Finally I can show you the second act of my Dexter video series. This one is dedicated to Debra. She's a fundamental character in the show, without her Dexter wouldn't be... Dexter. She's probably my favorite, and we also share the same sailor mouth.
As opposed to her brother, Deb spent her whole life trying to prove everyone (but mostly herself) that she was worth her father's attention and love, that she was worth being a detective. She has desires, ambitions, principles. She is not a super cop, she is just human. And I hope I managed to show you that with this video.

I love Deb's character, because throughout the series I saw her as the most human of the group, she loved her brother at all costs and preferred to do everything to save her family, she made mistakes due to inexperience, bad decisions, stubbornness, but he showed his good heart and intelligence in his work.

Deb is truly the best character. She is incredibly realistic, and I feel like the show went on so well and for so long also thanks to her.
Deb was genuine, smart and full of life. Sweet in her own raunchy way. She was a superb character and my favorite. Her only downfall was trust issues and betrayal. Dex killed her soul even though he really loved her. Wonderful show for all time.
Those two set a new bar for screen-duo-chemics in a show. But Jennifer gave def. the No.1-acting-performance as Deb.

I love Deb, she was by far my favorite character. She brought soul, heart, and realism to the human experience and all that can hold. It's confusion, chaos, the emotional rollercoaster ride that's life.
While Dexter was void of emotions, Deb was overflowing of them. They worked and both fit like a glove... Miss them on screen. Hope with Dexter: Resurrection - That we see Deb again.

Seriously.
Carpenter was emoting her ass off, all over the map, throughout this series. And I cant think of one time where it became cheesy, or broke immersion.
She really delivered with this character, whole sale.

She had a choice to shoot Dexter or Laguerta, and she was so scared about killing Dexter...so why not just let him get taken in, put down the guns.
Because she wasn’t ready to see him locked up and put for trial, especially on death penalty
