Man, i remember back when i first played Smash4. Back, when the DLCs weren't out, i SUCKED at playing any swordfighters. I don't know why, they were just so awkward for me to play, the attacks felt slow and "too smooth" for the game. And then ROY released, i tried him out, and for some reason, i did way better with him than any other character (until Corrin came out). And somehow, consequently, he made me better at playing any swordfighting character on the roster. In fact, i was better with swordfighters than with any other character, with few exceptions (i didn't have mains back then, and still kinda don't). In a way, Roy is the character who really upped my skill as a Smash player (not that i was actually very skilled, i could only fight CPUs during that time)
Isn't Mario well rounded? Good recovery, busted edge guarding, good combos, good combo escape, he can zone, like what Isn't well rounded about his kit?
If you fight Mario on a stage like FD, TAC or Kalos, I would say he is well rounded. But bring him anywhere near BF, YS or PS2 for example and he isn't. Mario just benefits super hard from platforms and/or low ceiling stages. And because you 100% always want to ban BF and YS against him, I can't call him well rounded. It's almost as if you would bring Kazuya to FD, you just don't do that. However if we're just talking stats and moveset without any competition in mind and playing casually, I would say he is well rounded. Almost every move is used regularly in a game and his stats are as average as it can get.
@@Sillintor Two of his special moves are designed specifically to cheese recoveries, i think he could still find some early stocks on those stages in certain matchups. But i see what you mean. He definitely wants to land his ladders to get kills, but we've all played against Marios, they live and die by the fair spike as soon as you're off the stage lol

When you get hit toward a wall (or are in tumble anim toward a floor), hitting L or R just before impact lets you recover immediately, rather than getting stage spiked or left prone
I think it's something about them not being able to Teleport cancel on it for some reason? Not 100% though. If I'm wrong someone else will correct within an hour.

The VERY bottom of the wall (I mean past the normal camera even) isn't symmetrical, and there's a little notch on it that keeps you from being able to up B directly to the ledge from it. I have NO IDEA how this was a good enough argument against it, but the other "issue" was the flashing light on the stage, even with no record of anyone having any medical issues as a result. It really sucks, and basically means a good Palutena cannot be counterpicked.
@@Pslamist Honestly, after watching Mock Rock's latest video on why Final Destination is a problem. I think that the Smash Community is far too strict on any possible issues with stages. We had a good stage list, yet so many of those stages got banned or removed from play for really tiny stuff like that. It is frustrating that any slant or slight inconsistency in stages is enough for an entire playerbase to get a stage banned.
Nah, I disagree with your reasoning on hating Luigi, down b it the ONLY way a Luigi can get out of a combo, so it is easy to read. You need to be smart with it.

I love how people in Sillintor's area play with unconventional rulesets. No items, no time battles. Just fun.
