Breathe off the throttle as you shift, and it shifts very smoothly .... when you are in the mood for a more mellow cruise. (F430 owner).

Agreed, still not quite as smooth as a DCT by any means, but this method definitely made it smooth enough if just cruising.

Thanks for the video, do you think it is suitable for daily use?

It definitely would not be a comfortable one, to say the least. It is more of a weekend car with an occasional weekday drive. Regardless, fun car to drive but not the most pleasant for daily use.

@@AlwaysAutocompletely agree. I have one and there’s no way I’d want to drive it every day. Keep it fun and exciting by driving it a bit less.

I have an 08 spider. Mine shifts beautifully. Really smooth. The downshifts are instant and very enjoyable. I wonder if they maybe made improvements along the way in the transmission area?

Definitely possible that Ferrari made adjustments per model year. Would be interesting to directly compare two f430s from different years!

Bit of an update, I just watched a video where a guy ( who seemed to know what he was talking about) mentioned that in 08 they significantly improved the shifting quality of the transmission. I was confused about why people were complaining about it being clunky in earlier years as I do not have this experience. So, I guess, if someone is looking for one of these, try to find a nice 08.

Loud, but it loses the sound at least for me the stock is amazing whereas any aftermarket sounds like metal (not my taste)... Anyone knows how to preserve the sound, but increase db?

Is this really less direct than the newer Ferraris? Can’t imagine that coz the older cars are known for better driving response from the steering rack..

Just a bit, now I have not driven any of the new Ferrari Spiders so it may not be a fair comparison to cars like the sf90 and the 488. Maybe if I drove a 488 Spider I could get a more accurate comparison

    How about those sticky buttons??

The car sounds like it needs a new accumulator for the transmission. Those shifts are too slow for an 07 F1 in race mode.

Definitely possible with it being a relatively "old" car. It's not mine, and I am not sure about the maintenance history, but it shifted very aggressively.
