Tsukuyo is just female version of gintoki as their story really is similar to each other like they both lost their sensei and both had to see their sensei alive later in the years and most specially that stood up to me was that they both had to kill their sensei to save...also if u noticed that their dressing is also almost similar like gin has his right side open as he didn't put his kimono fully and tsukuyo also has her right sleeves open in her clothing
The thing is when Gintama becomes serious near the end it makes you miss the comedy from the beginning of the anime. It makes you miss the days where all of the characters of Gintama can just be a group of clowns and be happy together. Personally, the comedy of Gintama is what made me love and root for every character in Gintama. I didn't think that I could love such a huge cast of characters but Gintama made it possible. Gintama will forever be the hidden treasure that I accidentally stumbled upon while having no expectations.
I'm at ep318 now.. Yeah gintama is centre of comedy. So much parody 😂 in serious arc there's still comedy inside it. Like in goodbye shinsensugumi arc, I laugh so hard when katsura choked matsudaira and blame him for wearing the same enemy clothes 😂😂😂😂
This is the same with everyone who has watched One Piece and Gintama, you watch One Piece first you think it's the greatest anime which it is and after that you start watching Gintama. You feel that it's good, you watch it more you start loving it and then finally before you can even realise Gintama has taken over you. That's the magic of the Greatest Anime of all time. Gintama is just not an anime it's a way of life.
How we face those hard times and we struggle to return to the good times. Coming back from failure and never giving up. Gintama means something and I love it
as someone who has been a gintama enjoyer since 2015, late to the party but still before it ended, it always warms my heart when new fans enjoy the series
I like that author did an open ending to the series as not doing ships canon but he gave them development and progress as to speculate that they will at some point in the future will be together eg. Otae and kondo tbh at first I didn't thought there will be anything b/w those two and thought it was just for comedy but by the end i was soo rooting for them and they have a lot of family type talking like in FS arc... another example is obviously gin and tsukuyo and their chemistry as author even give them an arc about love
...an unusual ship did become canon tho... the Madao ship sailed.... of all the ships.... why the Madao ship. Where's my Tsuki x Gin, or Sougo x Kagura... even baited me with Kondo x Otae

I had to commit a lot to enjoy one piece becuz of the retro anime style they have. Same with Gintama.... now they're both of my most fav animes. But I lean alittle bit towards Gintama bcuz its just that I prefer it :D Naruto DB and Bleach I also like but didnt prefer as much as those 2.
People make a mistake assuming something has to be an action packed series just because it’s shounen. Shounen is just the demographic not the genre, there are so many other great shounen that arent action centric
Did you read the manga for silver soul? The anime did some massive cuts specially in the second part, the semi final and the final so i think its really important for people who like the series to check it out at least once
Unless anyone's lives depends on me watching it, there's nothing that can convince me to give this show another chance. Gintama wasted my time. Never again.

I gave gintama a try about 1-2 years ago. It started off super rocky but in the end it ended up being my favorite show of all time
