Really useful information. Thank you. Off now to get Color & Light & adding the others to my birthday/Christmas wishlists.
Thank you so much. Your references are extremely epic. I took you very seriously the moment you mentioned creative illustration.

Another great video. I come here when my art block hits. I owe you a debt of gratitude.
When life gets me down I spend the evening making art with a friend.
My 3 favorite books are:
- The Art of Anne Stokes by Anne Stokes
- Icon by Frank Frazetta
- Great Fighter Jets of the Galaxy 1 by Tim Gibson
Hey thanks so much. That means a lot and glad I can help in some small way! Thanks for the suggestions, I’ll have to check those out!

what is the stand you using for the cintiq?
Hey! I found a tutorial on how to set it up.
I used an arm like this: amzn.to/2BB32Gd
And followed these steps: www.fantasio.info/2013/09/cintiq-13hd-and-ergotron-arm-few-month.html
I'm not the type of person who enjoys reading cuz I tend to get confused at books cuz I don't understand what it says (not to mention those top books have long sentences which is the main reason why I don't like reading), besides, I'll quickly forget what it says minutes later.
Good video but I would have preferred no music. I love Loomis's style but I can't do it ... yet.
Thanks! Yea, this video is rather old now. I've gotten better at sound balancing (at least I like to think so!) haha.
I can buy a book just with you pictures in different colors and lights ,,,
Can you suggest any online 2d animation course?
I hate to say it, but I don't know of anything off the top of my head. I am completely self taught when it comes to animation. I know for a fact there are some other good UA-cam channels dedicated to that. You might want to start there. Hope that helps :)
can you stop that annoying music, this video is very good
I made this video quite a while ago and have learned a lot about editing since then! If you check out my Top 5 Video Game Art Books I think you'll see the production value has increased a bit :)

Music is too fucking loud
So of those 5 books, which of them would you really recommend for a beginner artist who eventually wants to break into the industry?
I've been trying to teach myself how to draw for about 6 month's for now (so I know very little.) and I've been looking for some books to help guide my art?
Or would you not reccomend any of those books for somebody who is as novice as me?
Hey! I think Color and Light by James Gurney would be the best. It is packed with a bunch of visuals and goes through complex situations in a very easy to understand sort of way!
Thanks for the advice! Consider yourself having earned another subscriber!
Just now saw this. Thank you! Means a lot :)
micheal hampton drawing anatomy is best for beginer
It depends on skill level the books shown above are intermediate to advanced.
If I were to recommend (I am also teaching myself too, it took me a lot of time to figure out which books to get so I want to help you)
1. Figure drawing by Andrew Loomis (for figure drawing)
2. Figure drawing design and invention by Michael Hampton
3. How to render by Scott Robertson (book from the video)
4. How to Draw: Drawing and Sketching Objects and Environments from Your Imagination by Scott Robertson and Thomas Bertling (all about perspective)
5. Any human anatomy book which you like.
This is enough for start, I am planning to learn colouring and theory after a year when my figure & environment drawing skills are bit better.... Hope this helps...
