Hey there! Great job on the work as always, but there's one thing I wanted to mention. I had a Toyota Surf with a 185 body style for a long time, and I can tell you that because of its negative form which resists aerodynamics, a lot of dirt and moisture gathers under the rear bumper, which absorbs the moisture and causes the metal to rust quickly. It's really important to make ventilation holes (maybe there's a way to make them look nice?) because it'll help to ventilate the space, and also significantly reduce the weight of the bumper. Best regards, Vadim from Vladivostok, Russia.
Austin, I saw your saw so I bought one..just finished cutting up some 3/16 plate.. Oh man I love that thing. don't know why I didn't get one sooner. thanks for the tip,
Maybe u would consider fabricating a roofrack (another video idea for yah 😉) with a swing arm for the spare tire, that swings up. The spare tire will make the swing arm heavy to swing up so u can use air struts to make swing easier. Lots of love for you and the content man ❤
Your fabrication skills are over the top ! I wish i had 1% of your skills. Always look forward to seeing you build something from scratch. Cheers from Sydney Australia As usual. 🇭🇲👍🦘🇭🇲🇺🇸🇭🇲🦘👍🇭🇲
Tacking in bracing and gussets really helps keep the warping to a minimum. I braced the hell out of my TDI engine mounts, and they dropped right into place and the bolts lined up perfectly. My oil pan on the other hand needed a bit of therapy to fit flat on the block.
Love this bumper and was really hoping to buy it completed. No chance I can do it myself. I have the exact same model, would you or a colleague be willing to build it? I will pay a very fair price for the final product. I am located in Utah, let me know. Thank you.
I did a front and rear bumper build for a '94. Did you support the bumper "wings" (the piece from the rear of the bumper that extends toward the tire)? Building these takes a long time, with a cut and fit.
Normally 9/10 times anything you weld shrinks or pulls so if you pre load it by spreading it a few millimeters with a porter power then brace it, it comes back to normal after braces are removed
Cool bumper I don't have a Toyota I have a 91 S10 4x4 truck and a 85 S10 blazer Tahoe 4x4 wish someone would come out with bumper kits for first gen s10s nothing for them for after market parts
That was just not the style he wanted to go for. In this case, since this 4Runner gets used a lot, I would assume it’s because he doesn’t want to make opening the hatch harder or take more space
Sponsors are great and all but it really seems some of the product you've been getting lately really isn't worth it. In particular the $2000+ plasma table and that plasma torch...
@@austinniemela The CNC table they literally sent to you and in return you promote their product through a link in your bio. Do u not know what a sponsor is?
After figuring out the one issue with the table it’s been great!! The other issue was just a oring on the plasma cutter, nothing to do with the table. I still think for the price, these tables are worth it!!
Love the voice-over format, Austin. Keep it up - your continuing production quality improvements make these videos a real joy to watch.
Yeah that was great. He startled me on the last video when he did that. Wasn't expecting it 😂
That bumper is absolutely crazy, I’m pretty sure it can hold the entire truck by it self. Amazing work buddy 🤙

The sound of a perfectly set mig/mag welder is just too satisfying. could listen to that all day

That trick with the citric acid is awesome. I’m definitely gonna have to remember that one.
Damn we need plans for the 4th gen 4runner! id buy them in a heart beat!
So nostalgic seeing that rugged trail spare under there
Super stealth mode🔥 nice clean lines 💯
I like the show and tell when we build a car and the voice over on a 1 video project build great work Austin
I love these bumper and bull bar builds.
Outstanding, love your videos, designs and craftsmanship.
Thank you very much!

Great job on that Austin, I figured you would eventually do that bumper, can't wait to see it all painted and finished!
Metal Laser Very very SUPERRRR 😮

Great tip with the citric acid , I don’t know why I have never thought of that I’ve been using 30% acid vinager for years and despise the smell.
Wow! now that's a real bad ass rear bumper. Can't wait to see your next video on this project

Wow thats a super clean bumper!! Putting that plasma cutter to good use
love the channel!
with this bumper only thing i would want different is to make it easier to get a hitch pin in and out when changing receivers
Not any other way to do it unless you hang the receiver out 5”!
Nice work Austin
Form and Function
Beautiful Bumper
Quick easy and looks good
That bumper was awesome. 🎉🎉
Like the voice over style video
Fabrication skills on point!!! Keep the vids coming bro!!
Thanks!!
@@austinniemelaHi do you have any issues with your plasma table? How long have you used it and have you software issues or drive motor issues?
Great job. Always amazing fab skills on display!
What an amazing build, I love it…just signed up in your channel, thanks for all your hard work, GREETINGS from Southern California
Very nice!
I like the was you got rid of the mill scale
Just clear coat that shinny steel!! Strong work
I used to have a 3rd Gen runner, great suv , wish I could have kept it. Upgraded to a 5th Gen
Great job 👍
yes! when finished is going to look great. hope you paint it rugged black
Been wondering when will the next video was..nice to see you working on a bumper again !
Damn man... your work is so impeccable 👌
Wow. Indeed that's a cool bumper. So Austin, will there be any other video on the white hilux ??
Outstanding..😎👍.
Looks rad. 😎
Dude. Hell yea.
Sweet bumper. What you do with those flare pieces, looking for some for my black 00 4runner
Looks awesome!!
Holaaa!! Saludos desde Venezuela 😎😎
Always love his video ❤, great work as always
That's awesome kool
I like the bumper and receiver. Is it a pain to put the hitch pin in?

Смотрю ваши работы по 4Runner, это очень круто! У меня toyota Hilux SURF 185, хочу сделать его так же как у вас.!

👍🏽🇺🇸👍🏽 looks awesome
Make a template for a second Gen Tundra front and rear please!
Dammm Austin! Factory quality! Looks amazing! You think it'll fit in Devin's oven for powder coating.... 🤔
really nice job. How do you put the pin in to hold the receiver? it's inside the bumper
Nice looking bumper but my question is how do you put the hitch pin in?
ممكن تعطيني واحدة وتقوم بتوصيلها إلى العراق 🇮🇶 لكي اجعلها عل سيارتي السورف فور رنر التسعينات ؟!!❤😂 16:39
Freaking sick!🙌🏻🔥
Saw 3rd Gen and got excited thinking it was a Tacoma
It’s all well and good putting braces on it but you also need to pre load it
Pre load?

@@SootyDiesel81 makes sense!! I am happy to say I have had great success with welding slow, letting it cool between welds and bracing!!
I just bought the same plasma table. How hard was it to learn Fusion360 ??
Nice!! It not too bad! You’ll be doing some googling haha
@@austinniemela I bought a dedicated laptop just for it. Nothing expensive just a basic one from Best Buy. I’ve been watching UA-cam videos too.
with your Hobart Handler 210MVP, ¿can you weld 1/2 plate?
Do you have any problems with the Z Axis rising on it's own in the middle of a cut? Please let me know Thanks Dean
Mine sometimes does it! Im not sure what causes that

Looks like u need new tires on that rig. That spare needs a replacement also
👍
Bravo....any plans on selling completed or plans?
would you ever consider cutting the bumper out? I live a few hours away from you I can swing by and pay you for it and weld it up myself.
Feel free to message me! austin@avrcustoms.com!
Hi can I buy one of these already welded from you? Thanks!
Dont suppose you'd have the cad files for these you'd be willing to share/ sell? Im in the UK and struggling to find anything tidy
Hello where are you located?
Why didn’t build a spare tire carrier on the rear bumper swing out type.
That was just not the style he wanted to go for. In this case, since this 4Runner gets used a lot, I would assume it’s because he doesn’t want to make opening the hatch harder or take more space

Well, when I’m in the market for a plasma table, I will definitely not be buying that brand. Your having all sorts of problems with that thing

IS THAT AUTOMATIC? THAT'S DISGUSTING
Waste of time, Toyotas are junk
You a ford guy?
do you use 4mm steel for bumpers?
fj40 austin ?
Make her an honest woman Austin. 😅🥹
