- Ash Dixon, Otere Black and Sean Wainui talk about what it means to them to perform the Māori All Blacks Haka Te Tīmatanga.
The Māori All Blacks take on Moana Pasifika at 7.05pm on Saturday 5 December live on Sky Sport at FMG Stadium in Hamilton.
Ash Dixon is an absolute warrior. So underrated
Never sell the bones of your ancestors. Fight and die for them, laughing in the face of death, if needs require you to do so...Embrace your death as you embrace all things present and past...This is the impression that the Maori Haka gives to me.
Speaking as A Welshman through, and through! Have loved The Haka ever since I stood in The Cardiff Arms Park in 1963/4 too watch My First International Match.Wales vs New Zealand. Stirs the best in me.Loved the Maori people and Their Culture. That team captained by Sir Wilson Whineray had quite a few Maori' in that team. Ever since I have enjoyed being in your company after the game having a few beers and a Great Time .Many thanks and Kind regards Colyn. From ...." The Land of Song too The Kind Cultured people from " The Land of the Long White Cloud " .
First time seeing this today. All of the best to New Zealand All Black vs Australia tomorrow 24 September 2022
Any other fluent speakers like Otere and the Rickett boy

First 😁
No offence to the main AB side, but Maori ABs bring a different spirit and energy to the haka, I know both teams represent NZ but I prefer watching the Maori ABs haka's, besides them I think the Chiefs have one of the best haka's as well.
Rest in peace sean wainui
Beautiful. Ash is the man.
Grew up with his older brother, so he was always "Little Ashley Dixon". Not anymore! Was a handy golfer and cricketer back in the day too.
Start quivering your hands!
Stand sure,
Be firm!
Firm!
Get together!
Intermesh with each other!
In the beginning
there was nothingness,
then great dark forms
in the long night.
The separation of our parents**
The binding together of mankind
Young warriors
Noble warriors
Aim for the mountain
to arrive at the plain,
and also for the sky
to arrive at the hilltop
Keep on climbing
via the pathway of wisdom,
to achieve excellence
spiritually,
mentally,
physically.
KIA WIRI!

I TE TĪMATANGA
KO TE KORE*
Ko Te Pō-nui
Ko Te Pō-roa
Ia, ha ha!
Wehenga mātua**
Herenga tāngata
He toa rangatahi
He toa rangatira.
Whakaki te maunga
Tae ki te whenua
Hoki ki te rangi
Tae ki te pukerunga
Ia, ha ha!
Piki ake, piki ake
Ki te ara poutama
Ki ngā taumatatanga
