4 years on time! 😁 I have an American 7400 (7200?) series with tubular cylinder. I got it picked, but it seized up on the next pin stack. I could imagine that I just AFU'd my lock. As I was watching this video, I was wondering about shaving the nub off of a key. Then you said exactly the exact same thing! Also, I don't think I've damaged my lock after all. You have given me hope. Thanks
Thank you very much, I learned a lot from this. I did not have a clear mental picture of how tubular locks worked. People told me "its the same as a pin tumbler lock." Now it makes sense. Thanks again.
Great video. Well explained. The rounded ends are needed, because there often is so much play in the keyway, that it is hard to perfect allign the key on all 7 pins at the same time.
Very good stuff! Thanks for this! I’ve got a cheap tubular lock that I’ve been wanting to tackle. I got the Goat wrench in preparation to attack that lock. So with your info, I’m hopeful for success.
Great video. Thanks for the 3d printable wrench. I'll definitely be printing one of them soon. BTW lanolin is both a great industrial grease and also great for the skin on your hands.
Question my friend, which tubular lock impressioning tool do you recommend I purchase for my kit. I do not want to waste cash if I don't have to. Please share some info. Thanks
After further study I've determined this is an 8 pin center lock with the small ball bearing for the hole in the key, hmm -- didn't realize there were so many variants of tubular locks.
grinding the key nub is a wonderful idea. thank you :D
Very nice tutorial and look inside the tubular lock. Always nice to see a Goat Wrench too 😃

Well done and explained. It was nice to see the lock being gutted. It really helps in understanding how everything works together.

I like your tip about grinding one of the keys. Good video. Thanks for sharing. 👍👍👍👍🧡
Your welcome. Happy picking!
I’ve never seen someone attempt a gutting of a tubular lock that they successfully put back together. Nice work and great explanation.
Thanks! It generally just falls apart. Putting it back together was delicate
@@coolcat83 I can imagine 😂
Really good video.
Very interesting to see the lock taken apart and see the inside of it 🙂 👍
Outstanding! Certainly the best on this subject i've seen.
Great video and some great tips!! Thank you for sharing this with us!! Happy pickings!!
Thanks you too!

Yw, the wrench works surprisingly well. And yeah I torture my hands sometimes...
I’ve never seen the key ground off cool tip
The lock in the middle and on the left I actually have that same exact one and it keeps locking up on me did that happen to you

Great video. I am starting a gofundme to buy you some hand lotion. jk thanks for the great video.
I have that tension wrench and it does look slightly different. So far, it has been a waste of money. (small amount of money)
Amazing
