Could relate to the emotions expresed and the tune, singing is so simple and soothing.

Folks, it may worth opening up a bit, and thinking along a different line of thought.As a start, see what's happening. No matter how cool we think we are.. each living our bubble😎, smug fat and happy.. were only listeners, the watchers of a scene, of something truly beautiful. We have opinions, based on a specific personal history, a personal culture.
Whereas, think of the musicians, who we adore and are in awe of. We all mean well. But it's the ARTISTS who are the big deal here. Have we ever even imagined what THEY think of each other? My bet? That Chitra and Jagjit were in AWE of Mehndi Hassan. And this version is just a Contribution and a Tribute to the greatness of Hassan Sahib.
And here we are, prattling away mindlessly about the various versions, with no idea of what this music means to the artists who produced it😎. So let's rise a bit. Be less provincial. Let's love what we hear, in our own private way, and take its full pleasure. And remember, that the source of all this is the artists. Who truly understand the works, are in awe of each other, and live in a very different quadrant from us. There are angels in heaven😎, and earthlings on the street😎. Let's keep perspective. Just listen, as example, to what LATA M had to say about the greats of her time, in her intro to her suite of tribute albums. She was nearly in tears. No, it was not marketing, and hype, but the real goods.
And you may know BOB DYLAN, and his song Tambourine Man. At least 10,000 other artists have sung that song. Not one alike the other. Each version quite peculiar, as moving as Bob's original. And before any if them do a public rendition, they pause for a minute to mention BOB and their AWE😎. And I bet Bob has myself likes many of those renditions even more than his own😎. And no one is losing any sleep over it. Each artist ADDS to the cauldron of beauty.
Remember that scene in that tv film. What GHALIB said to the Faquir in the street, when he first heard a song by MIR😎? Recall his awe? shake of head? As he gave away all his coins, in gratitude😎? Behold, the world of artists, and their art.
