- Black Mesa was lost at the invasion of Xen and the cleanup of the Black Ops, so now HECU had to flee the facility and save their lives in the fastest way possible, due to the imminent threat of a nuclear device detonation.
Nevertheless, their retreat was kicked and stomped by the invading Nihilanth armies and most of their efforts were smashed with great strength. Maybe Gordon Freeman's actions would prove to save what was left of the military?
Nevertheless the HECU were running out of vehicles and equipment, so they had to use whatever was left in their hangars and airfields, including captured Soviet tanks and helicopters which were the last resort of this crushing, flash war.

Unfortunately, during their retreat, the HECU left one brave soldier behind: Sergeant Heavyass. His ass was just too heavy, and he wasn't able to board any of the vehicles used during the evacuation.
As far as I know, there is no such mod. Someone should create one.

Also, I feel sorry for HECU. Like yeah I know they were the baddies but I feel like if they hadn't been manipulated by the G-Man maybe just maybe. Black Mesa would have more survivors.
The HECU, a complicated bunch indeed. If only they hadn't fallen under the spell of that elusive G-Man, things might have turned out quite differently.
Let's remember the misinformation they were fed, the orders they were given which conflicted with laws and morality. Things didn't make sense and the soldiers disobeyed. That's the the Black Ops came to finish the job.

I like how the escape from City 17 by the rebels is almost like when the HECU retreat from Black Mesa.
@@user-tk4mx2tm6p it would be cool to see desperate Civil Protection officers along with their families (those that have any left) whom are having second thoughts about defending City 17, let alone remaining loyal to the Combine itself, and are trying to escape from the city while having to face both Rebels and Overwatch Soldiers trying to escape as well.
I say Overwatch Soldiers because the Combine may not want to risk questioning loyalty from collaborators that are still fully human and have given shoot on sight orders to the Overwatch units to just gun them down indiscriminately as deserters.
The evacuation part is literally everyone when summer break starts
Facts: Nuke scene was supposed to be in HL:OF, but was cut, so the texture is still in game files, and the nuke with texture was later used in 2018 HL mod, HL:Echoes.
Would've been nice for them to have used it in OpFor... Well, that's why we remade the OpFor ending with a gorgeous NUKE!

Yah I mean there is literally no reason why Black Mesa would have MI-24s and it doesn't even make sense for them to have T-90s as those were developed by Russia after the fall of the Soviet Union and have NEVER faced Americans in combat to be captured, something tells me he just had the models and wanted to use them.

You know that part when the xen portal appeared and a bunch of alien grunts arrived. That's a scary thought, to see in the Half-Life universe why it only took 7 days for earth to fall. Imagine just going about your normal day-today rountine and then a portal appears and a bunch of aliens come out of it!

@@DinIsSoCool12 7 hours war was against Combine invasion a bit later, not against the initial onslaught of Xen forces. Xen forces were stopped by Gordon Freeman closing the portal.
That's what i was saying people mistakenly believe that when the portals opened, they only did so on black mesa when in reality these portals appeared in all parts of the world from africa to the fucking pacific ocean. So yes, the fact that Freeman closed the portal did not affect it in the slightest since by then the forces of Xen sure already exceeded one billion, if not the trillion troops deployed on earth.

@@randomnpc5777 the portal storms only appeared on new mexico and nearby zones, not in the whole world. nihilanth forces were quite limited, it would take quite a long time for the storms to take over the whole world.

It’s sad to know that the HECU didn’t know what they had to do until they were there and they were never told that there would be “reinforcements” to come and kill them. Just goes to show that they were tricked. Also I really like the evac scene of all the soldiers and vehicular rolling out, though sad to see some random soldier bleed out without help.

Awesome video, but I'm a little confused. How are the alien grunts teleporting in if the Nihilanth is already dead? The Nihilanth was already dead before the nuke was planted. (Also, the HECU pulled out before the Nihilanth died, so why is there so many? I thought this would be the black ops.) The music still goes hard.

I know that the hecu and black mesa staff possibly cooperated to escape after get to know that a nuclear bomb was planted at the facility, but it would be nice to see a video about that
So basically the black ops bring a nuke to blackmesa than Adrian shepherd has to defuse the bomb than gman detonates the bomb and in the gman speech in opposing force the nuke just explodes
