One of the best 3 hours of my Life! Congratulations everyone! My two favorites rider Dandois & Champion for this year Jean William Prevost, Watching from the Philippines!
As an MTBer, all I can say is WOW, that was some amazing stuff, insane balance, haven't seen flatland since the late 80s and man has it progressed. As an MTBer, I've only watched slopestyle and such events and while very different disciplines, I think what I found lacking with this was the lack of OPO tricks, no one seemed to be able to spin/do tricks opposite to their favoured direction, in slopestyle the best/top athletes are throwing down OPO tricks and you can't even tell them from the regular ones they're so clean. I think in flatland, this is where the next step is, to start spinning against your favoured direction or doing rear wheel tricks if you're known as a front wheel specialist etc.
While I agree that when someone works out how to do opposite stuff in flatland it will absolutely change the game I think you may be underestimating just how ridiculously difficult all of this stuff is. As amazing as those slopestyle guys are it's not really comparable to this. I understand your veiwpoint and Flatland will get there but I guarantee that if you have a go at this stuff you'll understand why it hasn't got there yet.
You do not ride flatland, you do not understand the structure of these tricks. People do OPPO stuff both ways like Chase Gouin, Kevin Jones or Moto Sasaki (just to name a few) choose not to do it OPPO and go with the flow and link with combos, especially for contests. Totally different concept compared to MTB. Apples to Oranges.
Didn’t always agree with the judges but can’t fault them. The riding was incredible. Nice to see the young ones coming in with fresh tricks and some the more seasoned riders showing they haven’t yet peaked. Level of difficulty so high.
To have this, you know you have handled it. Flatland is very peculiar, and the riders are also. There's depth that each aesthetic display that is cause trauma. 12 months no move then step and let out a screem. I know how trauma is. I broke both my legs on my fist time on a freewheel ride that was my friends bike who was 11yr old as was I. Who don't live a skid? A bad bridge and pole accident. From the months no walk, move and you can imagine the rest. Now life the veteran and what echo only that one thing. Calm lucky charm. Stay gold. Yeah the spine broke too. Cha ching. All that only energy, and I feel so full of holy communion. Wish it never end. The fire that is in the heart.
What a performance from all the riders. Such a great production from the commentary to the MC, videography and overall organization of the event. Very happy to see the flatland scene getting the exposure it deserves especially here in the US. Congrats Jean William to the win well deserved!
Absolutely stellar riding & setup!! Far too many years between comps, let's make sure Red Bull knows the BMX community wants this back years after years! Let's go!!!! 🚴♂❤🔥🤸♂ Prevost is soooo right about the eyes on the sport & what that would do in front of the world! People don't know it yet, but once they see it they always realize the coolest art/sport/way of life is on a bike spinning in circles!! hahaha Great work boys!
Been riding for 40 years and have brocken many bones learning tricks and bieng too brave, so much respect for all these guys, the time and practice they must put in must be truly epic.
Darryl is a master of disguise. I want to believe his outfit is just him mocking Chris. Epic trolling and not some corporate executive's idea of what one of the most unique and legendary presenters in BMX should look like.
Looks like a unicycle competition! Just spinning on front or back wheel? Nobody surfing or sitting on the handlebars and riding backwards like we used to or Eddie Fiola's moonwalk. I miss the old school variety of tricks! These guys have great balance!
The dude in the black with white shoes is pretty good and has some good moves but he's done the same thing every round. That phoenix move he's done is sweet. But he needs to add more to it
Aye, know wh a t she think. A woman's will is God's will. Now she say she going to die. The fire in here heart too. And they all must be they homeless. Feel all like she must get down on her knees and start to pray. Stay safe around the globe. Flatland is my fave. Las Vegas, NV USA.
It looks to me that the winner Jean Williams practice with two bikes at one time. His center of gravity appears to me to be super imposed. TT excell. Las Vegas, NV USA
Careful about trying with bikes that have a handlebar that rise above then navel. It could snap both your legs because the leverage when wedged against your thighs if you slip into a tetracycline!
It's always ideal when you can just change that steering Line adjustment. My naish bar has that but I've found to perfectly tune sometimes you have to either change the knots or sometimes tie a figure 8 knot on the pigtail sometimes. Shrunk and stretched lines are so frustrating!
There's a moment in the comp were the announcer stated that a rider was doing some sort of wizardry. And that struck with meaning because I am a Harry Potter fan and decrypted the Marauders Map and remember it's many circles of notations and depicted references. The rhetorical meaning of flatland wizardry and; consequently, the structure of the Maraders Map Nathan Hollins decryption has binding implications of a substantial majority. The expression of flatland must be inbred with a common respect under the strain of wizard transition according to the notion of a binding hash law with which initiated a meta-out of supremacy.
When I do wizardry on my bike I am rolling at 9 miles per hour and hopping with my bike towards a vinyl New England posted fence at an angle of around 20 degrees and hitting my pegs through the magicaly transfiguration of the fence with the force of an adult male baseball bat swing that has left a loud bell toll of the several steel chain column structures that proceed an some odd 25 degree inclined paved surface, at Power Inn Skate park in Sacramento California USA, Granite Regional Skateboard Park amenity near the bleachers out the park.
There is such a thing that I know of as flatland wizardry. Where magic is actualized by the way of a solum lonely flatlander is merely Araya hope acquainted by a grater flatlander and the greater flatlander does within his reticle of tricks a classic trick, (live-a-skid)and the undeveloped flatlander miraculously does a next generation trick.
How fast are those things? Top speed? What’s the handles like on a steep decline? Are those things backed by copyright infringement and patent pending? Please don’t deface the name of Redbull: Energy Drink. It’s unintelligent.
Think about the work, it like all work. The many Flanders that do a 9 to 5 with a hammer and nails. There shouldn't be a lack of economics. Enough for a revolution. You can 360, you get a studio appartment. Manual acrost a city block and your living in a luxurious apartment. Steamroller, G-spin, McCircle, you have a single family home. Just a little more and your in a two story house. Theses guy's live in mansions. Enough of this family business. Living are dreams. Leaving the family business! Get away from the family. Living the dream. A new way, a new world, a new life! All you get to see.
"inspired by brake dancing" LoL, i guess you never heard of Nicholas Edward Kaufmann or Lilly Yokoi and the many others that were riding long before brake dancing was a thing, it was called Artistic cycling which has been around since the late 1800's, that mixed with break dancing inspired flatland. if you're going to disseminate facts do it correctly.
The speed and accuracy by Yu Katagiri is mind-blowing!
Love how much my fellow Japs are able to show their skills and compete with other players. My respects to all the riders here.

🤯 best flatland comp 🤙🏼
This is absolutely nuts.
Also I like how Chad DeGroot looks like a music teacher. He's the best.
a flat land video game where you go head to head vs other riders online would be sick.
Dub flipped the switch and showed out 🌪 🔥
A final of two pure rear-wheel riders, wow. I remember when that style was still exotic.
Love the format!!
🔥🔥🔥 20:47 Katagiri 🔥🔥🔥
Matt Wilhems bike is so beautiful, it might of just inspired my next bike
Congrats Dub, Yu and all riders! #LongLiveFlatlandBMX
Watching you makes me smile. Awesome
Totally Insane Riding and He Rode for Himself.Flat is So Progressive.
Katagiri by far had the coolest combos in my opinion. Too bad he didn't ride as well in the finals as he did earlier.

Never seen something so dope in my life never knew about these tricks thank you Red Bull
OMG i forgot about this sport! Took me right back to the 90's!
Didn’t always agree with the judges but can’t fault them. The riding was incredible. Nice to see the young ones coming in with fresh tricks and some the more seasoned riders showing they haven’t yet peaked. Level of difficulty so high.
How about Varo Hernandez getting shafted?
Doyle and Nau on mic is awesome

I have been listening to Darryyl for 6 years ...first time saw his face 😅✨
Darryl is a master of disguise. I want to believe his outfit is just him mocking Chris. Epic trolling and not some corporate executive's idea of what one of the most unique and legendary presenters in BMX should look like.
LETS GOO !!!!!!!!!!
Jean William la fixa máxima 🔥💎
Yu katagiri 🥇🥇🥇
Loved the zoom in to the empty reader board 😂 just a couple extra seconds and we might have actually seen what it did in the run
Mad skills on fixie, but the triple flange is just mad.
Looks like a unicycle competition! Just spinning on front or back wheel? Nobody surfing or sitting on the handlebars and riding backwards like we used to or Eddie Fiola's moonwalk. I miss the old school variety of tricks! These guys have great balance!
Dang Mr. Doyle and Nau, taking to the commentator role like fish to water. Great to see! 🤘
Amazing review.😍
I'd rather Chad Degroot be riding and not judging. That Japanese kid is so fast, most people can't see what he's doing. Fantastic riding.
Québec Force 😉👍
I’m sorry but these people are literally defying physics, I’d love to learn something like this but I don’t even know where to start…
The dude in the black with white shoes is pretty good and has some good moves but he's done the same thing every round. That phoenix move he's done is sweet. But he needs to add more to it

Let's Go!!!!!!
I vote for Yu Takagi, more techniques he has.
Someone fix the audio lag is atrocious.
Yeah, like 2 minutes out
Jean William prevo fire 🔥 how he won semi final took out dondois
Alex Jumelin was 💯% robbed!
He whooped Moto Sasaki and didn’t get through!
It's always ideal when you can just change that steering Line adjustment. My naish bar has that but I've found to perfectly tune sometimes you have to either change the knots or sometimes tie a figure 8 knot on the pigtail sometimes. Shrunk and stretched lines are so frustrating!
Daryl look like he in the cali cartel😂
Darryl Nau in khakis and a tucked in button up shirt fucked me up.
Can someone please fix the audio lag.
For pasta's sake please tell the guy stomping around in the riders' way to not stop and stand in a camera's sightline.
Otherwise, awesome!
Adams needs more respect for how slow he rides, which is more difficult.
Prevost is a legend...but katagiri got robbed...360 bike flip and fast changes is the hardest thing ever. thats why hes the only guy doing it
2:12:43
nice
1:38:40
Skip to 15:30 for the start of the comp

Wait what's this contest called again?

คิดแล้วไม่อยากได้แล้วมันช้ำใจซื้อมาก็โดนด่าได้ก็โดนเขาขโมย
japanese are raising
that announcer in red cap is an eyesore to the performance so annoying
what's the guy with the red hat doing? it's so distracting
The judge OBVIOUSLY picked YU in the final because he’s Asian lol the winner DEF won by a landslide.
