Who else came here after reading Matthew Perry’s autobiography? This show wasn’t terrible. It could have worked. Matthew (the cop brother) and Craig Bierko (the lawyer) became good friends after working on this show together. Craig was offered the role of Chandler on Friends and passed, after which Matthew was given the role. Craig didn’t speak to Matthew for two years when Friends became successful. Valerie and Matthew supposedly had a make-out session during the production of this show. Valerie denies it. Valerie and Matt both lapse in and out of speaking like characters from “Guys and Dolls” in this. The writers here are a little too in love with fast-paced snappy dialogue as humor.
Yeah, im reading right now the book, and to be honest I'm hooked on. So now, I'm looking for old tapes like this, to see how he was acting and living back then.
Wow, seeing all these old clips of Matthew Perry. I forgot he was in all these shows before Friends. And he was good! I remember I liked a lot of these characters. HIs role on Second Chances, Charles in CHarge and 90201. RIP Matthew
I think that is why he was so respected and endeared. The ability to bounce and hit it big. With good writers, these shows could have hit it big like Friends. The humility of that was still there in Mr. Perry. I bet he probably had more permanent relationships from these shows than from the cast of Friends.
Craig Bierko and Matthew Perry were both up for the Chandler character on Friends... Craig was offered the role, he passed on it, and it went to Perry. And then the two men didn't speak for two years after the casting incident due to the bad feelings involved ...
fun fact, Perry and Bertinelli had a brief fling while filming this show in spite of her marriage to Eddie Van Halen(BTW the Van Halen song "Finish What Ya Started" is the theme for this show)after learning about their domestic issues it does not surprise me that Val was looking elsewhere for satisfaction, Perry mentioned in an interview that he was partially relieved when the show ended so he didn't have to deal with the sexual tension of being around her anymore. Anyways i've been able to find every episode of this show except for episode 5 "She Loves Me", if you have that one please do upload it.
@@jakelerner8560 If I find any more of them amongst my recordings, I'll absolutely upload them. However, I'm not sure if I do have any additional episodes.
Interesting, the only time I laughed the entire time was the first time Matthew Perry came on in the living room. I also remember seeing this when I was younger when it first came out, but because we already pegged Valerie Bertinelli for her previous role in one day at a time, I had no interest in watching it then, so I never did until now.

Who's here after listening to Matthew Perry admit his crush on Valerie Bertinelli. RIP Matthew
And that they kissed each other with a Van Halen, her husband that time, unconscious in the same room.
🖐
RIP Matthew Perry.
Thanks. As you said, this was a good pilot, very snappy and fun.
It's crazy how many people read his book. He was loved RIP you're an inspiration Matty
The cat deserved an Emmy.
I came here too Rip Matty
I loved this show back in the day.

Valerie Bertinelli has amazing hair !!
Does anyone recognize this apartment as the ropers apartment from three's company? Very similar if not same set..
Well, the little window nook area seems similar but that's definitely not the Ropers set. It would've been completely struck nearly a decade earlier
I think it's the same door
i was thinking Lavern and Shirly the cali years
Had to admit Matthew is really the Chandler.
Who is here after reading his book.
The great Matthew Perry rest in peace dude
The bar tender is Jerry's dad on Seinfeld
I came for Matthew Perry, but I love Craig Bierko (aka Buzz Lightyear, iykyk) too.
jerry's dad! before the cadillac

If I recorded ep 5, I'll upload it but confidence is not high.
Thanks for commenting.
@@haveyouseenthis516 sure thing. Fingers crossed.

Yeah this was bad. Convoluted and unfunny. Some solid actors here fighting through an over-wrought script
well as the writer of that script I agree with you I sucked but Im way better
