- Make this very cute, whimsical mini macrame swing with me. You can put a doll, perhaps a small candle, plant or whatever small item you like. It's a happy conversation piece that will spark your imagination, living with little people.
00:17 wrapping the metal rings
03:05 making the swing
08:00 making the handles of the swing
14:57 adding the ring to make the seat
Materials used:
- 2pcs of 30mm wooden ring
- 2pcs of metal ring (size: 120mm & 100mm)
- 3mm braided cotton rope
6pcs of 120cm (back rest)
8pcs of 60cm
8pcs of 200cm (handles)
4pcs of 100cm (seat)
*add’l cord for wrapping the rings - more or less 160cm per ring

I love this! Can you tell me how you work out how long to make the cords, please? I'd like to do a bigger version for a cat bed and don't know how to work out lengths. Thanks
Hello! Thank you so much! 🥰 I was estimating the measurement the whole time.🤫 At first, I measured how long I wanted the handle/strap before tying them to the ring, like 20cm x 10 = 200cm cord. That’s how I started. For the additional cords, tied to the seat, it would be a little more than half of the cords I used for the handles. It worked out fine at the end though there will still be excess, I think the excess is helpful if any maker would want to incorporate other pattern or knots. Hope this helps. Have an amazing one! 😘

Do u think this could fit an 14-18" doll like 18" American girl doll or a 14" wellie wishes doll can u make it a little bit bigger to use for said dolls, just get bigger hoops perhaps, please do more ideas for macrame, my gd is learning how wonderful this craft is. Thanks
Hello! :) Thank you for watching! :) I just checked and tried a 16" doll and it's too small for it. You're right. Bigger hoops will work. I suggest getting a ring with a diameter of 20-28cm, like for dreamcatchers and wreaths. Hope this helps and appreciate you being here. I am inspired to keep creating.

It’s for Thumbelina or Tinkerbell. 🤫😁 Kidding aside, I really wanted to make a real life macrame swing but don’t have the time and materials right now, so I made a mini version and got a request for a tutorial so here it is. It’s simply a decor but can hold a mini plant, a candle, a doll or even a phone while charging when hung on the wall. Cheers! ✨
