I commented on Nick's channel that I was initially disappointed when you dropped Princess for Fairline, but of course you know what you're doing and this just knocks it out the park! This just exudes taste and quality and I'm sure will be a future classic.
The quality of your videos is getting better and better all the time. This was great getting the insight of the designer. Hopefully your subscriptions start to soar, you deserve to be up there with the UA-cam boating royalty! (Nick, Esysman, Superyacht Captain)
What a beautiful boat. The layout is amazing and the joinery is beautiful. I love this boat. The interview went well with some great insight and as always your sense of humour James, makes for a down to earth video. Thanks as always for a great tour. Cheers
Beautiful boat. The standard of lacquer work reminds me of the Freeman cruisers of the 1970's and 80's. They didn't have the matching grain of the Fairline on the panels. But then they were much smaller, mainly river and costal boats. There are a lot of them about that still have their original lacquer. Classics now.
I would love to see Fairline do something around the dimensions of a Sunseeker Ocean 90 - the attention to detail and woodworking that Fairline does would make it an incredible boat I think.
I did notice it didn’t have any sun visors. The clear tinted aircraft type, would be ideal, especially at the main helm. Obviously a good pair of aviator Rayban sunglasses would do the trick, but then everything would be dark in the cabin, including the instruments. I think it is something I would spec, especially for the UK, where the Sun is low for six months of the year. Just a thought for the boat designers. 🙂
Excellent Vlog James...as usual. Absolutely love this boat, quality second to none... have to watch this again on the big screen later ! Brilliant to see the boat in motion too....This boat has everything ! Have to agree with the comment below, one of the nicest boats you have shown us...now on my Favourite list...
I was just watching an episode of Peppa Pig with my toddler and on grampy pig's boat they went down into the galley to get their lunch. They couldn't find the lunch so they started opening cabinets and out pops and ironing board and I immediately thought of this boat and Fairlines ironing board history!
It would be nice if Fairline mentioned the new product coming(even if theirs no visuals). Also, THANK YOU for mentioning the optional engines….for a long time now, I’ve wondered why the British “performance luxury” manufacturers consistently underpower their hulls compared to say, American sportfish (even Australia’s Riviera, Maritimo and Palm Beach).
First of all, I love your videos, I've learned so much about boats! Just a couple of curiosity questions. Why do the flags have the red background? And since the boat is parked, where's the water on the floors coming from?
I remember years ago at Earls Court going onboard some of these boats and I was struck by how horrible the interiors fixtures were they reminded me of a cheap caravan. At the time a 62/64 foot boat would relieve you of around 1.5 million. On the flybridge, the instruments had the same metal surroundings as the RIB I owned at the time. They were also rusting like mine because they were cheap and awful. When I came away from the show my feeling was you would have to have more money than sense to buy one and as for second-hand, forget it, the thing would be falling to bits. These boats seem to be in another league with quality and build, almost a work of art. Oh, and I agree a bigger BBQ, about four times as big and the flagstaff for the ensign I would want in varnished wood.
Hi Alan - I just found the video you wanted - I have put on twitter and Instagram under ‘boats.co.uk’ . I could not add back into the video at this stage. Enjoy !
Great boat and a great video, as always. Are you behaving yourself because the Fairline people were there? Now, that helm "door", I'm 6'2" and 19 stone, so for me it's probably a large shout window. Thanks for your videos, love them all.
since we have a designer in the video, perhaps he could tell us whether we can have a bare flybridge - plates cabinet; sink, grill, fridge and ice maker sturctures; the fixed seating - just give me acres of gorgeous decking. the ony structure I want is one that would hold a couple a patio tables and chairs. my rationale is clear: * a clean deck means I can do fitness and yoga and whatever - even sleep up there, under the stars. * second, I'm not interested in sitting up there if the sea is agitated, so I have no need to fixed seating. my patio tables and chairs only come out when my boat is at anchor. lastly, where the flybridge is concerned, can I have, not just a hard top, without any soft bit, and, one that goes all the way, to the very back? like, you know, not everyone is into having naked human bodies roasting in the sun. I don't do decadence.
So why is the washer dryer in the hallway rather than the utility room??? If I was paying £2.5m for this boat last thing I’d want is the washer dryer whirring out the front of my master suite through the night.
Hi Daz and Keith - we have looked into a better camera and this is the advice we have been given: 1/ It is a lot easier to record bad film on an expensive camera.iPhones are idiot proof and I am an idiot. 2/ We are not making films/adverts - we are doing simple boat reviews - and we hope people will accept lower quality film bearing in mind we are dream makers and not film makers 😂
Quality materials and finishes everywhere as typical with Fairline. It just that the colours and overall palate used is just so bland. Needs variety of finishes, mirrors and chrome elements to give reflections and tone on tone effects to liven it up and stop it looking like a high class retirement home. You didn't show us you going into crew space as it looked a bit tight at the entrance. Maybe you knew you wouldn't fit or not have gotten out?
@@Boatscouk This was impression I got when comparing Squadron 68’ against say Galeon 64’ or Galeon 68’ or even Princess 68 Fly. But granted, some people like neutral palates - matches their cardigans!
Please invest in better video equipment. Videos are always overexposed. I also notice a beginner's mistake that has happened too many times, and that is that the cameraman determines the exposure according to the screen. If the light is strong, determining the exposure via the LCD screen is not recommended. The content is excellent except for a couple of technical errors.
It could be better audio and video but remember I am a second hand boat dealer from essex using an iPhone 😜 I just want to show you the boats I see everyday 😊
WHY can you hear the water against the hull in the cabins. and why can you hear the engines ??? it's just weird. you pay a fortune x 10 for that boat (same with other brands) and your stuck with that cheap nasty feeling when you can hear those sounds. why ??
@Boatscouk its noisy as crap. Engines are not to be heard in a luxury yacht. Cheapens the whole thing down to a dingy. And no you do not want to hear the water aginst the hull . How do you sleep in that noise ?but im glad you are having a good time 😁
It’s great to see another British boat manufacturer building fantastic boats

James on his best behaviour 👌🏻
Fairline have always made a great boat,
Next thing I need to do is buy one!

Really enjoyed the full review. Daydreaming all day till I own one.
Did he work on the Squadron 58 circa 2005 as that knocks me over and it's the one I WANT AND WILL HAVE ! LOVE FAIRLINES 😁👍🏴
Yes he did !
the double cabin for me would be crew, and the utility room would be crew galley. and now the crew cabin at the back is diving equipment storage.
thats a home made blankety blank microphone!! great vid James, love the channel.

Brilliant video, very interesting. Thank you! Hopefully you'll sell a couple of these so you can get a good mic...!
Yes - new one coming !
Can you put the new chine design on your lower length model,s. It will make it better than the other builders in the market.
Great video James!!
Great video James. This boat is really lovely just perfect 👍🏻

4000 / 350l/h @ 20 knots = 250 mile range tops? Or £6,000 every 12 hours
