It's important to keep in mind, after repotting that you keep the rose well-watered and in a humid environment so that transpiration is slowed and the tree can get super strong in its new pot 😄💖🌳🌹
What are your thoughts about potting in akadama?
I would love an update on the rose. ❤
I cried a little when he cut off the roses 🙈
Don't worry! They will grow again 😄 I also kept the little roses in water to see them bloom 🥰
and they never bloomed
@@sauravkarmakar3704 They sure did! Follow me on Instagram to keep updated with things that I do off camera 🤗🤗
@@notionbonsai Ty now i feel better 🥲
Nice one Adam. I’ll look forward to the updates to see how it fairs. Tiny roses would be very nice.
Thanks Sam! Ive had flowers on a Rose Bonsai before! 🌹 Fingers crossed, I get some this year 😄
How many people here are acting like experts saying it's going to die or he destroyed a good plant 😂 I hope they don't ever ask nurseries how they grow so much in so little time.
I’m reading the comments, giggling so much. You have to give all plants regular haircuts - sometimes down to the “stick” so you get gorgeous healthy growth later. ❤
Love this idea. Keep us posted on its progress. Love your channel!
I will Ron! Thank you very much 🤗
So basically any cutting that looks like a little tree is a bonsai for you
Not at all. Bonsai can take some time to develop 🙂 This is simply the beginning of a "Mame" Rose Bonsai
@@notionbonsai yep actually bonsai also simply means "plant in vase" but generally people use it to refer to an old piece of living plant art, usually trees as to mimic nature scaping. In any case it's correct ^^
@@lunaticplantlover Yeah exactly! Here is a documentary I created on Bonsai if you are interested 🤗

@@notionbonsaishow how is rose plant
True that….it takes time for the stage of development. Thank you for your demonstrations.
This is an amazing idea. I would love to see updates in the future!
Hey Wotomelon! I'll be posting updates of my trees and such on my Instagram 🙂🙂
Beautiful 😍.plz upload the progress of rose bonsai..
You demolished a good plant just to make it fit your little pot?
Yes
No. The tree will do well in this little pot 😄 If you wish to though! Take cuttings from everything you cut off and make new plants! 😊 You can find the longer version on my channel!
@@notionbonsai how will it do well? Roses need A LOT of soil to thrive. I was never able to have nice one's on the balcony. They just almost die but when I re-pot them to my grandma's garden they thrive.
@@sweetLemonist you forgot that not everybody is you
@@sandraswan9008 wow shocking! :)
Roses still need more soil to grow, ideally a minimum of 35cm.
Bye-bye
We need an update on this bonsai!!!! I wanna see how it looks!!
I will do updates on my Roses next season!!
This actually hurts me to watch him cut off all the parts to reduce it to a tiny skinny twig 😭
It will grow again 😊 Also you can take each of the off cuttings and create entirely new plants with them!
I love roses and didn't know you could make them into bonsai. more content about this topic, pleeeeaaase!!
It's not common to tradition I'd never do that nor would anyone in any of the clubs I'm in.
Dead heading is great for root growth.
Awww those babyy roses 😢😢...heart wrenchnggg
Don't worry! They grow again 🤗
Nice but I think it needs alot of light
Winter dormancy is the best time to do this.
Amazing
I don’t know why…yet on some videos….I do not see the CC for the captionings for the Deaf….enlargements for deaf blind. Just letting you know that. Excellency of an example for the bonsai rose. Truly beautiful.
Sorry about that! I will have to investigate to see why! Thank you for letting me know 😀
I thought I'd mention that sphagnum moss is more for aeration not moisture retention, it actually dries out very quickly, much more so than potting compost.
Thanks for this!! I find it helps keep the humidity levels up after a repot if I place spaghnum over the top of the soil 🤗
Lol !!! Anyone can make one.. now show us of that rose bonzi lived.. lol
Sure! Follow me on Instagram to stay updated on all of my Bonsai 😁
But now will it grow big or will it stay small ?
Being in a small pot it will grow a little smaller
A very nice idea i have many rose plant and I'll try this with my miniature Chinese button rose 🌹
Remember to keep it well watered! 🌹💦
Love it!
very nice work
Love rose as bonsai, I keep rose myself!! Super fun!! Nice pot too would look nice with the white flowers!!
Aw nice! Yeah! Here's hoping it grows a flower this year 😃
@@notionbonsai well it should, if you leave it to grow from here at the end of the “grow cycle” it build flower on all the new growth and you can choose ether to dead head them or let them flower!!
He didn't know channel kung lan bonsai 🗿
Good job
Hey thanks 😁
Polyclay will break down with moisture
This clay is fired in the oven. After it is properly cured it is waterproof 😄
@@notionbonsai yeah, I make polymer clay often, even the website says it's not water safe and will break down
I was just in our local nursuary asking if I could turn roses into a bonsai tree. I think I may need to go back 🤔🤣
And after 2 days it dry up😢
Hi Kristi! It's important that the tree is well watered and kept away from direct sunlight after repotting.
After a week rose died
Oh no! 😥 There are many factors to why it could have died! Did you keep it watered regularly and did it have enough roots?
so you cut off all the flowers? weird
They will grow again. It is so that there is not too much strain on the roots 🙂
@@notionbonsai wow that's interesting
Are you scottish because me too!!
Strange 😢 I didn't get why you destroyed a beautiful plant for nothing
There were multiple plants in the pot to start with 😄 I just pruned it shorter and gave it a repot! It will grow again 😁
Awesome
Nice!👏👏👏👍💕❤
Helpful tips.
Glad it was helpful!
Beautiful ❤❤❤
Thank you! 😊
Will the roses be bonsaid too?
I have chosen a variety of rose that grows smaller roses than other varietys so they will be small and in proportion yeah
Oh I love it!
🤗
I'd be amazed if it survived
It will for sure. Theres plenty of roots to keep it alive 🙂 Check out my Instagram to stay updated on all my trees if you are interested!
Love your work! What month did you do the transition from shrub to bonsai?
Hey thank you! I did this in spring! 🤗
Very nice❤❤❤😊😊😊😊
😊😊
This is a good way to kill a rose bush.
Roots needed trimming too?
I did on this particular one but if you want to be on the safe side you don't have to!
And 2 weeks later id died
Yours did? 🙁
Its was so small 😂
How did you fixate the tree?
Hey! The tree was wired into the pot 😁
Destroying a perfectly good rose plant 🙄...
The plant will do well. The plant I started with had 4 rose plants in it so I was able to seperate it into 4 different pots 🤗You can find the full video on my channel!
When I grew up I learned that people lie, like a lot, for no reason, go out of their way, spend great efforts to lie. Grow some more and realized that companies lie, it's actually rare to find a truthful brand, I thought they are regulated. I can't comprehend why they choose the harder route - lying to avoid the slight inconvenience of telling the truth. I thought I had little faith in humanity but turns out that it's still too much.
What? This is a video about bonsai. Where did all this come from
@@JB-ew1mu wait a minute...
I commented this on another video, why is it here??
Thanks for letting me know tho.
Maybe because I was watching short while clicking on notification.
To cute 😆😆🌱
Flowers on bonsai are of normal size.
Yeah 😁 For these trees I have chosen a small leaf and flower variety of rose 🌹
Why though it was cute bush 🫠🥹
To create a Bonsai! The bush had 3 different rose plants in it. I planted them all seperately 🤗
what is gonna be the water cycle for this one?
I will ensure that I water this and not let the soil try out 🤗 (but also not get too wet)
@@notionbonsai it would so awesome if you could share it bc I'm also looking to try it out since I also have a small bowl that I want to try and make a bonsai tree!!
I think it's still evaporation, condensation, and precipitation 😂
Hey can you tell me what kind of bonsai I have
Hey sure! DM me on instagram with a photo!
That isn't a bonsai at all that's just a mini rose!
It's the start of a Mame rose Bonsai. Bonsai usually take a long time to make but the Mame styled ones can be achieved in a shorter space of time 🤗
I was just wondering, how many times do you water this piece? Especially because the pot being real small?
With Bonsai that are in smaller pots they need watered a LOT more often! You can also place your mame bonsai on a tray of soil so that their roots can grow out the bottom of the pots - that way it doesnt need to be watered as much 🤗
@@notionbonsai great answer, and thanks 👍🏼
well fricken show us a few months later!

Nooooo, the flower 😢
It will grow back 😄
did it become a bonsai after few months?
It will take a few years to get some nice branches on it with a Bonsai structure. Should do well this year tho! 🙂Hopefully it flowers!
Nice 💚
Thank you! Cheers!
Hi Adam, what type of compost do you use?
Kim🍁🇨🇦
Just all-purpose compost mixed in with bonsai soil 🪴
I’m asking because here we can get it with crushed sea shells and sea weed, or ones with chicken manure, ones with sheet manure etc. so I never know what to get
And dosen't the plant die or lack nutrition or grows slow
After a few weeks it is ok to then fertilise the tree 😊
I've been dreaming of a bonsai dog wood @u@
Oh nice! I've seen a few nice dog wood Bonsai!
I can’t take risk with my plant 🪴 😢
Thats ok! 🤗

Hey thanks Caleb! Welcome to the channel 🤗
Quick note, it's pronounced bone-sai. The direct translation from Japanese to English is tree in a pot :)
This is correct! Plant in tray 😊 It's just my accent haha
Update: Two days later plant dead 🥴😂😂
The roses are doing fine for now 🤗 You can check out the full video on my channel and i'll be posting updates of all my trees on my Instagram
@@notionbonsai I'm just kidding mate😹
Cool
🤗
We should not cut flowers out of the plant if they aren't fully grown😢
I don't mind cutting them off this year to balance the energy of the rose. They will come again next year. However if you want you can put the flowers you cut off in some water to enjoy them and watch them bloom! 😊
Ok I want more give link

roses need soil and space, not good. educate 1st.
Hey Alexandre! You should check out my longer version of creating Bonsai from Rose 😄 I go into more detail about how to care for them and which types of rises do not like to be put into shallow containers
That just looks like a waste of a rose bush
I made multible Bonsai from this one bush. I'll get the flowers next year 😊
@@notionbonsai oh! Ok I thought it wouldn't flower anymore. I take back what I said lol sorry
Substrate helps to grow your bonsai quicker? Myth or fact
This depends! It is a fact that the right substrate can help a bonsai grow quicker, but it is important to note that this is just one factor among many that contribute to the overall health and growth of a Bonsai.
The substrate, or soil mix, used for a bonsai should be well-draining, porous, and able to retain moisture and nutrients. This type of substrate allows for proper root development and uptake of water and nutrients, which in turn can lead to faster growth.
However, it is important to also consider other factors that can impact bonsai growth, such as proper watering, fertilization, pruning, and exposure to light. Additionally, the species of bonsai, its age, and its overall health can also influence its growth rate.
Therefore, while the substrate can certainly play a role in the growth of a bonsai, it is just one piece of a larger puzzle and should be considered in conjunction with other important factors 🤗
It will definitely die
As long as I keep the humidity up until it develops new roots it should be okay. Check out my instagram where I post updates on all my Bonsai 🤗
kirom dehaja tuin e ko
wow
🤗
Yeh but it needs more soil to become happy...😢
You can always up pot it when it fills that little pot 🤗 Or place it in a tray of sand/grit for the roots to grow out the bottom of the pot into that!
5 days later bin it because it all died
Did you keep it in a humid environment?
Did it survive though?? 😑
It did!
How is that a bonsai...... ??
Its the beginning of a "mame" Bonsai. 🙂 Bonsai that look good can take a while to develop.
It doesn't look like a bonsai 🤨
Cualquier cosa ya es un bonsai
🤗🌳
why
You are wrong man 😊 it's not proper bonsai
For sure it is not an expensive Bonsai with a thick trunk, but as Rose goes for a Bonsai Project. This is a good little start in having a Mame one 😊 It will take some time before this one looks good lol!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
🤨
They died
Oh no! Did you keep them watered?
😕
This is the perfect way to kill the plant,
After 36 hrs all leaves fall and dry the plant
Not at all! You must ensure that you leave enough root to provide enough moisture to the leaves. Also keep the rose Bonsai in a humid environment away from direct sunlight so that transpiration is slowed and in time it will recover growing new leaves 🍃 🙂
Update : Tree died in a week
I did multiple rose Bonsai 😃 They are alive. Remember to follow me on Instagram to keep updated on all of my trees!
Destroyed a very good Rose plant
There were multiple rose plants in that one bush. I made 4 separate trees from it
ALL IS FOR A DISPLAY with Photo.
Not a good solution for long time growth
2 days later plant is dead 😅thank you for likes
They are alive 🙂 It's important to keep it in a humid environment to slow down transpiration as it recovers. Also keep out of direct sunlight. Follow me on instagram to keep updated on all of the Bonsai seen on my channel!
