This is very interesting...I love hearing about their history and the guitars, etc. What I especially appreciate is Matthias' ability to come up with his own inventions. We all know about the Jabocaster and the Mastercaster and the Cort; but this is the first time we are hearing about the Tremolo and how he almost lost his fingers in the process of his first attempt at coming up with his own design. Amazing!!
THIS.......is what im talking about......love the true actual history of the actual guitars they played.....now lets here about that white 1976 Gibson Explorer!
This part of the story really amazes me in the techie part. Floyd Rose grew up here in Farmington, New Mexico for a time, living two streets away from me. I remember seeing him on occasion, but was a little older than myself. I'd like to do an interview with him someday, about his life here and accomplishments.
So this vid did not come up in order, I was like " where is Matthias?". Love all these vids and footage, thank you very much. Cant wait to see them on April 12th 2022 in Vegas..... It will be epic!
that's when I went. MY birthday was on the 11th. I live here in Vegas. I had a taxi reserved for a week in advance but they never came to get me. I wound up driving and missed Skid Row and barely made it for all of the Scorps.
1 story, daaang I was reallly getting into this. I reember going to see them in 1983, they put on a great show, but what stood out is everything is note from note, no errors anywhere, Very tight.
I hope you can get to Washington DC sometime Mattias there is a great music store just out of the city I work for the sister company. But they have a mecca of vintage stuff untouched hidden in their basement
WOW really 3 thumbs down... These guys are legends! My ultimate heros in the guitar world. Check my profile pic.... The flying Wee..LOL and the Legendary Explorer! I actually spent big bucks and bought a Dommenget like Matthias and its amazing! Thanks for posting this great video!
One slight correction, his first album with the scorpions was released in 79, Eddie Van Halen already had a Floyd in 79 so he didn't influence Eddie to do it. No dusrespect intended.
Mark Grant - I’m not sure Mathias was claiming to have used a Floyd before EVH. I think the way he speaks English is not quite as precise as an American speaks and when he says, “since then”, he probably means approximately that period of time. He was giving credit to Floyd, it seems. Mathias is very humble and down-to-earth and I doubt he’d lie to elevate himself.

Absolutely Amazing ❤️👍✅
you're DYNAMITE!!!!!
All these years and I somehow never really absorbed that he has a Strat on the cover of WWL rather than an Explorer. A very likeable guy.

Are you sure EVH had a Floyd in '79? I don't think he did.
Wrong! There was no Floyd on the first 4 Van Halen albums and thats why they sound so good.
Yes, Eddie had a Floyd Rose in 1979. Eddie actually helped develop it with the idea of adding fine tuners to the bridge.
@@jamesrudd8705 I think you are right. he didn't have FR until the 80's
