An update for anybody trying this.. Reicast is now flycast and it uses MAME roms. Not the bin/lst files anymore.. (would have saved me an hour of my time)
Hey ETA Prime, thanks for the tutorial as always. My current version of retroarch doesn't show reiscast core, instead it has flycast and flycast win ce. Flycast works for anyone out there who also doesn't have the reicast core.

When I try playing metal slug 6 or KOF IX. The sound lags and glitches so bad. Also, what core do you guys recommend using. Any assistance will be appreciated

I followed this tutorial a while back and had atomiswave and Naomi games working just fine with Reicast Libretro, Now all of a sudden all the games seem to run at 25-50% speed with audio sounding like its at 150-200% speed??? Can you shed any light on this please? I notice the reicast core seems to be flycast now? Many thanks in advance ETA
Would everything be exactly the same including bios etc when using the flycast core? I’m in a newer version of retroarch and Reicast is not available. I followed all the steps and I have the games loaded into the library in LaunchBox however I can’t get them to play. Any thoughts?
I'm also in the same position. I have both the bin/lst ROMs and the the Zip ROMs. But can't seem to get flycast to run Naomi. It always reads "Failed to Load Content"
I got it working but had to keep an older version of retro arch that still had it installed / config’d...one thing to check is video driver, I think it has to be set to GL in Retroarch...as for consistency...some games have issues (virtua tennis)...also I can’t get controllers to register to for atmoswave games....just FYI. There is another emulator tho out there

I have a question that is LaunchBox related, but not related to this particular video. I added games to my LauchBox setup and played with them a bit. I then added a few .ISO images to the folder containing the games and when I scan for new games, LaunchBox tells me it didn't find any. Any tricks into forcing these to show? I don't actually want to remover all of them and start from scratch. Thanks!
I know you probably aren't going to see this but every naomi bios zip I've downloaded has several files with .ic27 extensions. I tried your method but it doesn't work with them...
Had the same problem. Changed video driver from Vulkan to gl and it started working. I think I needed to save the config, exit Retroarch, then restart it after changing that setting because the first time I tried to load a game after changing the setting it still gave me the same error
There doesn't appear to be any Reicast listed in Retroarch anymore, and I can't find a clear answer as to whether the new entry, Flycast, is a replacement. Is there newer info for Naomi on Retroarch anywhere?
edward severeid Demul has this beat in the compatibility department for sure. But Reicast has come a long way in the last few months and if you don’t want a bunch of EMU’s this is an awesome option.
I can run the zipped file through retroarch directly with load content and core, but it does not do this through Launchbox. Flycast also uses mame format for Naomi and I have the same problem. Many Thanks Phill
I followed this tutorial a few months ago to set up & run Naomi and Atomiswave games. I just tried to load some games, and after loading up, each game says "Game Over" and closes the game, taking me back to my Launchbox main window.
The most common reasons people have problems setting up this emulator is: 1. They have "Extract ROM archives before running" checked in their RetroArch Edit Emulator window. 2. They do not have their platform name listed in the Associated Platforms tab in their RetroArch Edit Emulator window. 3. Their ROMs are either missing BIOS files or their files are not correct... Much easier to troubleshoot on the community forums. I'd recommend you head over there if you still run into problems: forums.launchbox-app.com/

Almost every single tutorial I have tried to follow is always missing one piece of critical information that could have been easily included but costs me hours of researching to find the solution.
This no longer works for Atomiswave...or at least it’s not working for me. Any corrections you know of since making this video that would get it up and running in RA? NAOMI works perfectly.
Just change cabinet settings in the test menu. Push start when this appear. Yo have to have mapping a 'service' button to scroll in the test menu. Normally the error is for the screen orientation.
Can someone please tell me how I can add old school video games to my Nintendo Wii without having a Mac computer it seems that The Homebrew Channel does not work and I guess you don't want it hooked up to the Internet anyways when you have weak flow and a external 1tb hard drive with all of the Wii games on it
Pro-one emulator to run most of your systems. Automatic controller setup (for most part) Con-some RA cores are not quite as good as standalone emulator. I prefer standalone MAME over RA mame cores. In some cases the standalone gets updated faster.
This set up did not work for me! The launch box is great and works as intended. However, I had to do my own research to get it working with other emulators pointing to the right path and most importantly, bios configuration. The tutorial is too long and does not work on newest version, 2020

@@codetvirus2010 I stopped using Rocket Launcher years ago as it just adds an unnecessary layer to playing games. Getting a Naomi romset from the Nyaa site gives the .lst files, but trying to import them in launchbox will only recognize 4 of them.
@@RyanKMoore It gives something more than that. Launchbox only reconize the ones that exist with the same name as the Launchbox program database. Just change the names of the folders, .lst and .bin or .dat. Also change the name of the rom inside the .lst editing it with notepad. Ill recomend downloading the database from hyperlist to get the exact rom name.
@@mikejohnson3874 Yeah, just checked the libretro page and it mentions MAME roms are no good. Guess it's time to download like 15 dubious romsets to find some bins >< OTOH they have the .lst files over there.

cracrus2 not yet but I’m sure these guys and gals will have it working soon. They have been at it non stop for the last few months and the Emulator has come a long way in that time.

Got some Atomiswave game running but not tested all ... THANKS ... just a precision for some of, you have to add files named with 'list' extension even nor all emulator are working the same way. Hard to find some additional
Cemu is just like any emulator in Launchbox, if you've done a few before already. Only difference, with Wii U games.... you wanna make sure you get the "Loadiine" versions only, when you're downloading them off sites, make sure they say Loadiine. Wii U games are basically a folder with other folders inside. In Launchbox, you point the Launcher to the "code" folder and inside is always an .rpx file. Sometimes the RPX file has funny names, like codewords, or sometimes it's the name of the game. You can rename this file if you'd like. Just point Launchbox to that .rpx file and it'll load up like normal. Hope that helps!
Hey guys, how about making a video and showing us how to make this actually work with any formats of Naomi roms? Some of us not as privileged as you are and we have no way of getting proper roms that you have. You are using a properly converted rom set . Try reading comments from others too ones in a while and answer some questions. This will not work with out proper step by step type of a set up. I personally tried step by step that is showed in this video and retro arch fails to open my roms. I have correct list and dat files including bios.
It's pretty simple, just add these names to the retroarch core in supported system at the beginning of the ahk information and a little below. And like always point to the core in the module settings.

When unzipping the rom, I do not see an lst file. How do acquire the file?

don't use roms in BIN / LST anymore use the old .zip MAME rom format with flycast

Use the 7zip tool to extract the files from the ISO.

You could try Demul for Atomiswave, works flawlessly with that emulator.

Its in RetroArch, the Naomi is starting with the little video (bios intro) and then from there it says "Error 01"

All I get is a blank screen but I can hear the sounds. I tried renaming the.ic27 files to .bin

I don't think so, the MAME romset doesn't launch, only the .bin Naomi/Atomiswave romset does. At least for me on Reicast 0.1 500393a

Please do a tutorial on adding WiiU games to Launchbox and launching on Cemu.
Cemu is just like any emulator in Launchbox, if you've done a few before already. A Riduan for som reason when eta does the update he does through retroarch i suggest going directly to the retroarch site and re downloading it
