Thank you for the advice. I had the same problem. I had both mirrors replaced under warranty over 3 years ago on my Mazda 6 GL. They were doing it again and thanks to your help I have fixed it. Thanks from Australia.
The problem I got, is that it doesn't do anything, my left mirror folds in and out, but right mirror just makes the noise from the motor, but doesn't fold in and stays folded out at all times. Which is annoying because you can still continue to hear the noise. Does this need a new motor or would this way also fix the problem?
@@Gorotth did this work? I have same issue, motor turns and mirror never moves (i wrapped a hair band around the mirror control knob so the dial stops turning where the motor isnt engaged
I'm so mad. Mine stopped working while being folded in. I suspect someone hit it because it just doesn't make sense and I come back to it not working. I can hear the motor turning but it just doesn't move the mirror. May as well try this out and see if it works since I might have to order a new door mirror anyway....
@@zl132 sadly for me the gears grinded and were damaged. However by doing this it loosened it up quite a lot which allowed me to at least manually pull it back. Definitely works and if your gears seized due to lack of lubrication this will most likely fix your issue. Just don't forget to use the correct sprays.
This always happens after washing my car, and up to now has cleared after a day of two. I washed my car yesterday and the problems returned. I've tried popping the cover and as predicted, I don't have the expertise. I'm now going to try squirting some silicon lube in by the mirror. Thank you for the tip. BTW I have WD40, plus Graphite, PTFE and Silicon lubricant sprays. Anyone know what's best?
I don’t have the folding mirrors but my passage mirror doesn’t adjust when I try to adjust it, does anyone know what fuse I need? Mazda Mazda 6 isport btw
Thankyou Sprayed some WD 40 behind the glass on 2020 mazda 6 and worked.

I think this could be fixed by stripping the mirror open, it sounds like it has just come loose from the splines that hold it in place👍
@@doolanbrian I have the same problem so I will give it go...

Oh my. A brand new mirror ordered and fitted when all it needed was a bit of WD40? This is a common issue for Mazda mirrors. Deary me.
WD-40 won't do as grease. It only temporarily lubricates, but it's not intended as lubricant.
Hola que tipo de lubricante uso gracias
