Seeing Clyde has made my hopes for some kind of a SJA continuation grow exponentially
There is an audio SJA continuation called Rani Takes on the World. There's only been 1 volume (3 episodes) so far, but it's really good. They perfectly balanced making Rani and Clyde feel like the same characters, while also being 30 now. Luke and Mrs Wormwood are in volume 2, which is out soon, I can't wait.
Tales of the TARDIS is an insanely cool idea! I just really hope that in their absence, McGann, Smith, possibly Capaldi and Tom Baker have some other involvement in the anniversary. Especially that Matt has always said he want to return, it would be weird to leave him out!!
It’s just insane how much news there’s been over the last couple of weeks, I feel like there’s been a new announcement every day, which is so satisfying
It's so nice to see Peter Purves, a companion from the original Toymaker story. I still recall as a kid, my parents pointing him out on 'Blue Peter' explaining he'd been in 'Doctor Who'... a show I was too young to have discovered at that age.
Yes, I had a suspicion that Peter Purves might have appeared in Wild Blue Yonder but I'm less sure now.
Russel T. "I'm worried I haven't done enough for the 60th" Davies is insane.
Peter Capaldi's doctor fixed the New York time problem in one of the Christmas specials. The super hero one
Not really, he can go to modern New York, the problem is going deep into the past of New York. He said was trying to repair it, but it never said that he actually did.
@@gengarvenom1180doesn’t always need to be explicitly stated. We can assume it’s fixed otherwise it means writers won’t be able to use that period ever again
@gengarvenom1180 I'll have yo rewatch it but I thought he said it was fixed
Thirteen's dead spider Tardis as a bonfire is a stroke of genius! 😂😂😂😂
The Dalek in the airport actually kinda makes sense. If you're trying to reach a more international audience for the new season, is a famously busy airport not the ideal location to gain that international attention? I think it's quite smart
Yeah, but they should have had Tegan there, considering how much time she spent trying to get to Heathrow!
This is that 6 day shoot I think Russell was talking about; 3 writers 👀👀
Looks so cool!!
I'm excited to see it, and glad that they finally gave Colin Baker a tasteful outfit!
IDK, I'm really hands down for the color patch suit. It's just SO different.
@@DoctorMysterio15agreed, i never got the hate for it, fit his doctor perfectly
@@kadegetslaid634 Yeah, I mean, the blue suit is nice, the black one is cool, but the multicolor one is ICONIC✨
1) It's nice seeing old faces coming back. Lots of respect behind that decision.
2) I think the Whoniverse stuff could be an interesting move as long as they don't overdo it.
3) I've thought about the numbering system before and I see no reason to reset it, especially when you think about the classics and how important it is to have a completely different scope about the show, plus RTD would just reset the burning issues we face nowadays and create new ones, so I think it could be a bad idea if he is the one to drive the idea forward... On the other hand, I also think that could be an interesting prospect for new showrunners to separate elements of the series that don't work in tandem. Tbh, I always preferred the concept of the show sharing different eras under the same umbrella based on common plot points. For instance, the classics were about the Doctor facing all sorts of evil in the universe, the modern ones are about the consequences of that past. It could be a good move, but it needs a lot of thought put into it and a clear closure of what came before. I think RTD could pull that off that final wrap at least.
So excited for this! I just saw this like 10 minutes ago and I couldn’t believe what I was seeing… “whoniverse” being an official term is just fantastic and the fact that they announced it and it’s like “oh yeah it comes out in 2 days as well” …. Phenomenal… I’m starstruck
I am loving the TARDIS set with MCCoy, it looks slightly steampunk
Tales of the TARDIS sounds interesting, a mix of the Blu-ray trailers and what they used to do with the partially missing episodes, having Ian explain the plot of the lost parts of the Crusade. Awesome to see 6 and Peri in particular. I like Ncuti's costume, it's a nice mix of the two main s14 outfits.
Russell is definitely listening to the fans what a legend he is ❤
Gotta say with all this stuff coming out, thank god I’m in the uk
So happy that Sylve and Sophie will get more of a proper slot in Tales of the TARDIS! ...also WHENEVER I see a new piece of news is out, Tharries, I keep hoping it's going to be the discovery of more missing episodes (!!)
Now that Ncuti is wearing the same brown leather jacket a second time, I really hope even more we get action figures and Funko Pops of that outfit
NOOOO!!!! it looks incredible but HOW DO I WATCH IT IN AMERICA??? I feel so ignored sometimes as an american fan lmao
I’ve got a feeling that in a few years this will be considered the beginning of a golden age of Doctor Who
Love the Amalgam Tardis! So many Easter eggs for fans.
I really wish we were going to get an official way to watch it internationally. I totally feel left out, man.
I want to see the entire tenure listed as one show so bad
Surely it’s called 2005-22 because… there aren’t any episodes in 2023 yet 😂
To be fair though you would leave it open. Usually when typing in a date that is open you would just do (2005-) so it is a bit odd for them to have a closed date
That's fun, I'm really looking forward to that. I've been doing a watch through starting at Rose, and I've just finished Capaldi's run, just in time to start at the very beginning and watch a lot of episodes I've never seen. It's going to be fantastic ;)
The head-scarf’s probably a do-rag. It’s kind of like a bandana: except tighter fitting.
Wow a 17 minute tharries video what a treat
Will Tales of the Tardis be available to view in Australia?
How do they account, as a in Whoniverse explanation for the fact that the 5th, 6th and 7th Doctors look older?
Tales of the Tardis feels like it's been designed to be the ultimate canon-fixer. Anything could be brought up on there.
And the Chrimbo in NYC thing sounds great!
Great content T, packed full of info. The idea of a Jamie / Zoe reconnection is particularly magical.
I'm hoping my side of the pond gets these, too!
Can always trust Tharries to deliver the best Doctor Who news 👏
i was recently doing a rewatch of SJA and came away honestly wanting more Clyde, so thanks RTD.
This sounds AMAZING!! I just pray we get all the same content here in the states.
It will probably be on Disney+, they're getting all episodes aired from the anniversary. So maybe they'll get these as well.
Glad my day offs on Wednesday so i can watch these 😊
How will this series play out? Are they narrating their adventures? Or are they running around recreating the old magic? I certainly hope it's the former, using animation as a flashback story with the original actors doing a voiceover.
In the words of simon the dalek "yes here we f*cking go!!!"
I love all the old companions, seeing those familiar faces, from Maureen to Sophie, Peter to Sylvester, I've certainly purchased every audio for Big Finish they've been in. That said, this is a weird type project for me because I don't like things to break the 4th wall, so I guess I'll have to wait and see how this is presented and if the format works or not. What may work for many, the masses, doesn't always work for me, mostly because I like all media to be cannon when possible.
The show was great, but pretty much screws over everybody else he doesn’t live in the UK who can’t watch it
If only I could actually access BBC iPlayer from Belgium.
The Clyde Joe one will make me cry. I just already know it, and I’m not much of a crier, but I know that will get me
So TOTT won’t be on Disney plus? Kind of annoying considering they advertised it as the new home of doctor who..
Makes me so sad because because like what if I wanna watch doctor who previous seasons I live outside of the uk so no access to that I only get new stuff :(
I can’t even access any of the other streaming options because of where I live
Doctor Who 2005-2022 could be the fact we haven’t had an episode since 2022! And could update to 2023 after the 60th
Typically, shows will state its ‘Yr - Yr’ if it has ended. If its ongoing it’ll be ‘Yr - ‘ or ‘Yr - Present’
However, looking at shows originally from places like Netflix & D+, sometimes a show will be ‘Yr - Yr’ even if the next series/episode is in post production
As an Australian i'm sad as heck that we are getting things like tales of the tardis on disney plus
The 12th Doctor fixed the time-problems with New York in The Return of Doctor Mysterio and vists New York in that story...
in doctor mystero ..12 was trying to fix new york city with that machine on the roof..
I would love to see some specials with the 8th doctor lost tales of a time lord
It would have been cool to see him with se big finish companions like Charlie and Lucie.
Series 1-13 are not even available on HBO Max in Romania (where I live) so we really are screwed.
And from the sounds of it, Tales of the TARDIS, won't be available on Disney+ either.
Looking forward to this and this must be what they were filming in that short week long block. My only gripe... We're not getting any Matt Smith are we? 😢
Russell said we're also getting things on two other dates in November (the 23rd and I think the 17th?) so it's possible that this was already filmed or - if this was the 6 day shoot - something else substantial was already filmed. Maybe 2 substantial somethings! Though I should temper my expectations lol
I wish we had Iplayer in Ireland. I’m gonna have to try and find this online
Im in Australia and Doctor Who was removed from ABC (Its home for 60 years).
britbox in Australia has nothing, and we don't get MAX.
So Russel has fcuked over international fans for Disney.
Russel isn't in charge of decisions like that. He's only the showrunner. The BBC decides who gets to distribute their shows.
I'd assume that the doctors in 'Tales of the Tardis' are the curator...
I live in Australia and it’s all on BINGE
nicola bryant is one of the most beautiful woman ever!
C'mon Russell do it, give us an 8th Doctor spin-off series
Wait. Will it be called series 1 on D+ if it doesn’t have the previous eps?
Apparently nowhere else in the world counts as these are UK iplayer only will not watch any new WHO now
Omg. Lying in bed just smiling at this joyous news x
Clyde! My boy is back, Gigga chad RTD has done it again!
I'm pretty sure Ncuti was wearing a durag
Weirdly, on iPlayer, NuWho is being referred to "Doctor Who (2005-2022)"... Could this bring more credence to the idea that they're going for a full reset with series numbering?
I hope that it will come to the US at some point😢
If you are gonna have Amy/Rory back in the fold in New York, it would make sense to set it about 10 years later in ww2
Are they going to make him look like Huggy Bear from Starsky & Hutch?
YAAAAAAA
I theorize that this effectively confirms we will see Susan most likely in on of the. Tennent specials can surely be the only reason when she isn’t involved in TotT
That “1920s” costume looks exactly what some of my former university colleagues wear today!
That uniform looks like a pre 1942 US Uniform to me, because the helmet being worn is the supposed to be a M1917 Helmet (US version of the Brittish Brodie Helmet). This helmet was replaced by the US Army with the M1 helmet in 1942ish. The lack of any kind of markings on the front of the helmet in the image, suggests it's more than likely a US Army issue (or meant to be), because Civil Defense Helmets for example, had patches painted on them such as a red shield on a white triangle in a blue circle...
If that's the case I wonder if it could be an episode based on something like "The Battle of Los Angeles" rather than something in New York???
We can still buy the new series and the 60th anniversary on Apple, right?
Omfg yes!
Will they face classic daleks and cybermen
As someone who has Max i'm fine with New Who s1 to s13 not being on Disney+ and i have the DVD collection of New Who. Plus I also use Pluto TV that has a channel that streams Classic Who.
For the moment, maybe. But I get the feeling that once the current licensing period is over, it will not be getting renewed. Disney's not exactly known for sharing!
EVERY SEASON STARGATE SG1 DID A CLIP SHOW.
THIS BBC IDEA IS TO EARN EXTRA REVENUE FROM OLD MATERIAL.
Is "Tales of the Tardis" gonna be available in America?
What about BBC iPlayer
Is Tales on Disney+
Judging by the pics released so far, I hope there is some depth to this series and some back history as to what happened to likes of Ace following season 26 etc. Here's hoping that they don't make it too sentimental and I would like to see Tegan and the 5th Doctor stay true to their original sparring dynamic. I'm slightly wiorried by the return of Mel too, not a companion that too many fans have fond memories of though I suspect that RTD will try to make her character interesting. I'd much rather have seen Leele back or Romana 2 but hey, that's just my opinion.
Bloody hell, Doctor Who is dead down here in Australia without ABC. If all this stuff isn't on Disney+ then we're all left out down here.
so that wont be on disney +... :( sad
CLYYYYYYDDEEEE!!!!!!!
I'm just gonna say it now. I believe that the Christmas special that they're filming is going to be based on It's a Wonderful Life. It just makes too much sense.
What do i do? I'm in Canada
Ooh I used to live in Penarth!
I think they should call Ncuti's first season, Season 40! It's the same show since 1963 so why not? Do it you cowards :P
Tbh not having the classics on Disney makes sense, they need to make money somehow and the dvds and blue ray make they alot of money. I'm just lucky enough to own them all already so I'm glad my collection is not redundant just yet aha
going to find a way to Pirate The Tardis Tales.
As if I am right, BBC iplayer is under Bell in Canada meaning you have to have Bell as your provider locking it us out of it. I'm from QUEBEC most of us don't have Bell because they tooo expensive even before the pandemic and stuff.
Which is a bummer seriously.
Gonna gives people site to pirate it has either in somecountry Max is no available in their country or Britbox either locking them out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Of watching it and Dvd aren't always compatible with it!
You’re getting a lot of info mixed up here. Bell used to have the Doctor Who license in Canada, but that hasn’t been the case since January. It has nothing to do with iPlayer or Max. iPlayer is only in the UK and Max is only in the US. Each country has different licensing.
As for the spin-offs, those will very likely be on Disney+.
@@ki700 As far as we know that's not what I get I want confirmation of it being the case. And I don't have twitter (I will keep it calling that no matter what)
@@ki700 I mean how it sounds to me that it's not coming to Disney+ I mean the spin-off.
I want it to be states so.
For me, Doctor who is only coming on Dismey+ on the 25th of November which implies that anything before then will not be on it. And I won't be able to know until the 25th as we don't have Disney+ at the moment. So yeah, it needs to be stated that is coming to Disney+
@@christinewhoyt I have no doubt that they will all be on D+ eventually. I am *guessing* that Disney is either waiting for licensing contracts to end for various channels and other platforms, or they are actively negotiating buying those rights.
Disney are very careful about the information they put out, so until it is set in stone, we won't hear much from them (officially).
So why isnt Susan involved in any of this Tales of the TARDIS ?
So with a new era does that mean that we are starting back over with series 1 with New New Who 😂
But no tom? I hope he gets a look in on the 60th
I suppose it's not the end of the world here in America. I happen to like MAX and subscribe to both it and Disney +. I'm good 🙂
I fear my critical brain will switch off watching this. But will I care? Definitely not. This is just so hype!
Intesting, I was expecting ToTT to be a in-universe show, but this more BTS approach could be interesting
Which bit says it’s behind the scenes, it says it’s about the characters not the actors? (4:04)
@@CJFS00s as in, its more about the actors discussing characters, rather than being an in-universe show
@@robbiemartin9312 No it isn't lol. An in-universe show is characters like the doctor and companions going on adventures, as in the characters do stuff. This is a real-life show where actors discuss characters and past adventurers.
@@ZDProds-c8pthe actors are going to be in character from everything I've heard..so it'll be Ace and the 7th doctor(for example) discussing their previous adventures, probably with clips from those thrown in.kind of like a clips show, but with bookended story elements to it.but we'll have to wait and see I suppose, just my take from what has been shown so far
I'm curious if the lack of modern Who on Disney+ is just going to be an American thing. The streamer in Canada, Crave, lost the rights earlier this year, so we haven't had a streamer since January.
That Inverse article only refers to the US. Here in Canada we’re getting Series 1-13 on Disney+.
As much as Tales of the TARDIS is so cool, the thing that made me squee from it was seeing Clyde lmao.
Finally we're getting SJA characters on the screen again in some way. FINALLY!!!!!!
Clyde the best written character in SJA. An absolute joy to see Clyde back.
