The gentleman doesn’t realize it’s the pressure of the water moving thru the fabric that does the cleaning. Agitation is not required.

I've not had a washer or dryer for over 5 years now. We now have 5 people in the house including a 3 month old who is in cloth diapers. After we had our son I didn't feel like always needing to go away for a whole day at one our family's house to do laundry. I started washing everything out by hand about 6-7 weeks ago.
Then I looked up how to wash clothing at home. I decided the breathing washer would be better then a washboard. I am very pleased with the results of the breathing washer.
After some trial and error I have found a great way to wash our clothes. I use a 13 gal trashcan to wash our clothes. It works very well! I fill up the trashcan with water, soap, 1 cup of baking soda and put our clothes in a mesh bag. I agitate it for about a minute. (The breathing washer is in the mesh bag) Then let it soak for at least 15 minutes. Then I agitate it again for a couple minutes. I pull the whole bag up and put it into another trash bag with clean water and 1 cup white vinegar. I let it soak another 15 minutes and then agitate before I pull the whole bag up again to drain the water.
I hang the whole bag up to drip before I stomp all the water out in the bath tub. Once everything is wrung out I hang it on a drying rack by our dehumidifier.
My husband was skeptical at first that I could get it all clean but so far he is satisfied with the results.

I love your thinking outside the box and your solution is a direction I would actually try! WTG! And not going somewhere to wash and the dragging stuff and family out is WIN_WIN! I hope all your kids learn to be self sufficient'ish too!

I've been using a breathing mobile washer for over 10 years. Don't need as much detergent as with a regular washing machine. I agitate for 5 to 8 minutes depending on how dirty they were then wring out the soapy water. I use white vinegar in the rinse water bucket to remove extra soap. About 1/4 cup is enough, if I don't use too much soap. Wring out the clothes again to remove excess rinse water. The vinegar smell evaporates as the clothes dry.
For heavily soiled or sweaty clothes, I soak them in soapy water overnight. Wring out that water and wash the clothes in fresh, soapy water. Then rinse in the white vinegar water, wring well, and hang on the clothes line.

You need to get rid of that guy.....a know it all! We need a new video without him. She is doing it right. The water is pushed up through the material and to prevent the handle from coming loose, you need to wrap some waterproof tape around the threads and tighten it up.

You've got the right idea but you need to put more water in that pail. I have one of these mobile washers and it works infinitely better when you have enough water in the pail and, of course, enough soap as well. Also, don't put too many clothes in at a time. Better to do a few pieces at a time. This washer actually does a better job than a modern electric washer if you use it right.

I used to buy electric portable washers, went through 3 within 2 years. The wand cleans just as well. I put the washing wand in one of the broken washers that has a spinner attached that still works. If something is stained, I wash the area by hand, agitate laundry for a minute or two, let soak 10 mins, agitate another 1 to 2 minutes and drain, throw in the spinner and then in my wee dryer.

There's one very important caveat, she notes: “Both vinegar and baking soda can be used to clean your washing machine and clothing, but they should not be mixed together because they neutralize each other.

One 5 gallon bucket. Pour in water, 3/4 to the top. Add laundry soap. Mobile washer to plunge a bit. Let sit in soapy water about an hour. then plunge and wash. Tip bucket into a laundry basket, lay basket on its side and let water drain. Refill bucket with clean water. dump wet clothes from basket into bucket, plunge, then drain . Repeat. Use a salad spinner to spin out most of the moisture, line dry. Been doing this for literal years, and 70 years old. Nothing to it.

I am sure many know that, but some may not.
If it's warm out, you might want to place your bucket with dirty clothes under the sun and soak your dirty clothes in water with soap. Placing this bucket under the sun, so water is warm is not crucial, still keeping this water warm should help. If you could leave your clothes sitting there and just soaking for at least 2 - 3 hours, better yet 10 - 24 hours, you'd clearly see that water gets really filthy! Even without washing, soaking alone is removing a lot of dirt out of your clothes! So, following washing and good rinsing make them much cleaner! I actually soak my own laundry at home every time, even with my electric top-loading spinner.

Buy a laundry spinner to extract the water. I broke down and bought one! My poor wrists and hands have had it! Been doing laundry by the bucket and tub since April of 2020! 👵 Also.....you will need an electric drill to sear the holes into any plunger!

You only add enough water to really cover the clothing and for best results... use for small loads! It basically pushes the water/soap mixture through the clothing. My dang washer broke and I've been washing clothes in my tub until I can afford a washer and I personally rather use my hands to ensure they're being washed better! I have a son and boys get filthy lol! I like the idea of an agitator better which my hands obviously will do a better job than this breathing washer thing lol! I don't mind the hand washing.... it's the ringing out that I hate!!

    • @lorimav

With the plunger , however, you need enough water or it is hard to move the clothing. Fill it until the plunger moves almost effortlessly.

Not hard to move at all IF you have enough water in the bucket. I'm 61 and my muscles are not what they used to be. Once the water kevel is high enough that plunger moves effortlessly. I get OCD and over do it.

@@Toohot2handle758 what i mean is i used to live in a van and tried every alternative i could think of but nothing beats a washer. only decent kind is the sink adapter washers you can hook up to a sink. Hence why no solution when youre broke except laundromats with sketchy people, unless you go to a laundromat near a wealthy neighborhood or near a college campus.
