He flew 40 hours hours to debut this song for the ARMYs at the Coldplay concert because he’ll enlist in the military for 1 and half years. This is so special. That’s why he’s so emotional.
I THINK it is high time for them to watch some funny compilations of them, some interviews (especially those in English) + run bts to just get more into their personality. These guys will enjoy their music way more if they get to know them + when they know who’s singing right now etc.

"The astronaut" is one of the most important songs for ARMY, it was the last song Jin released before joining the army and it expresses his love for ARMY 💜💜
Jin and Coldplay relationship goes way beyond this. BTS and Coldplay did a song together called "My Universe" for which Chris himself went to Korea amidst Covid lockdown. They performed together in AMAs, Chris gifted his guitar to Jin as Jin is a longtime Coldplay fan and also the astronaut was co-written by Coldplay as Jin was supposed to enlist right after releasing this song. The whole theme of the song was bidding goodbye to his fans for a short period. He is the astronaut and the little girl represented ARMY.

great explanation for the guys---I would just add, it was my understanding that it was Jin's message for ARMYS-when I am with you, there is no one else, right before he enlisted. BTS almost never until Chapter Two specifically talked about romantic love---excuse the pun, but more universal--hence the young girl as ARMYS. It was also Jin's wish to not leave and we see this played out in this song.

The reason this feels more like a moment than just another music video is that it marks a temporary farewell from Jin to ARMY, as he became the first BTS member to embark on his military enlistment.

The MV is about an Astronaut got stranded on earth and doesn’t have emotions until he met a human, that young girl (ARMYs), who makes him feel that earth is a beautiful place to stay, someone who taught him to feel new emotions. That’s why instead of getting into the ship to return in space, he chose to go back. Earth became his new home and that kid became his new family.

A bit late, but I am Argentinian, and this was announced when the Coldplay concerts were already sold out. They were in Buenos Aires for six concerts initially, but they sold out so fast that they kept adding, and at the end they made 10, mind you that this is the biggest stadium in south america.
So the Army's that already had the tickets for that one night had the best night for sure. Jin was driven with police security like they use for politicians (they show a bit in a bangtan bomb).
Army's all around the country were playing BTS music in public, driving in purple decorated cars, it was huge and so much fun.
Jin made this song for ARMY when he enlisted in military service. The little girl represents ARMY. He always will come back to us. BTs members love us- we really are the luckiest fandom on earth!

there's two things in the MV that people can't notice that i'd like to point out cuz they have a deep meaning which is the first thing if you notice at the beginning of the MV around the space ship they were little trees on the ground, and if you don't know it take around 10 years for a tree to become a full long blossomed one, as we can see after jin long journey on earth while he stayed here with the girl until the space ship got fixed, when he went back to the ship you can see the tress have grown around it, which means jin stayed around 10 years on earth, and the fun thing is the year this song was relaesed it was BTS 10 years anniversary since they debuted so that was a huge deep meaning about it.
And the second thing is when jin decided to leave the space ship and go back home to the girl which represent ARMY. we can see he was stooping cars on the road to take him home, and we sow two cars passed by but they didn't stop for him but finally the 3rd one stoped for him, which represent that Jin will be coming back from the military after 2 years of serving, that what the 2 cars meant, and even the car that picked him up is a car similar to a one we've seen in BTS Mv before that takes all the memebers toghther to go home.

You could have also watched a fan video of Chris introduction on Jin. It was very heartwarming. This was Jin's first solo project before he enlisted. The girl represents ARMY. This song was his gift to ARMY before he enlisted. He was an astronaut from another planet and landed on earth. He met the little girl and became his family. He left with the spaceship but came back to the girl or ARMY. Message then is like he leaves for military but will be back for ARMY.
Coldplay concert was at Buenos Aires right after the debut of The Astronaut. He performed only for just one day. He wanted to perform few weeks before he enlisted. And Coldplay were his idols since he was young. So it's a dream come true for him.

Yes, they co-wrote it with Jin. Jin asked them for a song he could do and dedicate for ARMY and Chris gave him this song and they worked together on it. Jin wrote the Korean lyrics.
Every time Jin belted out "I love you!", you can feel the emotion as if he's making sure Army knows how much he loves us and that he'll be back because he was literally about to go into the military and we were all feeling sad and worried about what it was going to look like with BTS slowly leaving to go serve. Jin comforted us with this and it was such a special moment. Love his relationship with Coldplay ❤

Among the BTS members, the one with the widest vocal range who can hit the highest and lowest notes is Jin! Some people think Jimin or Jungkook have the widest range, but that's not the case, and it's something Namjoon, Suga, Jimin, and even Jungkook have mentioned multiple times. If you pay attention to the songs, Jin does some of the special backing vocals, like in the song 'Come Back Home', which is a very clear example. (Of course, the others have amazing vocals too, no doubt about it. I'm just talking about Jin's abilities here)
On the other hand, as you've seen, Jin's live performances are incredibly strong. To the extent that if it weren't for the sound of his breathing or the parts he might skip-things that indicate he's singing live-you wouldn't even notice it's live! He sometimes changes the notes and makes the music even more beautiful. He's incredibly talented

Jin wrote this touching song for Army fans. He's been a longtime fan of Coldplay and invited Chris Martin, who at first didn't think their styles would match, to come and perform with BTS in So.Korea. Since then, they've become friends. Chris of Coldplay (like the rest of us Army fans) has also become protective of BTS as well 🙂 from haters.

I honestly think Jin has a strongest voice in Bts. And I love his solo work a lot, you easily can listen it all day.
Chris and Jin have a very warm relationship. Jin was the one behind the first collaboration between Goldplay and BTS, Chris even gave Jin his guitar. They constantly support each other in SNS.
He definitely has the most stable, consistent voice..especially during concerts. He never misses his lines..just a little voice crack here and there in the earlier years, lol. He's my favorite vocalist in BTS for sure. Plus he's the most adorable man in the world to me right now. 😊💜💜💜
I definitely noticed that his voice projects well and sounds very strong in the concert! One person described it as piercing, like a light house peaking through darkness and it’s exactly like that!

I love how Jin surprises people with his high notes, when he's called "silver voice" because of his amazing falsetto and belting notes! For more moments like that, I recommend Awake, Epiphany, Crystal Snow (he has an iconic triple high note in there!) and Running Wild!
This is such an emotional song for me. Jin was the first to enlist and he gave us this song as a gift to army (during the MV you can see how it's about him leaving the litle girl - she represents army - alone for a while, to go to his own mission, but still chooses to go back to her - us - at the end). And even though Jin is already back, it stills make me so emotional, I love him so much...

One thing to keep in mind.. BTS songs and their music videos will often be full of symbolism about their relationship with Army. In The Astronaut, Jin is an alien who's spaceship crashed to earth. The little girl represents Army. BTS members do a good job of caring for Army and Jin represents that in this mv. He can now leave knowing the little girl can ride her bike by herself. But when he reaches the mother ship, he realizes that "Home" and "Family" (crossword) are with the little girl and so he changes his mind and goes back to her. (Chris Martin makes a cameo as the news reporter on tv.)
Wish you could've watched the version of Chris introducing Jin who had flown a long way just to perform this 1 song which he dedicated to Army. Chris' speech explains it all! Ar-Jin- tinia was trending on SM. This was Jin's parting song which dropped just a few weeks before he entered compulsory military service.
This Coldplay tour, called Music of the Spheres, is still the one they are currently on. Coldplay has a very special relationship with BTS and are like their big brothers!

Jin has a distinctive voice that adds value to BTS' sound. Jin wanted to be an actor and leans towards music that serves as soundtracks to film, TV dramas and other media.
Yes this was an incredible moment. As many mentioned, Jin was the first BTS member to start his military service. Coldplay helped him write this song as a short goodbye to ARMY. Actually Chris did a short introduction right before Jin came on stage that your video missed. Jin flew 30+ hours from Korea and 30+ hours back just to have this chance to perform this song to ARMYs live. He enlisted right after. This was SO fucking emotional it's hard to even describe. We knew we won't see him for almost two years and no one really knew how things will go. He was the first one to enter. This was all new territory. Thankfully, he is back now and so is JHope. Five more to go!! And they have all taken turns making content before they leave to fill in the time. So actually this military hiatus doesn't feel too bad. But at that point it felt so uncertain.

The vocal line can hit the high notes prettily alright (Truth Untold, Louder than Bomb, Your Eyes Tell, etc...) Jin hit the highest note on their song "Crystal Snow" which I will not spoil for you...when you get to that song, Jin did something there that most reactors thought was Jimin..heheheh Nope it's Jin! Wish you saw Chris Martin's speech prior to Jin singing live (Jin travelled 36 hrs one way from Seoul to Argentina to sing this for the ARMY)...do watch "My Universe" documentary if you want to see Chris and BTS collabed this Billboard hit together. But he has released his album "Happy" 2 weeks ago so go have a listen :) The Astronaut hits some nostalgia as this was huis "see you later" to ARMY before he went into the military.

Everyone was my bias at a point except Jin but as i'm growing older and the more i personally dig deep into him its just never ending treasure. Lot of things army don't hype up about him nor he does about himself. He is very mystery to me interms of personality when i started to understand him i can't stop loving him. He is my ult now

You need to see a little more of the vocal line separately. All the boys reach high notes, even though Jimin and Jin are mostly left with that job. So, please! React to this compilation to learn a little more about the vocal line. Jin is incredibly talented and reaches very high notes and is always highly praised by critics and singing teachers, one of his most iconic moments is in the performance of Cristal Snow when he reaches a G5 on a triple high note (it's worth watching! It's an incredible song!).

Jin can sing the high notes really well! All the vocalists can hit the high notes, but He and V can probably sing in the most octaves. I still get tears in my eyes when I hear this because it brings back the time when we knew he was leaving soon. You should listen to his song Epiphany. Another song you may enjoy is their cover of Coldplay's song, Fix You. All 7 members sing in it.
I became an army right after Jin enlisted. He was the first of the boys to enlist, and so during those two years, he was someone I was most looking forward to seeing again, to have the chance to experience in real time what it was like to be his fan. Besides, from the first time I heard one of his solo songs, I totally fell in love. His style of music is totally mine, and it was a total match. I remember that for a long time, every time I heard The Astronaut I cried a lot. This song is really special. When he came back, I was so, so happy. He really is a great singer, and of course, he has incredible vocals. I always admire his vocal stability. I don't know if many people talk about this, but it's a talent of his that I really like. He's a simple person, but very captivating. I really love him... Please react to his new album. It's his first solo album and it deserves a lot of attention because it's perfect. It's almost impossible to choose a favorite song because, like, they're all wonderful, but I highly recommend his performance with Wendy from Red Velvet, it's a feat of both of them that's really nice to listen to called Heart from the Window, and I also recommend listening to Falling feat Taka (member of the Jrock band One Ok Rock) these two are really 🙌🙌🙌 besides of course, the title song that even has an MV, Running Wild (which I also cried listening to, because it reminded me of all the time that passed and the whole concept of the MV reminds me a lot of The Astronaut🤧) anyway, that's it lol, I also can't help but say my usual request, since you consider yourselves fans of Kpop in general, I'll be waiting for my dear react by Stray Kids, a kiss ❤❤❤
Recently, Jin released his first album, Happy, with the title song, “Running Wild.” It is an album that talks about Jin. He put all his love into it. Every song is distinct from the other. I advise you to watch it later.❤

If you watch My Universe MV of BTS and Coldplay, there is also a behind the scenes video of when Chris Martin travelled to Korea to meet BTS and record the song. It was during covid, so Chris only had 1 or 2 days permitted and had to stay in isolation first. Coldplay have a great respect for BTS and obviously vice versa.
This song was a comforting message to ARMY - reminding us that he will return when his military duty is over. As he did. ARMY and BTS are his family.

They announced out of nowhere Jin was coming to one of their ten shows here in Argentina. Army from all Argentina did everything to get tickets and be there for Jin. I was lucky enough to get tickets for me, my mom and a friend. We had to learn the song in less than 24hs since it was released the night before the show and we sang every lyric that day just for our worldwide handsome 💜

i remember i used to get emotinoal everytime i listen to this song.... esp when jin went to the army.... it hit different.. this song is so much full of love... like his assurance to army that he will be coming back/ they will be coming back... and everything will be okay. :)

Cold player here, since 2001…ARMY since 2020, Jin bias. Imagine how amazing this was for me! When they dropped My Universe, and then we saw Coldplay in 2022 and 2024 and they performed My Universe… I cried both times. 💜
As army, we don’t compare bts and coldplay. They are the biggest 2 bands of this century and Coldplay fans kinda adopted us😭😭 we love each other a lot. Whenever there is a voting going on we try to vote gor both if it’s possible. So we don’t like to compare.
Yeah... I like to think of them as different things too. Coldplay is a band, but BTS is a group. To me, there's no comparison between them

This was the first time he performed The Astronaut live and it was his last performance before joining the Military. Jin called Chris Martin and asked for his help in creating a song that would tell his fans that he loved them and that he had to leave for a while but he would always return to them. The result was this beautiful song which meant a great deal to ARMYs. Since Cold Play was on tour at the time, Chris Martin messaged Jin with an invitation to join them in Argentina so that they could perform it live and he could say goodbye in person. That’s why everyone in the audience was in tears. We really felt that last line of “…and I love you!”
The little girl in the MV is ARMY and Jin will always choose to come back to her because they are family now.
This was the last thing he released before enlisting and it was almost like a goodbye to ARMY. Very special. Video has a lot of symbolism. The girl in the video represents ARMY. He gives her the helmet before he leaves, like he’s telling us to stay safe. Then he ends up not getting back on the spaceship and returning to the girl because she is his home.
He performed the concert literally right before they shaved his head and he enlisted into the military so this was basically his last performance before going in and it was extra special

This song was the last one Jin released before entering the military service and the Coldplay concert was that same day the song came out so the fans learned the lyrics in a few hours to be able to sing it with him, it was a very nice moment.
jin has an incredible vocal range, coldplay gifted him the song hence performing it with coldplay but yes jin can hit high and low notes with ease
They announced the performance a week before and arg army rushed to get the tickets that were almost sold out (Coldplay did 10 consecutive shows here). So a lot of people were there just to see his performance. It meant a lot for us arg army that his last show before enlistment were here bc BTS had never done a show in our country so this is really special for us.

If I remember correctly, this live performance happened within a day or two of the song's release, so I don't know if the people that bought tickets had much of a heads-up. So the amount of support was crazy
Back on 2022 when he debut this song you have no idea how emotional and heartwarming this song was for ARMY, he was the first one to enlist for his militar service, he is the hyung of BTS, and he decide to write a "see u soon" song for ARMY just to made us feel less sad about the situation, he flew 40 hour just to sing this song live on Coldplay Concert in Argentina, and hang out one last time with ARMYs and see their faces, THIS IS LOVE U GUYS, Jin its true definition of Affective responsibility,

This was a very emotional time for ARMY because they knew this was the only live they would get from Jin before he enlisted. Fact...Jin reached out to Chris Martin to help him write a song for him to dedicate this ARMY. There is a clip of Chris Martin introducing Jin before he came out on stage that was very emotional for Chris,. He is very very close to Jin.
