Hi Wendy! I am from Brazil and here the name is Faber-Castell Supersoft. The box is the same and it seems that the color palette is the same too. The shape here is rounded and they are really soft (not as the Primas, but really soft) We don’t like this box as well and I put them in another case. In Brazil they exist for a while and 99% of the colorists here love those pencils 😊. As a success here I think they start to send to other countries with some small differences. But, in fact, it is necessary to learn how to deal with them and how to layer/blend them. They go very well with most types of paper and they are perfect in black paper too. Well, I am a little suspicious because I love them 😂. Thank you for your videos!
Thanks Carolina, I think I'd have preferred round bodies, I wonder why they changed it for other countries? I don't think mine are really soft, so perhaps they changed more than the shape, but they are nice for the money. I totally agree I think I need to play with these more to learn what works with them, but I was thinking layering was they way to go, and perhaps a more textured paper. Thanks for telling me more about them, really interesting, Thanks so much for giving it a watch, x👍❤️
@@wendyscolouring I am Brazilian too and here we have Tris Vibes and I think is more soft than SuperSoft, but is more expensive (24 colors = $10,63 while that of Supersoft is $8,83 for 24 colors) and is my fav pencil colors
Hiya, Glad it was useful. Apparently only half of the skin tone set is in this set, (which does seem a bit odd?) I've got the missing ones on order to add to these, as skin tones are quite important. xx👍
Thanks Pixie, x I need to play with them more, I'll definitely give them a try on Amazon paper, I was thinking perhaps something a bit more textured was they way to go👍
Hi Wendy. On screen they look OK and with the name Faber Castell on them I would hope they would be OK as a starter set. Thank you for the show and tell.
I’m going to buy the 100 set because they feel strong, no breakages at all and best of all they remind me of Mitsubishi Posca pencils, so they’ll fill my need for more Posca.
HIya, oh good I'm glad you like them, they are harder than the Posca pencils, but they are a good buy for the price. Posca don''t seem to be making a wider range of the posca pencil do they, I had hoped they would add to them. 👍🫶🏻
I bought the 50 for £16 on a deal and the 12 neon and pastel small set for £6.75 from Amazon UK yesterday and they arrived today. The 100 set is on there for £49 at the moment. I haven’t swatched them yet but they looked reasonably good for the price when I had a scribble. Couldn’t get a brilliant blend though.
Yes I see they have more stock again now, I think for the price they are great buy. No i've struggled with a blend, I think you can probably get a layered blend, but they won't blend like something softer would I don't think. 👍❤️
Hi, Overall I think the Black widows are a nicer pencil, but Black widows are much more expensive if you want them 100 of them, as you have to buy multiple tins. . So it depends how much you want to spend. I think the Black widows are also a little harder leads, than these, but they are smoother finish on the paper once down. Personally, I think I prefer the black widow, but I haven't used these a huge about other than small tests, so perhaps I'm being unfair to them.
Omg I love the black edition pencils, I only have the 50 set ,I'm in USA, can't find the 100 set on Amazon us, I use mine with my chromaflow pencils! Can't wait to see all the other colors❤ I paid 25$ for 50
Oh how odd, Normally you get stuff like this before us here in the UK, You can order from the Uk site, but I'm guessing the postage cost will make it far too pricey. Hopefully they will pop up on the US site soon, 🤞💗
Finally got around to opening mine and putting them in a case, drove me potty looking for the numbers because there is no rhyme or reason to them😢😢😢 now need to use them. Are they real fc?? Not a clue but cheap and cheerful all the same.
HIya Kath, I'm still undecided on which case to put these in, Shall I put them with something else, ( which set?) or keep them in a case on there own. They are driving me nuts on my desk, I'm always knocking the daft packaging over. I'm thinking perhaps they should be in a case with my 100 Crayola, although I think they are better than those. One day they will find their home!🤣 I think they are real Faber, but they are a student grade type product, They great value for the money either way. 👍
Yes, I've added the link for them, I filmed this over a week ago, (School is busy, exam season) and at the time they were out of stock on Uk, hence why I ordered from Germany) but I can see they have restocked, so I've added the link. They are a good cheaper buy, I need to try them on different surfaces, i'm thinking they will perhaps be better on something with a bit more texture, judging by other folks comments, x Hope you are good, x 👍💗🫶🏻
Yes £49 on Uk site now, just orered a set as had the little set ages ago and quite liked them. As a heads up did people know there is a new Kameliya Angelkova has a new one out 50 Mythical Miniatures out ❤❤
@@yvonnewest3132 Yes I did notice, I sadly haven't coloured in my last one, (woodland Miniatures) so I can't buy another one yet, I've also got Farmyard animals that I haven't coloured yet as well. I wish these were in the small book size, I think they would work well like that, and be a bit quicker to colour. The new one does look good though, I was very tempted, x 👍
I felt the same with my Faber Castell Eco: they layer, but they don't blend. You need like 20 super light layers in order to make them blend well. Thanks for sharing, Wendy!
Oil pencils don't blend period, they layer. Even the professional set Poly Chromos doesn't blend. I don't need 20 layers either. Blending and layering are two different techniques
I love faber castell but not sure I would get them now I’ve watched you with them I have all the others and have 36 set of the blacks not use them much xx but will have a go xx
I'm in mixed minds with these yet, I think I need to try to use them some more, I'm curious whether they will be ok on Amazon paper, I think I need to try them more next month. I been busy playing with the Kalour's, and these have been left. They are cheap enough, (Here in the UK) but for £10 more Ive got the 300 Kalours, so I'm not sure whether these are a good buy really. More effort needed with them on my part I think. 👍
🤞Hopefully the larger set will pop up soon for you all In Australia, they have taken a while to arrive in the Uk, so clearly they are starting to expand where they are selling. No I don't have a fan going, I'm wondering if its some kind of feedback from my mic, as I do know what you mean, its only noticeable when its very quiet, but I do need to try and get to the bottom of it, or talk more!😆 Sorry if its annoying you, x
Here in America on Amazon they are $99. I considered it but there are so many others I could get for that price! But someday if the price goes down a bit, thank you for sharing though😉😃
HIya, yes a few people have commented on the prices in the States, its odd isn't it, surely it would be easier and cheaper to ship from Brazil where they are made to you folks. I was thinking we would get them after you, I'm sure they will make there way to you all cheaper in the end. 🤞
I’m sure it will all work out! So hard to be patient sometimes!🤣🤣🤣 it’s not like I have nothing to color with I shouldn’t complain really. Kind of an addiction really, all the coloring stuff!
If you want to know the names of the colors to match the numbers, Faber Castell has them on their website. Just pick the product, and look in the description and they list the names.
I've just ordered the 100 in a tin from cass art too. They had the cardboard wallet for £31 at Amazon which would have arrived tomorrow, but seeing as I do like my tins, I went for the 100 tin at cass art for £39.95 in the end although it will take longer. I only ordered it yesterday so I can't wait for them to arrive.
Well I didn't know specifically, but I had heard they were supposed to be good on other coloured papers. Do you mean how well it will cover on a grey coloured paper? I would have thought most colours will be good, they will be a bit more muted than on a white paper, but you can see the colours, unlike a lot of other brand of pencils. 👍
I have been in contact with Faber-castell customer support services. They told me that there is not a 100 set Black Edition available. Anything you find is from a third party supplier and not guaranteed by Faber-castell. Sorry for the bad news. Please don't kill the messenger!
Hi Julia, Thanks for letting me know, I'm not too worried, they were a fairly cheap buy, so I wasn't expecting anything amazing. Mine seem in good condition, so I think I'll get my moneys worth from them. Funnily enough mine have come from Germany. They are made in Brazil though, so who knows. A nice lady from Brazil did tell me that the Black edition sold in Brazil have a different shaped barrel, and that these ones are made to shipped abroad. They certainly are a bit of a secretive pencil!👍🫶🏻
Faber-Castell Germany has the 100 Black Edition on their website for sale, €55.00. Are they selling a third party product on their website and don’t know about its existence? Strange.
I still need to use these more, I bought a case for them, and just haven't had time to organise them and play. I'm thinking they should be ok on amazon paper? 🫰
I did sharpen them all before I swatched them, I'm thinking they perhaps need some paper that has more texture, curious to see how they are on Amazon paper. 👍 I'm used to something much softer, so I'm also thinking it's a learning curve with what will work with them technique wise.
I love these pencils they are just a little less pigmented and slightly harder than Prisma color but heck for the price you would expect crayons qaulity
They are fine for practicing, I like them for the price. Compared to more expensive and better pencils, the difference is the colour pigment. They look washed like any other cheap pencil, as it should
