Chris made Garth Brooks cry singing a Garth Brooks song. He better look at her like that he’s married to her. Welcome to the tribe! Thanks for sharing!
It's an old song. The woman is his wife, who got him on stage. He's audience-shy, so she gives him courage. She's a good singer in her own right! Another fire song from him is "Sometimes I Cry". Welcome to another rabbit hole!
George Jones hit...David A. COE... THIS IS COUNTRY...!!! NOT much he cannot sing... He is "FIRE"...TREMENDOUS HELP FROM HIS WIFE...and entire band etc. George Jones would give them all a pair of shoes... (And hey...sooner or later everyone comes 'Round to Country!!!)
It made me cry when I was going through a rough moment of my life. I cried and cried and.. I just love this song. I LOVE IT SO MUCH. If you love your woman or man hold them when the song plays.
That woman is his wife. Listen to his new songs. We had it blasting on Thanksgiving. Country isn't the old time stuff. It is music you feel to your toes. So now we have old school and new country.
The lady is his wife.❤ The song was written by Dean Dillon and Linda Hargrove, and has been sung by a lot of artists, but Chris's version is fire. True country soul. Check out Fire Away by Chris. Heartwrenching!!!😊
Chris is from Lexington Ky not far from me. The lady is his wife. Hes a super nice guy and very humble. He has written many top hits for other artists but Tennessee Whiskey is one that has been redone several times. Check out his early work "what are you listening too" or another from Austin City Limits "I was Wrong"! Great reaction, keep them coming
I burst out laughing when you said, "is it part of the performance...or do they have a thing?"-- and I'm thinking, "Yeah, they have a thing...something like 14 years of marriage and 5 kids together, I guess we could call that a thing." If you watch them enough, I'm guessing you'll believe it's real, and how cool is that? To be married, have all those kids together, work together, travel together, write and make music together (any one of which is enough to blow a relationship to pieces) and still be that crazy about each other? Also...his music isn't exactly country, though he is from Kentucky and he is steeped in country music, which is reflected in what he does. But he is also steeped in the blues, R&B, Soul and Roots music, all of which are also an integral part of his singing, playing, eriting...and the musical choices he makes in all three.
The song is a cover/mashup of two very iconic songs and artist. Tennessee Whiskey x George Jones are the lyrics and I'd Rather Go Blind x Etta James is best sample/rythm. The lady he's staring at is his Wife.

Is a great song along with Fire Away, which you need the video and a box of tissues. He also did a great interview about the video. Also Maggie's Song, Starting Over. The phone book he can literally sing anything.
George Jones was number two in 1983. David Allen Coe first wrote and recorded it in 1981.Chris Stapleton revived it recently and brought it back from the dead.
Tennessee Whiskey" is a country song written by Dean Dillon and Linda Hargrove. It was originally recorded by American country music artist David Allan Coe for his album of the same name Tennessee Whiskey, whose version peaked at number 77 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart in 1981

Although Chris didn’t write this old country song, no one before his cover performed it like it. Like all the great artists he even makes covers into his own. He brings his soul and blues to the song.

You need to go down the Chris Stapleton rabbit hole….. He is in his own lane, try it’s a mans world, cold, whiskey sunrise, I was wrong, barely alive, what are you listening to, fool me again… Love your reaction…
He wrote the song. He spent a lot of years writing songs for other musicians. The lady is his wife. She talked him into performing himself. Thank goodness she did.
It’s his wife and they have I think 5 kids so they def have chemistry….they are truly one couple who adore each other. Another song which will make you cry is “Fire Away”. He is such a good man and a huge family man.
Chris' roots are country and blue grass, but he is in a genre of his own. He blends country, soul and R&B. The man is amazing at singing, writing, and performing. Check out his cover of It's a Man's World. He is called onstage by the performing band, and he blows them and everyone away!
David Allan Coe originally recorded it in 1981 but Chris does it even better in his 2015 version. His wife does a great job with backup too. He has a lot of great tunes. He could sing the phone book. He is a good song writer too from eastern Kentucky. He has a bluesy country sound. There are a lot of different styles of country these days.
Chris is actually from Paintsville KY. Where I am from not Lexington. He’s a good ol country boy with a big heart. He will never forget where he came from. I’m so glad to see everyone listening to him is loving it. He has some songs that aren’t as well known. Barely Alive is one of the when he was with The Johmpson Brothers. It is amazing and shows his natural talent. His voice is one of a kind. This song too was also released in like 81 by David Allen Coe. George Jones also released it later. That is his wife Morgane they have 5 children. Please try Barely Alive. You will love it. Also he was with a group called the Steal Drivers they have some awesome songs too. Thanks for the great video.

This is a Chris’ take on the old George Jones song, Tennessee Whiskey. The woman is his Wife, Morgan’s Stapleton. He’s top notch when it comes to singing any type of music. He’s my favorite from today’s music!!!
He writes his own music. OMG, you have so many of his songs to enjoy ahead of you! Dive deep---try “I Was Wrong, “Sometimes I Cry” “Amanda” “What Are You Listening to?” Starting Over, Fire Away, Cold, Either Way, Death Row
"I Was Wrong," live at Austin City Limits ... vocals and a wicked guitar solo at the end. Always choose his live versions over studio versions with the exception of, "Fire Away," which has his only 'produced' video, which supports his message of mental health awareness. "Death Row," "Cold," "It's a Man's World," (he was invited up out of the audience to sing - it's not even his band, no practice, completely slays it!), "Watch You Burn," (a message to the Vegas shooter and other mass killers), "Sometimes I Cry," live at Bing Lounge. Take a Pentaholic to suggest other great music. Yes, I call this Chris country. Lol. He’s more bluesy/soul/and Deep South goodness if you ask me. His wife singing with him, Morgan, is equally as gifted with her vocal harmonies. They make some sweet sweet music together. Looking forward to seeing them in concert in a few months. For more like this, listen to “Sometimes I Cry”. For more on the country/folk side, listen to “What’re You Listening Too”. But like PTX, you can’t go wrong with anything you choose to listen to from Mr. Stapleton!!
This is actually a cover by David allen coe in 81 i think. But chris stapleton made it popular.. The woman on the stage with him is his wife. And she was actually kinda the one that made chris go out of his comfort zone and sing/play his own music.. He was a song writer and have written songs big singers... I love Chris stapleton.. It just hits different... And if you find his live versions always do the live ones instead of the studio recordings.... His voice really shines through on stage... 2 other songs you should check out is sometimes i cry and death row. Olso his performance with Justin Timberlake is pretty dope... I know there is another big one yoi should react to but im having a blank right now. So ill get back yo you on that one... . And there are 3 artist i like seeing their first reaction to and thats. Harty mack, angelina jordan and chris stapleton..
LOVE CHRIS STAPLETON! My favorite country/blues artist. Other great songs from him: Fire Away What Are You Listening To Sometimes I Cry Cold I Was Wrong
This is not typical country music. It’s very bluesy. He’s mainly a country singer but with a strong blues vibe. Since I love country (mostly the older classic country) and also blues, it just about a perfect song for me 💕

country/blues/southern rock... was in a bluegrass band earlier in life too. Try "Sometimes I Cry" live at the Bing lounge... I love "Starting Over" the official video.
Country singer Merle Haggard wrote this song. Morgan, the woman to his right, is his wife. Chris has severe stage fright. Having his wife with him helps him perform on stage. No matter what kind of music you like...when we hear someone with true talent, it doesn't matter the genre of music, we recognize talent, soul, passion, and authenticity. Most people in the USA consider Chris Stapleton as a country singer but he is so much more! This man sings with soul, passion, and pure heartbreak. He has pure Soul in that gritty voice with an incredible blend of Country, Blues, R&B, and even some jazz drumming from his drummer. Loving the band, especially the harmonica. I think all music would be improved with the addition of a harmonica but that's just me. His runs are all different, and yet, each sounds amazing. I am not much a fan of country music but this man will bring me to country singing like that. There is another country, R&B combo that hits me in the heart and soul. Please listen to it and do a reaction, I think you'll love it. "Conway Twitty ft. Sam Moore - A Rainy Night in Georgia". You'll love me after listening to it.

Stapleton!!
This is country. He has written a bunch of number one songs before solo career. He's the best.
Stapleton is Totally Awesome and Unique.
John Mayer and Chris Stapleton... Slow dancing in a burning 🔥room 🎶💕
Other great songs from him:
Fire Away
What Are You Listening To
Sometimes I Cry
Cold
I Was Wrong
When it's done right, country should move you to your soul, I'm closing in on 80 years old and heard nothing better in many years.
This is not typical country music. It’s very bluesy. He’s mainly a country singer but with a strong blues vibe. Since I love country (mostly the older classic country) and also blues, it just about a perfect song for me 💕
Love this man can sing anything
he is truly a genre of his own. check out some of his earlier stuff "Hard Livin' "," the devil named music", " nobody's lonely tonight" all of his songs have great lyrics and music and all are FIRE!
Love this guy's vocals. 1st time U heard it, I was a fan
"Tennessee Whiskey" is a country song written by Dean Dillon and Linda Hargrove. It was originally recorded by American country music artist David Allan Coe for his album of the same name Tennessee Whiskey, whose version peaked at number 77 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart in 1981.[1] George Jones' 1983 version of the song was included on his album Shine On, and reached number 2 on the Hot Country Singles chart.
The song has been covered by several artists, including Chris Stapleton, whose breakout performance of the song at the Country Music Association (CMA) Awards with Justin Timberlake propelled the song to a greater level of popularity. Stapleton's version of the song has been certified 6× Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA"
country/blues/southern rock... was in a bluegrass band earlier in life too. Try "Sometimes I Cry" live at the Bing lounge... I love "Starting Over" the official video.
I loved him with The Steeldrivers. Drinking Dark Whiskey is one of my favorite.
Chris Stapleton...I Was Wrong...an amazing song.
