    This is by far the best vlog I've seen on Santorini. Everyone only talks about Oia and Thera, and don't realize that there are so many other picturesque villages on the island, that are virtually unknown to tourists.
    You showcased the island quite well and no annoying music. You should have gone in search of that party. They would have invited you. Greeks are incredibly hospitable.

    • @agirlandherpassport

      Thank you so much! It’s comments like these that keep me motivated. I like the music to compliment the scene not be the scene. I probably should have but it was too hot to wander around looking for it. Oh I am familiar with their hospitality. I live here and experience it a lot. Thanks for watching.

      @@agirlandherpassport Yes, I agree. Oh you do? That explains a lot.
      You're welcome. 😊 I'll definitely be checking out your videos on some of the other islands. It's nice to see videos that take you beyond the usual tourist spots. And there are more cool places on the island that are even less known. And these sorts of places have a completely different vibe when they aren't packed to the brim with tourists. This may be one of the only good things that came from this pandemic. So experience it while you can. ❤

    Hey all,
    For those asking about the situation here I live here. From 15th June more things will open. Masks are mandatory but I would say 50% wear them. Rent a car, please don’t rent a ATV they are really dangerous and annoying on the roads for drivers. We have too many tourists die or have bad accidents from them and our hospital isn’t great. The sea is still cold but the days are beautiful. Welcome to Greece 🇬🇷

    • @agirlandherpassport
      @agirlandherpassport 3 роки тому +3

      Thank you, Christina! I 100% agree with you on the ATV. They are very dangerous. Plus, why would you rent an ATV when you could have a nice air conditioned car! I would say the hospitals on the Greek islands are more like clinics and are not equipped for serious accidents and most people who had serious injuries would have to go back to Athens for treatment. Not a great way to end a vacation.

    Are Taxis not readily available in Santorini? Since you said renting a car is the way to go.

    • @agirlandherpassport
      @agirlandherpassport 2 роки тому

      There are taxis but there are only 40 so it can be an issue if you go in August. They are also expensive. It would be cheaper to rent a car than take a taxi everywhere you want to go.

    To rent a car do you need anything special? I read something about a international drivers license. And is the Island easily accessible by bus?

      You do need an international drivers license to rent a car here. There are buses but they take time. So if you have lots of time then you can take the bus.

    If we stay in Oia instead of Fira sometime August 2021, what hotel can you recommend since we are working on a budget. We don’t wanna go cheap but not too extravagant too.

    • @agirlandherpassport
      @agirlandherpassport 3 роки тому +1

      Oia isn't known to be budget friendly as it is the most expensive area on the island. I stayed in this place a few years ago and it was nice, Strogili, www.booking.com/hotel/gr/strogili.en.html?aid=1361192&no_rooms=1&group_adults=2
      If you must stay in Oia, I would just do it one night and then stay somewhere else for the rest of your trip. Check out Demeter Cave House, www.booking.com/hotel/gr/demeter-cave-house-adults-only.en.html?aid=1361192&no_rooms=1&group_adults=2

      By the way, if we’re flying from Orange County california to Athens, will 3 days in Athens be enough? No need to test right since my husband and I are fully vaccinated. Then we fly from Athens to santorini, do we have to test again?
