    Fantastically well done. Everyone wants to talk and talk. This was as much art as it is technically usefull. Making some changes on the very same bike and was curious to see what others are doing if at all. Hope it is riding well for you!

    Hi. I noticed your new rear wheel is laced so that your key spoke (first spoke to the right of the valve hole looking at it from the drive side) is actually a leading spoke, rather than a trailing spoke. I just laced up a pair of these Crest MK4 rims, and I'm having trouble with something. I laced up my own so that the key spoke is a trailing spoke - the first in a grouping of 4 criss-crossing spokes. This way, the valve hole is as easily accessible for a pump head as possible. This is basically what's instructed by Sheldon Brown. Here's my problem - it _appears_ as though by lacing it in this fashion, I've laced up spokes opposite how the spoke holes are drilled at an _angle_. Yes, the spoke holes are offset 1.5mm on the Crest MK4, but they are also drilled asymmetrically relative to each other - they are drilled at small alternating angles. From what I can see in your video close-ups, though, and from my reasoning, we would both be doing this - and furthermore, there's no way around this i.e. the spoke beds were drilled at the WRONG ANGLES from the factory. What do you think about this? What am I missing here?

    Great video! Definitely will help the future me upgrading my Marlin 7. Question: how do you know the right torque settings? Like for mounting the crankset, rear cassette and the breaks?

      @@francisgelgordovez9463 There's almost no difference in degrees. only 10mm higher, same replacing a fork with travel 120 mm. The results are similar. There is no negative effect.

    I'm confused, trek site says max you can go is 34T chainring. And if I'm not mistaken, you used a 36T. Would it fit?

    • @TAKUPSK
      @TAKUPSK  2 місяці тому +1

      I can fit up to 38T because I use a boost crankset 178mm chainring with a spacer. side.bike.shimano.com/en-EU/product/component/slx-m7100/FC-M7120-1.html

      Hola !! Se puede bajar el recorrido de la horquilla Fox 36 a 100 mm.???.... siendo así la Trek marlin tendría que estár espectacular , aunque penalizara algo en el peso respecto de una 34 ó 32....ya que la diferencia de precio no es muy grande?....

    Hello, I am wondering whether I should buy x caliber 7 or marlin 7?

    • @TAKUPSK
      @TAKUPSK  Рік тому +1

      If the price is about the same. I recommend the X-Caliber 7 because you will get a tapered head and a boost141 tail.

      @@TAKUPSK Thanks man, and at first I had the same plan as you but I wanted to upgrade my gear like you did but I didn't see any boost 141 anywhere so I was planning on buying a Trek Marlin 7 to make it easier to buy gear if you see a pair of wheels. If the car has a boost cover, please share it for me, but I'm at a loss, thank you bro
