LIFESAVER!!!!! I have a histo quiz 2moro nd we supposed to be learning this with biolucida viewer but my laptop doesnt accept it. thought i was gonna fail till i found this. THANK YOU SO MUCH.
Hiya just wanted to thank you for this video !!! it has helped me a tonne :) I am doing dentistry and have histology as part of my exam. This video is a lifesaver thank you !!!!
in 25:28 how is that a simple squamous, it didn't have any nucleus in the cell... is there a way i could differentiate this from adipose tissue in an exam?
She mentioned that this is a top view of the cell. More commonly what we see where we are able to see the nucleus is a side view which is why it’s so distinct. When the tissue is cut there is always a possibility of not seeing nuclei in certain cells simply because it didn’t get sliced through to be included on the slide.
Also if the pic is taken by a Light Microscope You can see Cilia individually However Microvilli will be harder to see them individually and will appear more like a band
I am trying to get students in a quiz taking situation. The answers are fully explained at the end. If my students watched my epithelial videos they should have 90 % of the correct answers. But every one teaches what has worked best for them.

It doesn't matter if it doesn't have any nucleus, you should look into the shape of the cell. It is flat, and squamous epithelial tissues are flat.
She mentioned that this is a top view of the cell. More commonly what we see where we are able to see the nucleus is a side view which is why it’s so distinct. When the tissue is cut there is always a possibility of not seeing nuclei in certain cells simply because it didn’t get sliced through to be included on the slide.
How do we get the answers
The answers are gone over after the quiz. You take the quiz, write your answer and they see how you did.
very helpful
how to recognize cilia from microvilli?
i believe I explain this in the answers at the end. Cilia hair like extensions much easier to see. Microvilli are fuzzy looking hard to see.
Also if the pic is taken by a Light Microscope
You can see Cilia individually
However Microvilli will be harder to see them individually and will appear more like a band
Omg 😱 how I supposed to know if I answer right or wrong?
Answers are at the end...explained in detail.
Thanks 🙏 Doctor
you should have put the answers directly after the questions though, for immediate feedback. evidence shows thats better for learning
