He is one of the most competent (Kenneth couldn't fill his shoes for one day) and yet devoted and loyal secretaries on TV. Jack doesn't know how lucky he is. Poor Jonathan. His character really brings another perspective to 30 Rock. Without him, the show would be flatter. The actor nailed the character perfectly.
Hello? You didn't include his best scene. The one where Jack wants to break into Nancy's house and he pits Jonathan and Kenneth against each other. He has them try to squeeze through a wire hanger... kenneth wins, and jack puts his hand on Jonathan and says, "you sicken me". Classic!
They did TWO! One for east coast and one for west! They're different and both funny. Kinda weird, but if you like SNL you'll like the live shows. They're both on netflix still (I think)
Jonathan's actor was not doing just this show at the time. He still showed up whenever he could, but he definitely had a lot stuff going on while 30 rock was on.
I like when Jack forces him to have an Indian accent to make it seem like 30 Rock is a much more diverse place. And Jonathan says something like, "I'm from Calabasas." Also when Jack and Elisa's couple name is "Jalisa" and Jonathan asks "What about Jackonathan?" :P
Didn't Jonathan have a line about hitting a woman with his car in Arizona, and he just kept driving? I seem to recall that, and I also seem to recall it having a really funny delivery.
Yes! He gets all wide eyed and excited when he tells Jack about it. I think its preceded by him suggesting that they tell each other secrets or something lol
Not included on here is when Kenneth and Jonathan are put into a competition by Jack to pull a hanger over their body, ending with Jack telling Jonathan: “you sicken me”
Oh that's definitely a thing imo! Theres even that episode where she accidentally screws over the woman she hires as a guest writer due to her internalized misogyny. Liz is hard headed and often inconsiderate, but usually means to do well and is highly market-driven. I think, anyway
You're missing the scene from some later season were Jonathan says to Jack, "I love sharing secrets with you, Mr. Donaghy! One time at night, while driving, I hit an old lady, and just kept going!"
I believe this was a live episode - there was a West coast and east coast one. I think you can see both on Hulu now? But each one had some changes. I think there are actually two episodes that did this
@@RonnieR29 I was wondering why Dr Spacemen's musical numbers were different, I remember watching the DVD & screaming with laughter at the "Oops I've finished, Call yourself a cab!" Then it came to streaming services & I was excited for the episode & noticed changes & they weren't for the better, even his musical numbers were switched out for less funny/risque ones.
Jonathan -you want to know more about him, yet you also don't.
Find someone to love you the way Jonathan loves Jack.
Figs3 if only I could. I woudnt let him go. He'd be tied to a Leash and living in a dog house

Creepily?
I wanna like your comment but it's at 420 likes.
Amen!
Without reciprocal love?
My favorite Jonathan moment was his reaction when he found out Liz served as the best man at Jack’s wedding.
He really shown in that episode. The way he said "It needs to see Mr. Donaghy. It needs to see Mr. Donaghy right now!".
"Rhubarb, rhubarb, golf, prostate."
3:47 “looks like somebody kicked a hole in a bag of flour” 🤣 that is so ruthless! I laughed way too hard at that!!
The emphasis on "hole" and "flour" had me reeling
too funny
Didn't realize the suggestiveness of the comment until I read it here lol...
The way he said it sells it.
@@FFF813I was going to thank you for saving me the comment. You nailed what gets me. It’s like he is throwing the words out of his mouth. 😅
The "doobie-doo doobie-doo" in the middle of "will you remember me" is fucking hysterical
The Mr. Smithers of 30 rock
Right down to his unrequited love for his boss.
YES I was thinking the same thing
This whole show was impeccably cast. There isn't a character that does not have an arc. I miss this show.
I think you mean to say "impeccably".
@@BrokenSocialScene23 yes
Toofer sucked lol
I never liked the writer's room in 30 Rock. I always thought it was a weak part of the show
“I’d rather work for an American car company than join that sinking ship”
Realest guy in the room

One word: Karl
Homer Simpson assistant
Maulik Pancholy! he was great

Classic!
also missing was how Jack met Jonathan thanks to being on medication and thinking he was M Night Shyamalan aka the best day of Jonathan's life
Bro 😂
he's got a pretty good voice.
And a beautiful flute player
His name is maulik pancholy. He voiced Baljeet in Phineas and Ferb
Prajeth Nagaraja what @@ now thats unexpected
"What if we have to share a room and I forgot to bring a shirt to sleep in and the stores are all closed..."
I never told you this but I once came up late night looking for jack and you were in a wedding dress dancing with one of his suits 😂😂😂
Ugh! He is so cute, I’ve always had a crush on him 😊
My favourite two:
“Rhubarb. Rhubarb. Golf. Prostate.”
“I still don’t like you!!”
more of Jonathan please!! 🥺 i love his scenes 5 minutes is not enough lol
Sir, if you say one more word, it’s a haiku
Leave.
0:52 my favorite scenes. The way he says no no you didnt and looks away XD
every scene with jonathan is iconic 😂
I love how they did the cutaway during the live show by having Julia Louis-Dreyfus be Liz. I didn't even know they'd done a live show!

he is awesome and cute! i love how he nailed it in acting jonathan..he is a very unique char
Dude always nails it
I wonder if Jonathan acted that way towards Liz out of jealousy
LMAO Subhas got a 10 minute compilation, Johnathan only got 5 minutes
Not enough of Dean Winters either. His character was the best.

Palo Alto, but yes.
So is he a second generation immigrant then? because it looked liked he spoke in what I assume is Hindi(Urdu?) to the "kasmiri" janitor.
@@darkfool2000 Hindi. And yeah he speaks it like an immigrant.

My favorite scene in the entire show is Jack and Jerry arguing in his office. Especially ~~ _.....Grenarnia..._ ~~
This character is brilliant, they should of done more with him
Leave that in the the Sopranos comment section

5:07 that instantaneous 180 kills me every time
You’re Will Smith and I’m the dog 😂
I would totally watch Child Hell Flight.
Jonathan is a great character!
Have you noticed that everyone who hates Liz loves Jack?
5:10 - The most hilarious Johnathan scene in the entire series.
"Why can't you be more like Kenneth?"
"I made you this"- Jonathan
"No, no you didn't" - Jack
I remember having a crush on Jonathan. He’s still so hot
Definitely
Agreed.
Okay?
So he is basically Waylon Smithers
The first time I saw Jonathan randomly playing that flute on the VCR tape, shirtless, I died.
So Jack could get John's sister out of North Korea but not his wife?
His wife was in prison during the Obama administration.
Because his sister wasn't a personal favorite of Kim.
Such a great role lol no matter what he says it's always hysterical
This actor is very good
RHUBARB RHUBARB GOLF PROSTASTE
Jealous bottom. 😂
“Rhubarb rhubarb golf prostate” Brilliant.
I just wanted to hear Jack say to Jonathan, "You sicken me."
When you come here just to see the flute clip 😆
Jonathan' jealousy is hilarious ! :-)
"Chai boy"?!!? Lmao
I really like the way Jack says Jonathan's name for some reason
What about the part in the last episode where he screams to Liz that he's no longer Special? That was funny af
I like how The Best Of Jonathan is half as long as the other Best of 30 Rock videos. . .
"I will remember you"

He's Indian AND gay. Comedy gold!
Popes and princes count their Donaghy time in seconds!

Why didn't they use Sarah Palin as second character Tina
She's not an actress
the greatest TV sycophant since Smithers
Who plays him? Hes so hot
Maulik Pancholy
It kills me how Jack says Jonathan’s name lmaooo
1:53 They swapped this joke out on the version in Australia. Instead she makes a quip about Aladdin.
I believe this was a live episode - there was a West coast and east coast one. I think you can see both on Hulu now? But each one had some changes.
I think there are actually two episodes that did this
he lowkey cute tho
Curious, why did he suddenly vanish? The show never says anything and if I’m correct he’s apart of Harol and Kumar series
He got a better starring role on Whitney Cummings' comedy show, but it didn't lsat long.
Did they change the lines? On the live episode i just saw it on netflix and the joke was about aladdin...
No. They did the show live twice that night. One for the West Coast and one for the East Coast. They changed the joke and a few other things.
