Frisk, you were actually quite calm about it. Very commendable... I admittedly starting feeling bad like Harstem there. But, you really showed your cool there. Good showing man!
Just don't steal my gas. You won't like the result. (It won't finish unless you could have killed the whole base because I build my static defenses in range.)
At 6:34 Harstem says “What is he doing??” whilst his opponent is trying to ling flood him, as if his opponent is doing something outrageous. Meanwhile, on the other side of the map, you have just warp prism sniped his gas and built an assimilator on it and are trying to do the same to the other one. He is not the weird one in this story Kevin!
When I first started playing SC2 my friend and I were both Protoss and neither of us knew anything. The unbeatable strategy he would do against me in our first games was to make nothing but cannons and mass phoenix/Void Ray. No other military units, never getting warpgate, sometimes he’d use cannons to harass even into the lategame, but he’d never make anything except cannons and Sky toss. I’d love to see if that’s possible lol
Challenges: "Elite constructor worker" - You choose one of your starting probes from main base and build only with that probe, if it lost, it could be rebuild but before that no other probes are allowed to build buildings and if you want to make it harder, when you get your 1st war prism, this prism became taxi for this worker, so in order to build something you need to pack it up in prism(taxi) and deliver probe to point where you wanna build. "Retirement" - when your mineral patch or gas is exhausted, you need to send your probes which worked on this gas or minerals to retire. You could choose either send them to enemy or keep them at home, but they arent allowed to harvest anything anymore
Harstem I love this series you're doing! I would love to see you do the 'WHAT YEAR IS IT' build: Basically you just play as if it is a totally different time in star craft's history. Do a build that worked in Wings of Liberty, or in Heart of the Swarm, or hell, go all the way back and find a build from Brood War, and win with that! Keep it up, love these goofy games!
I would like to suggest the: "Told ya" So, you basically write your opponent exactly what you are doing. Somewhat like this:"Taking Second Gas" "Building The Robo" "Taking Expansion at my 6 o' clock"
As the day goes on, my soul slowly leaves my body. My senses perpetually weaken and eventually dies. By late night, I lost all sense of taste and color drains from my sight; all I see is gray. As I open the link and see our Harstem "The Poop Man" de Koning with a new video, I release a tremendous and voluminous orgasm that revives my body and gives me reason to live for another day.
This is the kind of thing that makes me love Protoss. Such a fun race, and I actually feel like I have learned how to more effectively steal gas so that I too can do suboptimal, but - more importantly - fun things better on the ladder.
Hey Harstem, I am a new subscriber and I just want to say I am so impressed that you can play grandmaster level starcraft, while providing intelligent and hilarious commentary (!!)in your second language(!!) at the same time. I am loving these videos, please keep it up, and I hope you beat Serral someday!

Macro Nexus bonanza challenge: All your Expansions must have 2 Nexuses before you are allowed to expand to a different location. (Main base not included). 1 Gate Expand or Nexus first encouraged if you think its safe. Getting the macro-nexus in each location ASAP is preferred. If things go well, 2 nexuses must always be built at the same time, or you have to macro-nexus your main before expanding.
The Mindgame: You always write to the opponent what you are doing next, but therefore no limit on strategy or unit composition: - "I'm hiding a proxy" - "I'm going to attack" - "I'm building my expansion now" - "I'm building dark templars" - ... and so on But the mindgame is, one of your announcements will be a lie.
I think one of my favourite things about this series is that it has the same feel as Day9 's old "Funday Monday" challenges, with your own unique spin on it.
Harstem was definitely the kid who would convince all the other kids into doing stupid stuff for his enjoyment. No doubt his experience in the back of the ice cream truck molded him into the yarn spinner that he is today.
I, sc2 troll, challenge you to do what I do (Choose upto 3, 1 challenge = troll, 2 = master troll, 3 = Grand Master Troll ): 1) You can never build advanced buildings in your base, you must hide it somewhere in the map. like Council, stargates, robo, etc. Gates, cyber, cannons, batteries, can be built in your base. No advanced building in your base means, no where close to your Nexus! 2) Whenever you expand, you must ALWAYS have at least 2 gateways built. 3) You can mine UP TO 4 GAS GAYSERS in the game, at any given moment.
These episodes show how mad your mechanics truly are. Can I propose an "All Aboard" challenge where all ground units must be escorted by warp prisms with speed when you want to attack. You can warp in units at home to defend your main and expansions, but if you want to attack with them before you max they need to load into a Prism. Flying units are exempt to this rule so you can use Phoenix etc. to shut down drops and vision. You can also warp in aggressively but the power field should be within their base rather than outside of it if possible. I'm sure you'll show us some great games with it.
"That's not actually a build order." ... Yeah, neither is 3 Immortal, 2 Warp Prism into gimme your gas... I think non conventional builds beat other non conventional builds :)
One thing I would really love in BGMWSS is a "Wings of Liberty" challenge. Meaning you only build units that existed back then (no Oracle, no shield battery, no blink DT, ...) and you play typical strategies that were common back then (4-gate, forge-expand, ...).
I have zero practical experience in SC2 (Like, I tried the Terran intro tutorial last week! Progress my dude), but here goes nothing, a Beating GMs with stupid stuff suggestion: Hallucinate as many zealots as possible to sponge for real ones. I'll leave you to contemplate whether or not +1 armor is good for hallucinated Zealots. Either way, IDK if that has ANY practicality to it, but bonus points if you sneak a Mothership into their main for a mass recall. (Pheonix harass if you're looking for something to do a little sooner with the Stargate)
I have a pretty crappy plan: You have to use an aggressive superbattery unit attack to kill an expand, then keep opponent on that base count and never expand to more real bases than opponent. Win with pure micro skills. Long distance mining with the aggro nexus is allowed to get eco advantage. Build order is above my pay grade, Good luck
*Idea for BGMWSS: I love all my children equally.* We don't want anyone to feel left out, so tech up quickly, all the while doing your best to produce a roughly equal amount of each unit you are able to build. I've heard Zealot/Stalker/Adept/Sentry/HT/DT/Phoenix/Oracle/Void Ray/Tempest/Carrier/Observer/Warp Prism/Immortal/Disruptor/Colossus/Mothership is a fantastic army composition and a piece of cake to control!
Manner force fields? Like... harass a mineral line, force him to pull workers, and when they return, reveal a hidden sentry or two, manner force field all his workers and kill them in one fell swoop.
Harstem, when was the last time you asked how your probes feel? While most probes remain obedient, you have a few of your starting probes really sick on mining your stuff! At least two demand adventure and will very quickly refuse to mine! They are especially keen to jolt SCVs but they are very open to inspiration. This is the probe adventure challenge!!! :D Lots of love for this amazing series! I love it!
Here's an idea. Force your opponent to do an all in attack. Use the blind spots on the map (bushes and high ground) to burst your enemy's army with loads of disruptors and enough reinforcements to clear up the remaining army. GLHF :).
Challenge: Speed Voids with Speed Prism High Templar hit squad. HTs to storm the workers, speed rays to delete the CC and the speed to run away. You can only recall if you get cornered and your entire squad is about to be killed. Since this is pretty tech intensive, it doesn't matter when you do it, i.e. can be lategame play, but the earlier you pull it off, the more bonus points.
Idea: You can only play with build orders from WOL/HOTS. You can only build units from those games and if it is a timing push/all-in you can only move out at the original timing for the build. IE, if it was an all that hit at 7:30 on the old timer, you still have to wait until 7:30 to push out.

Could You play Florencio strategy? Build a Nexus nearby enemy base just to recall probes and two zealots. Simultaneously start a second base in a corner to mass air units.
"Probe production facility / grounded mothership" For every expansion nexus you build, you also have to build an extra nexus, either to use as a macro nexus or as a proxy to do offensive recalls"
+Harstem hi - a newb here... i always see some nice controls from you and ask myself how you have done this. maybe there are more people who think so. would be cool when you would do a few vids where you put in your keyboard and mouse inputs. (like a overlay in the running game) this would help us alot ! so we could enjoy your content and learn even more :D
"The Horror! I can't look!" Challenge You may play normally however you may not allow yourself to see one of your own units die, doing so will forfeit the challenge. This will mean that in most cases you can't look at your army during fights so an A-move army such as zealots, immortals, and archons might be the play. You've also got to make sure you aren't looking at your base during a drop of any kind. Should you take me up on this challenge, good luck Captain!
i have an awful idea for a challenge. at the start of the game, have a worker always attacking every one of your nexus. it's like a time limit till you need to rebuild your bases. you are losing at least 1 worker per nexus too. it's an awful idea so maybe give it a shot. at least you will confuse your opponent
personally i think this would have been better if you stole gases in the early game too, it might actually starve your opponent of gas if you do it throughout the entire game and lead to some wonky decisions from them. would love to see you give this one another try!
Challenge: a nexus must be used for the wall off for the natural, must be done before 3rd base. Bonus if it goes down before natural nexus. Use it for shield overcharge?
Reminds me of mass CC for scans/mules. I wonder if shield overcharge makes it worth... If I can math, a fully utilized shield overcharge gives roughly 1000 health over the 14-second duration. (72/s). Maybe good with a mothership rush? Would protect the battery and the mothership has a huge shield so the battery will likely get a better value
VIDEO IDEA: I’ll call it “Base Count”. When the enemy scouts your main that alone should tell him how many bases you have. If you have 3 bases, then you should also have 3 nexus’s in your main. Each base you have also needs a nexus in your main, with your main base not requiring an extra nexus of course!
Make a video of u mining all the minerals and gas in map and starving the person out so basicly they lose from no resources. Or canon them in their base and dont let them expand.
It'd be nice if one of these opponents would just message "I'm really confused why you keep trying to take my gases while I'm still in the base.". Hahahahaha and that gets one up'd "your Harstem right?" perfect.
I was ready to play a good amount of matches today... Had to stop after the first game, because I was to drunk... Taking a shot after each supply block isnt the best way to start the day
Idea: one gas win. Only ever allowed to take the gas in your main, can't take anymore. Results in high priority upgrades and units then massive zealot fiestas lol
Hey Harstem, I have an idea, it might be interesting (or maybe you think it's boring, that's okay too). Every 30 seconds of the game, you have to spend n seconds afk, i.e. doing absolutely nothing with mouse and keyboard. For example, suppose we choose n = 6, that means you get to do stuff from 0:00-0:24, then 0:24-0:30 do nothing, and so on. Feel free to modify the numbers in whatever way you want if you think it has potential to be interesting.
How about this one? Play a normal game up to fleet beacon. Then all your allowed to build are Tempests, Cannons, and a Mothership. Oracles are allowed for Revelation. Any other non-combat units are also allowed.
Challenge: Self destruction build order - do a build order that looks really good on paper but will almost always deal more damage to yourself than your opponent. Foe example, 12 gate proxy double oracle vs Zerg. You can have 2 oracle hitting Zerg at 3:30 which seems really good but it’s very easy to scout and even if you kill an entire mineral line you might still be down in worker.
honest question: why the hyperactive clicking (i see that often with professional RTS players)?! sometimes switching between drones and army without issuing any command to either one... or giving the drone the move order with , what sounds like, 50clicks... is that just to look good on a video or am i missing something?! (since it is obvious that most of the clicks dont contribute to the effective apm and thats afaik the only apm that matters^^)

Lol, I have finally created a Twitter account, just to follow and support Mr. Harstem here, and I'm proud of it!
25:28 I feel like some IIODIS replay coming in lol!!

Challenge:
Self destruction build order - do a build order that looks really good on paper but will almost always deal more damage to yourself than your opponent. Foe example, 12 gate proxy double oracle vs Zerg. You can have 2 oracle hitting Zerg at 3:30 which seems really good but it’s very easy to scout and even if you kill an entire mineral line you might still be down in worker.
I would love to see mothership drop again... epic!
I can't believe we haven't had F2 / all army hotkey challenge yet
No control groups, no selections, only use F2 to control your entire army!
LOL DOUBLE CREEP DENY... Jeez that is huge
I think that's a first you getting called out like that lol!
honest question: why the hyperactive clicking (i see that often with professional RTS players)?! sometimes switching between drones and army without issuing any command to either one... or giving the drone the move order with , what sounds like, 50clicks... is that just to look good on a video or am i missing something?! (since it is obvious that most of the clicks dont contribute to the effective apm and thats afaik the only apm that matters^^)
