I think after 2 months its a good time to start using root tabs but it depends on the type of soil and other factors too 😊 I'm glad you enjoyed it and I will of course have updates

Thats great! I have always used RO on this tank so for me it was just an alternative product to the one I was using previously. I would definitely recommend APT sky if you decide to go for RO. If you currently have harder tap water (high kh) and are wanting to grow some more tricky soft water plants its definitely good idea

7dGH is perfect. When people talk about hard water they mean a high kh. 2hraquarist themselves recommends 7dGH. I would try add what you think is right then measure it. You will then know how much for next time

Hi, i have shrimps in my planted tank, so if I'm using APT Sky as my RO water remineralizer, i do not have to add a shrimp specific remineralizer too, right? I suppose APT Sky covers the minerals needed for the shrimps as well.
Great video Jordan! I recently purchased some APT Jazz and I was going to add them to my new setup but it seems as though I should wait a couple of months? I am using APT Complete. Instead of dosing 3ml a day, I am acclimating the plants to 1ml to reduce algae issues. What do you think is the best method? I have dwarf hair grass and Rotala rotundifolia red. Thank you!
Hi Peter, thank you very much! I would tend to say stratum is on the weaker side nutrient wise of commercial aquasoil and believe adding root tabs at the start would be absolutely fine. I dont know much on its nutrient content but I know it has minimal leaching of ammonia and from that I would say adding APT jazz now would be fine. You can definitely reduce the fert amount of Apt complete and I wouldnt recommend going over the recommend dosing. Monitor your plant health and if you think they need a bit more you can do so. The root tabs will also make a huge difference if that is the case. Thanks for the question!
@@JordanStirrat thank you so much for your input Jordan! The root tabs are in. I buried them deep but I still find that some of these capsules like to poke through the substrate after a few hours. I push them back down carefully not to break the capsule and it seems to stay. Do you ever have that issue? Would a tremendous amount of fert be in the water column if it were to say break?
@@Peter-nj2in the capsule casing itself will likely rise up but the balls will stay below. If one doesn't go in all the way its nothing to worry about but make sure that too many dont. Let me know how it goes 😊
Really wonderful products there... I feel the blackening of the stems could be a GH issue, more likely calcium and magnesium issue...which should be solved by the new APT sky... I wish I could get it in India...
Yeah at first I thought the same thing but i increased my GH and noticed little change. Adding new substrate made the biggest difference. Its seems when micro nutrients are high and nitrogen is low this issue can occur
@@JordanStirrat ah yes, low nitrogen really hurts .. My soil is Dennerle Scaper's Soil, and it's like 3 months old and really surprising it would show nitrogen deficiency like this.. Do let us know your views after a couple of weeks...if this fixes the issue we are facing then I would surely buy it ASAP ☺️
@@priyankardas2668 never used dennerle soil before, but a certain brand are use for carnivore plants which shock me , which mean it has 0 nutrient in it

good day. How many grams should I use when changing 30 liter RO water? I can't find it anywhere.
Add some and test with a GH test kit. Aim for 7 dGH

Do you reminalised only with apt sky? What is your kh?zero?
Nowadays I just use tap water but when I used ro I only used APT sky and my kh was close to 0

@@Roman-yv2kc Hard to say as I don't have the same tanks anymore. APT sky and ro allows you to make your water perfect. You get what you get with tap
