I am a international student. I don’t meet 600 hours criteria to apply for maternity leave and even sickness leave. Could you suggest me something what to do
How about you applied for sickness benefit (EI Sickness) before maternity leave, will it deduct the weeks that i have for maternity and parental leave?
Hi im planning to take parental leave 3 months after my wife gave birth, and my bi-weekly is atleast 1,300 (net income atleast 1k minus the tax “give or take”) our family annual is under 50k and i have more than 600hrs on my EI how much do you think my parental leave? Is it weekly or bi-weekly? Thanks
Question: yung 5weeks parental leave is exclusive only for father?ang pagkakaintindi ko my 5weeks kmi for takinhg care of baby and pede kmi kumuha ng additional weeks sa mother to extend our leave pero ileless yun sa leave nio.
For a more detailed explanation, please check the link www.canada.ca/en/services/benefits/ei/ei-maternity-parental.html I took the standard parental leave and my husband received 5 weeks of parental leave. Please refer to the example shown in the link, that’s the same benefit we had received. Thanks
Thank you so much for the detailed explanation sister. I haven't been lucky in getting a job, and I will soon give birth , not sure what benefits I'm entitled to.
So if my husband takes paternity leave (assuming that's the same as parental leave??) then that's deducted from the 18 months I have planned to take off as the mom? This stuff is so confusing haha
@@mayfam7478 I’m so thrilled for you! Have you decided how long you’ll take a break? Play date sana kung neighbours tayo. Hehe. Are you already on your second trimester?
You may refer to the IRCC website. If you have attained the required work hours, you may try to submit your application for the maternity and parental leave. Thanks
Hi, ma'am pwd po mag patulong. Mag 4 weeks na po ako nung last day na nag work ako sa employer ko. Nag try din po ako na mag apply hnd po ako maka go through.
I don’t think so, I believe your wife should give birth here to be eligible for the mat/parental leave. You may refer to IRCC for further information. Thanks
Just want to follow up with this I have the same situation, my wife is in other country and been working in canada with the same employer for 9 yrs. Thanks.
@@Yairo03 Mary Jean Jones is right, if your wife has paid EI from her salary then she is eligible irrespective of the place where she gives birth. Also, You can also call up EI team if you want to discuss your individual situation, they help with our queries.
Sample benefit pay calculation for standard parental leave.
$638/wk x 4 weeks = $2552 monthly pay (tax deductible)
How they are calculating the parantel benefit if the pay slip is different hours? They are taking one of the highest pay slip or different pay slips?
Please leave your comments below. Happy watching!
Hi

Quick question, my insurable earning is lower than my regular weekly salary. Which do they take the weekly income or insurable earning?
Hi, Can I quit before my maternity leave and still recieve the benefit?

4 weeks lang si husband since it won’t be realistic kung mag-leave siya ng matagal. Usually it’s the mom who takes the 52 weeks of parental leave.
Salamat po maam sa info ❤❤❤

What’s your current status? If you’re a PR, you’re entitled for the childcare benefit too.
What if your a foreign worker here (work permit)
question ko lang po kung same amount ang ei ntatangap nyo ng husband mo nung nagparental leave kayo?
Yes, it’s same EI rate for us.
How long before you recieve your first payment after you apply?
I think it was after one month when I submitted my application.

Correct, it will be deducted from your parental leave. My husband took 5 weeks so it was deducted from mine.

Need po ba talaga mag 600 hours para maka claim ng maternity leave??
Hi can i apply for parental benefits? My commonlaw partner and my newborn son is on other counrty. They don’t have SIN or any records here in Canada

So when is the best time to submit maternity leave application? Di nyo po ata naexplain. Eto sana gusto ko marinig😊
Apply as soon as possible after you stop working. If you apply more than 4 weeks after your last day of work, you may lose benefits.

how about the father? if standard? 11months for mother then 1month for the dad? or both will get 12 months?
Correct. Standard parental leave, mothers can get 11 months then one month goes to father. That’s the option we’ve chosen.
Can we get maternity parenteral and child benefit together? Or we will get it any one? Please reply
It’s maternity leave then converts to parental leave. The child benefit will only be provided after giving birth. Tnx
@@TheMapleDiaries- Only if you've paid into Employment Insurance while working in Canada. If not, you get nothing.

If you have worked in Canada and paid into EI - Employment Insurance, you can apply for Maternity leave. If not then you do not qualify.
