The CGI may have aged like milk, but I love this movie, It's probably the most underrated gem you can find. I love it's method of story telling and the characters are all great fun. Also, that "narative time traveling" you're talking about is called "Rashomon"-Style on TV Tropes.

They made the most of their CGI budget, and it perfectly fits the tone of the movie IMO. Then again, I think I have a higher tolerance for bad CGI than most people.

Same. As a kid, since I also wasn't picky on the visuals, I was able to focus on the narrative and music of that film ! And I remember I had liked it even though it was a bit weird. Back in the days, like Shrek, I thought it was good to have something different from Disney or Pixar.

Interesting fact: This film has gained a lot of culture in Poland (Similar to The Penguins of Madagascar series). This is mainly due to the cast playing and jokes referring to the behavior of a typical Pole and other funny things in this country. The dialogues there were very well done.

Ppl cry about the visuals, but wtf are they talking about?
Its a low budget animated film that isn't from Disney or Pixar. They alll look like this and its not even "bad" its cohesive, consistent and adds to charm that any non mainstream media has.

    Suggestion:
The fox and the hound 2 (worst sequel+prequel)
or Rise of the Guardians (best Christmas movie + russian santa)

The different POVs of characters in the same scenes reminds me of GTA 4 compared to GTA TLAD and GTA TBOGT.

oh I thought the scene where they analyze the stories and find the culprit was the great scene but ok, no worries, I'll listen, also I too love this movie, as for its shitty sequel, it's ok, just ok, leaning towards a bad sequel still
