Conversations On Collecting: Mumbai - Prof. Suresh Chandvankar, Vinyl Record Collector

Ashvita's presents Conversations On Collecting-a series of conversations and discussions on the passion for collecting fine art and collectibles. Initiated as a travelling series, Conversations On Collecting will be taken across the length and breadth of the country including metros such as Chennai, Bengaluru, Mumbai and Delhi, and will offer the opportunity to hear first-hand what drives the collecting, commissioning and care of art and collectibles.
After successful events in Chennai & Bangalore, Ashvita's is now in Mumbai. Meet Viraj, a figurine collector (his most precious figures include an R2-D2 from Star Wars, and a ‘Yellow Wolverine’) who is also a writer, producer and editor based in Mumbai. Dr. Suresh Chandvankar, a vinyl record collector with over 10,000 records in his collection. He is a former physicist with the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, and is also the honorary secretary of the Society of Indian Record Collectors, Mumbai. Shamik Biswas is a numismatist with the most comprehensive collection of world coins in India, including near full collections of all current countries. Founder, Ashvin E. Rajagopalan moderated the panel discussion.
