You're only renting 30 to 50% (depending on the length of the lease) so no, you're not paying more. And even if you're rich, no one really forks out 100k+ one-time to cash buy out the vehicle. They can lease under their business for lots of tax incentives. They will use that 100k to invest or put it something else. All german luxury depreciates like a stock market crash. Anyone (rich or not) with a common sense wouldn't buy the vehicle straight up, since you're losing so much money.

Inline 6 is still best engine ever!! Volvo killing off the inline 5/6 is the reason it will be my last Volvo. Those 4 cylinders sound and feel like garbage. Mercedes-AMG has earned my business
Maybe with MB making more I6s Volvo could get back in to the game. The whole reason they stopped using them was mainly because Daimler stopped producing new variants.

This car doesn't come with the MCT transmission. It comes with their standard 9 speed torque converter automatic. You have to step up to the E63 in order to get the quicker MCT trans.
I like this entrance and view of the interior, where everything is one shot. Gives us time to take a look at the whole interior, and feels more personal.
After driving this car hard, I can conquer it’s pretty sick if you put the esc in sport it lets you move the rear end Around which is fun. It def feels a bit heavy though when you’re pushing it

IMO, this car would be perfect in white because of that black contrasting sunroof and red brake calipers to add a little pizazz for the exterior. The way that straight-6 sounds and pulls toward redline (a shame it’s “only” 6500 RPM) actually reminds me of a Porsche GT3. Amazing transmission too. Maybe I’m crazy for saying that, but it does, and honestly that is the highest praise I can give being a Porsche fanboy. Amazing review Sofyan! Keep these coming!
great review - he really gets it, I think its one of the best every day usable amgs you can get. The coupe is the prettiest. The speed, usablility and practicality is excellnt - the tech is amazing. I think it's the ulitmte GT car can take you anywhere any weather totally safe and relaxed when you get there.
An excellent automobile and with amazing technology. It won't appeal to the old-schoolers who like the older V8 stuff but this is much more contemporary and keeping with the times.

I am not typically an M-B fan, but man, this car has me drooling (loving the silver/black/red combo)!! Also, the MCT isn’t a dual-clutch transmission. It’s basically M-B’s regular 9-speed automatic with a (single) multi-plate wet clutch instead of a torque converter (and some other performance mods like a magnesium casing). Also... I-6 :drool:
David is correct the MTC it’s not true a multi clutch though. And Brian is also correct it’s MB’s TCT in the e53, the same transmission I have in my ‘19 c43. The c and e63’s have the MCTs
Yes, the AMG models like the C43 and E53 are not the full fledged AMG models with the 63 name and the 4.0L tiwn turbo V8, but it's Mercedes-AMG we are talking about, and whatever engine they put in, and whatever upgrades they put it, the cars are still insanely quick and nuts, even for these baser models.

2018+ E coupe is so far the only car that checks everything on my list while not being ridiculously expensive, meaning I can afford a relatively new used ones. However, the US market seems to only import high-end luxury cars. I wish we had something like E260/E300 coupe since I probably don't need all the power from the 450 V6 (not to mention this AMG model) and the price is more reasonable
My C43 AMG (V6) sounds very similar but with louder pops on the up-shifts and I must agree, Mercedes build some of the best sounding 6 cylinder engines on the planet.
Honestly my first thought was why would they add a supercharger, turbo, & hybrid... That's so complex. I'd be concerned about maintenance. Too heavy & too expensive. wouldn't even touch this used for half price. Seems more ideal for wealthy lease buyers
I'm very happy to see straight 6s making a return. V6s are good but I6s are simpler and more reliable. There's a reason semi trucks use I6s and those can go for millions of miles, literally.

I missed my W12 E55 AMG, car is crazy fast back in the day, with 516 torque car pull like a rocket. Even today E55 will still give a lot of new cars a hard time.
MCT is NOT a dual clutch. It is a multi clutch. Multi being the clutch packs in a normal automatic. However, instead of a torque converter, it uses a wet start up clutch pack. So it works the same as a normal automatic but without the pumping losses of a torque converter allowing for quicker shifts yet smooth driving and creep around town.
So daily trivia, does anyone know who was the first brand to have an engine witbout drive belts and accessory pulleys? Infiniti was running this tech in 2011 on the m35h and added it to the q50 when they introduced the hybrid model for 2014. It has been a really reliable system so far, it's nice to see the Germans putting a new spin on it adding turbos and superchargers to the mix

Inline 6’s don’t like to rev high rpm they have a very long crankshaft so it’s spinning a lot of excess weight. 6500 rpm is extremely high rpm for a straight 6, you can build it to rev higher but you lose a lot of low end torque which is why engine manufacturers use the I6 to begin with.
Yeah I was excited when I heard MB was bringing back an I6 motor but they really went crazy with the over-engineering of it. Given the fact that it's both a mild hybrid along with TT forced induction the power output still seems tame and the fuel economy isn't any better than the competitors offering standard gas TT V6 motor. This just seems like tons of extra features, future problems with non of the benefits it's supposed to provide.
This model will have to grow on me. All the (Mercedes) cars as u said are starting to look the same. Sounds good and I would prefer it in black or white.
Is anyone else confused by the electric starter and alternator? What other kind is there? Having little electric motors hooked up to electric motors seems a bit odd, I’ll have to look into it. Sharp car, but like most Benz’s how far will it make it from the dealer without issue?

New inline 6 engine, turbocharged and supercharged plus hybrid system, what could possibly go wrong?
Yeah I was excited when I heard MB was bringing back an I6 motor but they really went crazy with the over-engineering of it. Given the fact that it's both a mild hybrid along with TT forced induction the power output still seems tame and the fuel economy isn't any better than the competitors offering standard gas TT V6 motor. This just seems like tons of extra features, future problems with non of the benefits it's supposed to provide.

That unique look you keep mentioning started in 1955 and was called a 2 door hardtop convertible. Later there were 4 door hardtops starting in 1959.

This model will have to grow on me. All the (Mercedes) cars as u said are starting to look the same. Sounds good and I would prefer it in black or white.
Is anyone else confused by the electric starter and alternator? What other kind is there? Having little electric motors hooked up to electric motors seems a bit odd, I’ll have to look into it. Sharp car, but like most Benz’s how far will it make it from the dealer without issue?
