are the dang turtles grabbing the cricket instead of ANY fish? Idc what fish it is, just anything other than stinkin turtles.
I have never caught a fish on a chatterbait. I don't know what it is as I have tried so many different retrieves. Weightless worms, dropshot, spinnerbaits, jerkbaits, whopper ploppers and swimbaits are my confidence baits. I really struggle with jigs and frogs too.
@@Metallion1979I have fished chatterbaits off and on for a few years and have yet to bank one on it. Before earlier this week I had never even gotten a bite on a chatterbait.
I ran across a video last week where a guy was working them more like a jig. One day this week I threw a chatterbait and got four hits on it, working it like hopping a jig.
Two felt like crappie or tiny dinks nipping the trailer. The other two were solid hits. Missed the hook set on both, but was excited to finally get bit on a chatterbait.
I can’t remember what channel the video was on or I would tell you. Basically, I was throwing it, letting it sink to bottom, and then doing a couple of hops. Best way I know to describe it would be a short upward rod pump, just enough to start the blade, followed by a super short pause, and then a bit longer pump. After each hop sequence I would let it sink back to the bottom, pause for a couple seconds, and repeat.
I’d say I was moving the bait maybe three or four feet each hop sequence.
Prior to this week I primarily used a cast and reel technique, like with a spinner bait, using reel bumps and rod twitches to add random action to the retrieve. Again, never even got hit doing that.
@@TylersReelFishing dude I need a freaking GoPro! I have “landed” some very unusual animals/ items this summer, excluding the main things I was trying to catch lol. If anyone has an old GoPro they wouldn’t mind donating, that would be awesome!
@@TylersReelFishingI’ve caught a couple turtles on hook and line one on artificial bait
Have you ever fished in Delaware?
@@TylersReelFishing oh gotcha, there's some good fishing in kent and Sussex counties.. Griffith lake and blaire pond are nice. 12 pounder was caught in wagomans pond in Milton.
Let's face it we all clicked/watched this video for the title/thumbnail 😂🤣anyways joke's aside a few months back in May of this year me and my family went to Tennessee for our family vacation and one day it had rained all day and maybe through the night as well? But the next day the weather would be right for creek/river fishing so I went onto the FishAngler App (amazing app by the way) and I was asking for what color lures would be good after it had rained at rivers/creeks and the answer I received was not only true but it was an amazing mind blowing answer silver or white color lures so the next day we went fishing and I used a Worden's Original Rooster Tail Gray Minnow color single hook and OMG it was candy to the fish I've never caught that many fish before on vacation especially in Tennessee and I even almost had a new personal best rainbow trout but it broke off my line and took my lure to it's family 😭 but I'm well prepared for next time and also after we left another angler went to the spot I was at cause I caught more fish than him and anyone else there 😂 and before that happened a Tennessee sheriff popped by just to have a look of what was going on he was super nice so my point is that Tyler is right about that the color white is sometimes an overpowered lure color.
Love this series, especially when you show crappy, over pressured ponds! I'm in the Chicago suburbs, and that's pretty much all we have - muddy, silty, overgrown, and over fished. Come up here for a real challenge, I'd be glad to give you a tour. 😁
Definitely gotta challenge myself haha!
