That cabinet is actually an antique cupboard for a phonograph. We had one exactly like it we never changed.
Is the design on the front a wood inlay?
I am.no expert but it seams a sin to paint such a nice piece of history

LOVE the pink paint you created Kacha 💗 It's absolutely gorgeous and your House of Damask Gold Transfer looks perfect with it, as does the gold leafing you placed on the hardware. I had no idea that you could do that, but then I'm always learning new things from you.The cabinet could definitely have been used in the Barbie movie! 💗💗💗 I was wondering if you could do a 'Chinoiserie' look on a cabinet or a wooden chest, and paint it in that Chinese red colour? Annie Sloan does a Chinoiserie Bird Stencil that would look gorgeous over the red paint. What do you think? I would love to see you do something like that. My neighbor had a huge wood bookcase with a built in desk in her daughters bedroom. It's always been such a eyesore but with lots of drawers on the bottom, a desk and a mountain of shelves on top - her daughter refused to let her take it out. So we set to work to make the eyesore something spectacular. We gave it a base coat of a mix of DB dusty rose and mud puddle. Added some ornate detail using woodUbend and gave it plenty of aging using a dark wax then added your Damask gold foil to the back of each of the open shelves. We're still figuring out what to do next but it already looks wonderful. I love working with your gold foil transfers!
