Very clear & entertaining easy to follow run through of a VERY smart game. Well done. Guess the designers must have used some sort of computer app to work out the board setups & all the clues. Impressive.
I’m late to the party here, but I just watched BGG’s Game Night play through of Cryptid, and you both randomly chose the exact same map and rules! What are the chances? It meant I knew the answer from the start, unfortunately.
I liked the video, thank you for showing a playthrough. I was trying to guess your clues along the way so would have been nice to hear a warning before you displayed them on the screen before the actual game ;) also, there are cards in the box, so sleeve question is absolutely applicable here.
@@GLHFBoardGames Hm, that's odd. I recall the first time we played this, I dismissed certain clues belonging to a player because that would result in a non-unique location. As a result, I got stuck. Another player had the same issue and we ended up concluding that this wasn't the case and there were multiple valid locations. Of course, this was our very first game so who knows what might have gone wrong.
Hmm. Maybe I'm getting confused by "non-unique" location. What do you mean by that? I just pulled out my copy and ran through two setups, and each time there was only one spot on the board that "Worked."
cryptid can be on structure spaces
Indeed! This was a mistake on my (Nicholas') part.
I love inside jokes. I'd like to be a part of one some day
Thanks! I got this game for Christmas, so this was a big help!
Happy to help, and thanks for choosing us!

Cool I just bought and played this with my daughter!
Liked just because girly there thought the goal was to find and eat the cryptid lol

also, u can guess on spots that have discs. But not ones that have cubes.
Okay, that is good to know! Was so confused about how you would guess the correct spot is someone used it as a clue already!

Sorry about the lack of warning- we were young and impulsive then. We've learned so much.
How does he say it might be there when it is within a space of a swamp
Hey Fwosty- Got a timestamp I can look at for you?

will he come out?
The "will he come out?" joke got stale fast.
agreed
OMG THAT BALLOOOOOON
Wow, you gotta stop showing games I never heard of and now I want to have.
jk, don't stop pls
Am I wrong, or did teal place every single one of her wrong?? Wth
No, her clue was within 3 spaces of 1 of the 2 green structures - so pretty narrowed down to just a few poss spaces for any of her discs.
Very nice
I don't think it's necessarily true that the solution is unique. As long as the space conforms to all players' rules, you find the monster.
The rules and board construction are constructed so that there's only one spot that "works."

@@GLHFBoardGames I did the same, same results. So I guess you were right and we made a rookie mistake that first time :)
