    "if I had been going the speedlimit, I would have been fine" you also have a right to be on the road as much as anyone else does. so if the speed limit is 40, and with the 49-50cc bikes that's about the top limits the engine can do. then you're doing the speed limit... now I know on a hill you'd slow down to around 35 or so.... that's still well within the speed limits being you can legally travel 5 miles above or below the limit.... hell I have a taotao vetas 50 and pending on wind conditions, 45 is my top speed, and if the wind is with me I bury the speedometer needle well past 50mph. so it's the person's fault for hitting you, not yours, you were going the speed limit and they were speeding/not paying attention to the road. would be no different than if you were riding a motorcycle and you were casually going just under the posted limit, and they hit you. you had the right of way

    When I say a major build on the motor I mean extensive. I have replaced the stock final drive gears with a 2.88 gear set. The clutch with a performance clutch (clutch plates, 1500rpm torque spring, 2000rpm clutch springs), full race variator with 8 gram roller's instead of the 8.5 gram stock rollers, kevlar belt, performance exhaust, 44mm stroker crank, 50mm piston and cylinder, ported and polished big valve head, A9 camshaft, 18mm stock carb (95 main jet), racing gold cdi, performance coil, and iridium spark plug. I need a good fabricator to cut the frame bar and move it back 1 inch and up 1 inch. Then I can put my 24mm carb (100-130 jet), hoca intake manifold, and pod filter on it.

      Theoretically if you're going down a steep enough hill, you can get close to 60. I've definitely hit the 50 mark.

    I have a 2015 df50sst. I have done a major build on the motor and would like to ask who fabricated the 150cc into yours?
    My problem is that the rear frame bar where the rear shock connects makes me use the stock carb, intake, and air box instead of the new 24mm carb, intake, and air filter. I have for it. The reason being I have not figured out how to get an aftermarket air filter of any type on it yet. That frame bar is 1 inch too close and, or 1 inch too low to fit any aftermarket air filter I can find to fit the stock carb. I have tried gutting the stock air box, and sticking a pod style air filter on to the snorkle inlet of gutted air box with no filter element but stock outer air box. I've tried all the available jet sizes from scrappydogscooter.com with each configuration and decided the 95 jet works the best, but not on a stock air box, gutted air box with pod on snorkle inlet. I've found that so far the best working air filter is totally open stock air box with the foam element trapped along edges so no dirt gets in works the best so far. But think I need to find a fabricator capable of moving the frame bar back 1 inch and up 1 inch then I know I'll be ok.

      +Adam Simcox My shop did all of the custom work on mine for my first DF50SST. This time, after my accident, I ordered a new one and the work kept getting prolonged because they kept running into issues in which they needed more aftermarket parts to complete the process. I guess there is a new version of the 150 CC engine. I would consult with a shop that specializes in custom work on these bikes.

    • @angelafarley7348
      @angelafarley7348 8 років тому

      +Fong Dang you are correct their is a new version of that bike. Mine is technically a Baodiao BD50QT-26A or at least according to title and numbers on fairing. But I have looked up the BD50QT-26A number and it comes back to a scooter made by this manufacturer. It looks totally different from the df50sst I seem to be riding.

    • @angelafarley7348
      @angelafarley7348 8 років тому

      +Adam Simcox The scooter that comes up when I search BD50QT-26A is made by same company. But like I said is a total different design. Also when I went to register it 1 number was missing from title, so had to have police come verify vin #.

    • @angelafarley7348
      @angelafarley7348 8 років тому

      +Adam Simcox I have motor built and installed. I now have 128.7 miles on it. I ended up cutting the bar on frame I earlier mentioned, alingned the rear shock mount up in exact same position. and raised the rear bar 1 inch. I then stuffed a keihin pd24j carb and hoca intake in there. It took some looking and alot of buying the wrong air filters but I finally did get it right. Funny part is I had the rubber boot I needed laying in a bucket in the shed the whole time. the suspension seems to track correctly and I seem to get enough air. (finally)

      I had to take it back to the shop. There is a wire that connects to the wheel area that needs to be all the way pushed in. Mine kept falling out and I ended up having to have the shop glue it in. They told me it was a common problem with the scooters. I hope that helps.

      +VikingsFan1998 Sorry for delay.... So you can buy the Dong Fang PRO SS 200 www.powerrideoutlet.com/pro-df-50ss-200cc-street-ninja-sports-bike.html........ But you will have to register it as a motorcycle since the base bike is 200CC. When I first bought my bike, I bought a 49 CC Dong Fang DF50 SST and rode it until I got hit from behind...... WHILE DRIVING...... I was basically driving too slow. After their insurance covered my damages, I paid an extra 1300 to get a custom 150CC engine put on mine. I kept it registered as a moped because the VIN information and purchase information states it was a 49CC. The option I chose was much more expensive, but I still have documentation stating it is technically a moped if I had legal issues. If you do the 200CC option, you will need to get a motorcycle license and license plate. I hope that helps.

      +2SHAYNEZ Be sure that you tell them that you want your engine to be more horizontal verses sitting at an angle. the more horizontal the engine, the longer (extended) it will be. Thats why mine looked the way it is verses the 200CC one is more at an incline. There is alot more custom work that has to be done to the 50CC than just an engine swap so thats one of the reasons why it may be a little pricey.

    That is a bad knock off of an older r6. Buy a R3 and get a real license. I wouldn't do 60 on that thing if you paid me to. The thing to keep in mind is that every time you get on it your trusting your life to a bike who's company couldn't even do their own R&D.

      I agree with you. I really do not like riding the bike (scooter) and would much prefer a real motorcycle.........but I have no license right now. So I am forced to drive a scooter and prefer to drive this scooter vs a more traditional looking scooter. But I definitely feel what you are saying.

      I don't know what state you are in but most states give a rolling permit for a year with a relatively easy written test. From there my recommendation is to buy a used ninja250. It's a proper motorcycle with proper handling and speeds. And it's around the same cost as one of these scooters on the used market.

      jeremy fortunato it's actually based on the 08-2016 r6 not so old imo. Based on the diamond nose on the front and a lot of key features. I don't know this scooter but the older r6 came with a different nose. And the tail on the older r6 isn't as sharp. I have a newer r6 (2016 not 2017) and it looks pretty close for a scooter. Maybe I misunderstood what you meant idk.

      My point was that although this is based visually on an R6, which I own, it's a scooter and far from a real motorcycle. In fact if you want a proper scooter that looks cool you can buy an Aprilia.

      Honestly, I really cannot answer these questions. I simply told the shop I bought it from what i wanted, paid them my money, and they delivered my bike to me as a 150CC
