Best tutorial i've found to date! I'm very happy to have discovered your channel, as a student of fashion i must say that the cut of Helen's jeans is perfect, she nailed it!
Excellent tutorial so clear and precise! Ladies, both of your jeans look nice. Now I need to add this book and the pattern to my “next Up” collection😊. Thanks for sharing
You will love the book. We did an update on the pattern and it is available on the Palmer/Pletsch website palmerpletsch.com. It is the update if the photo on the envelope is labeled as View A. I am doing a blog on the changes we made which will be out soon. Sign up on our website to get new blog announcements. Thanks so much!
Helen Bartley did this tutorial and has written a book called Fit and Sew Custom Jeans. She shows the press in her book on page 15 as well as other button installation products. She calls it an industrial press but doesn't recommend a brand. You could write to her at Helen@seamdivas.com. The book covers everything jeans!! It's great. Took her 4 years to write!
I would follow the same steps and the crotch topstitching the finished off the bottom of the fly will just be the center front seam of the skirt topstitched down in a mock flat felled seam.
Thank you, super easy to understand 🎉

This is such an amazing tutorial, do you have a recommendation for a press to install said buttons?

Hello! I have a TEP-3 press from Micron. Works well!
How about a skirt.
I would follow the same steps and the crotch topstitching the finished off the bottom of the fly will just be the center front seam of the skirt topstitched down in a mock flat felled seam.
Use the same instructions for a skirt.
