These series are so good and Pastor Skip is such a blessing, thank you LORD for having found these teachings, Glory be to God forever and ever!! Watching on 1-31-2024, from Costa Rica
What a great sermon! I enjoy following your UA-cam videos that cover the chapters that we are covering in our Monday night Bible study session. I have always read the New Testament and stayed away from the Old Testament because it seemed boring to me. However, my Bible study session Has gotten me heavily involved in the Old Testament due to the livelihood of how the pastor and members cover it. In addition, I tend to prepare for my Monday night, Bible study session by looking at your UA-cam videos, and you do an awesome job of preparing me for it, and learning about the word. Thank you very much Pastor Skip Heitzig!
I AM SO ADDICTED TO SKIP'S TEACHING OF GOD'S WORD. TODAY IS 28/5/2023- PENTECOST SUNDAY IN MELBOURNE AUSTRALIA. SO GOOD. THIS TEACHING IS SO SO GOOD. THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS YOU AND MORE ABUNDANTLY FOR POSTING THIS TEACHING FROM GENESIS TO REVELATION AND IT'S LINE UPON LINE... HALLELUAH
Thank you Ps Skip for the teaching and the laughs 😅. I really enjoy your verse by verse expounding of God's word. God bless you and everyone involved in making these videos available. Many, many thanks. ❤
Thank you so much Pastor Skip, that cleared up a lot of things that were muddled in my head. I now understand this chapter. Thank you again, look forward to listening to 17 tomorrow!
Chapter 16 shows that God’s judgements on rebellion can be swift and severe and can take many forms - the earth opening up, a consuming fire, a devastating plague. The plague at the end of the chapter apparently was of such a horrific type that in the time that it took Aaron to run into the crowd with the atoning incense 14,700 had already died!
“Remember the leaks, and the meat and the onions”? -that we didn’t get any??? “Awesome”. Wow. Great metaphors. Thank you for the accessibility to Your word Lord.
Hi Pastor Heitzig, Unless our Bible say different things, v. 35 if Numbers 16 in KJV, N I V says that the 250 men were consumed by fire. I’ve always trusted the content of your preaching but this message tells me that I’m going to have to fact check what you say from here on out. Having said this, I want you to know that I do enjoy hearing your sermons. A faithful listener
I think it was just a little slip up on Skip's part. Good that you picked it up and thanks for mentioning it because I didn't notice until I checked what you said. Just shows we always have to read thoroughly for ourselves as anyone (even this amazing teacher, Skip) can slip up here and there.
Good teaching and thank you for sharing the bread of life for the people of God. God bless and do continue in the work of the Lord. -B (Btw, I subscribed to your channel as well).
Hi Pastor Heitzig, I know this is an old sermon, but your intro about the 250 men being swallowed by the earth is incorrect. Those 250 men were consumed by fire and only Dathan, Abiram, their families, and all their possessions were swallowed by the earth. A Faithful Listener
I’m very confused, I thought it was two separate rebellions, concurrently, Korah and 250 levites ( killed by fire) and the Reubenites, swallowed up…then a separate third rebellion of the people punished by a plague?
You are not confused. Korrah his whole family tent, Datham his whole family and tent, Abiram his whole household tent got swallowed up. Then the 250 followers that had their censors were burned up, and then the plague that took up 14,700 of grumblers. The 250 were NOT swallowed up. They were burned. This is why we need to read the Bible for ourselves. And read it slow. Hope that helps.
Quick question! Why does Skip assume that Dathan, Abiram and the sons of Eliab were talking about Egypt in verse 13? If you read the proceeding chapters (especially 14) could it not be said they were referring to Moses leading them back into the wilderness because of their unbelief.
It was about Egypt because to them where they came from was like that to them compared to what there going through now basically like they said before they would rather be back in Egypt then be somewhere where they aren't even in the land that they were promised
The "fear" (not as in being scared of but rather being in awe of) of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. It is only those who have ears but do not hear and those who have eyes but do not see that fail to understand the truth of God's Holy Word.

0:37 Wow! This chapter read like a Cecil B Demille movie.

How can anybody believe this???

I didn't appreciate the Moses joke. I have sense of humour. Do not mock any of God's elect. I reproof you. I love you.
