I agree it was great to see him back. There are just a few moments where he hooks the ball instead of passing his way out which is probably why Arteta doesn’t favour him. Hope he can stay fit now though.
Love seeing Tierney booming down the left. He was a real outlet and provided width. So he doesn't invert, big deal. A healthy Tierney is a brilliant player. Love seeing Jesus playing on the defender's shoulder and staying around the box. Too often he drops too deep and trying to provide rather than finish. 3 great goals, great finishing. We need this version of Jesus.
Great video Charles. Good win last night. I won't go as far to say Gabby Jesus is back, though it's a good thing he scored those goals last night. This weekend's match will be nothing like last night. I'll still want Havertz to start by the weekend.
Arteta don't think so. Crazy he thought we could compete in average competition this season with this squad
3 години тому+2
Jesus at the start of the 22/23 season was on track for a 40G/A year when he went to the WC and got injured. Last few games including Monaco he looks back to his best. The only difference tonight is he finally put the ball in the back of the net. I reckon he goes on a bit of streak from here and we win the treble
TEN ......... TEN .......... TEN!!!! This day will go down in Arsenal history!! The day Charles gave TEN!! 🥳🥳🥳 Jesus did deserve it for sure, coming back from a huge goal drought to then get a hat trick, brilliant!
Spot on @Charles Watt… Nwaneri needs to work a lot on his positioning. I was screaming the same against Everton and also during the Crystal Palace game
So many positives. Jesus, wow! Stirling did a job, stuck to task but looked less than because of other players positioning. Tierney is back. Odegard seems to have got used to a baby in the house and is firing on all four cylinders. Partey and Timber had more game time in emergency positions.Moreno looked like he was settling in, much more fluid on the ball. MLS is continuing his apprenticeship nicely, Nwaneri too. Recently you were asking for suggestions on wingers/forwards. My shout is pure heresy Mickey Moore. . Great feet and vision.
I think Jesus should start on the left on Saturday. Still think we’re a better team with Havertz up top but Martinelli and Trossard have been very hit and miss of late so I would like to see Gabi starting there at Selhurst. Keep up the good work.
Tierd of Partey at RB, not that he's doing bad but not his position square pegs 😮💨 need Timber RB, give Tierney a go, he looked ok, and put Partey back into position and keep consistency which is most important.
I am a terrible critic of Jesus but fair play to him 3 great finishes, he flourished without VAR because his runs are 80% offside but well done Gabby it was lovely to see him smiling again 👍
Who knew that an overlapping LB would've brought us so much joy on the left side who knew🙄. Martinelli and Trossard does ve straving for their LB to make an overlap. It would help out the left sided attacking so tremendously.
I genually disagree your 4-score for Kiwior, despite the error at the 4th min. After this he actually had a good match, including some really good forwardpasses through the lines.
Good luck to Tierney, he did great before he got so many injuries and I think he could stay fit for longer if he plays outside of the very physical PL and away from potentially doing lengths of the pitch every few minutes.
It might have been interesting to have done separate first half and second half ratings and perhaps even an end of game set - performances changed so much during the course of the game.
Tierney cross to sterling that hit the crossbar, that’s the stuff we need to balance out the left side and his overlapping runs occasionally. felt way more balanced
Tomiyasu has missed more football due to injury. I hope Tierney stays fit and we offer him a new contract. He is versatile and can play LCB (better than Kiwior) as well.
I would like to see Jesus and Havertz playing together up front when we are chasing goals, in the old little and large tradition. No one does it anymore, but it's a strategy that would work well against low blocks, particularly as both are good with the ball at their feet and Havertz height advantage. Not from the beginning of matches, but at around 65-70 minutes. As for Merino, people are judging far too early, he does need to get into the game quicker, but that is part of the adjustment to a new team and a new league.
I had a much warmer feeling after last week's Monaco game. I'm not over celebrating a game at home where we conceded two goals and Jesus actually took the ball to the corner flag with a couple of minutes to go. That's acceptable against Real Madrid but not against Palace at home.
Have to use KT whilst others are out, too much of that fan base has forgot how good he is when he is fit (although him being fit is partly the issue) The RB can invert and leave him to make a 3 at the back in attacking phases. You have a solid defending international who's still 27 here
Hey Charles, just food for thought.... Ive often heard yourself and others say Arsenal have evolved on from Jesus and Zinchenko but for me that would imply that these 2 have been playing at the same level they did when they first arrived and that Arsenal have just got better whereas I would suggest the issue is that both have been riddled wih injuries and never consistently hit the same heights they did in their first 6 months. If we could have the same Jesus and Zinny from those 6 months and if we can address the hole from when Xhaxa left we would be a different animal. You can see how those 3 at their peaks 2 seasons ago helped us look so dynamic and more balanced and how much their drop off or exit has impacted Martinelli. I hope Jesus can push on (although I'm skeptical) but sadly Zinny looks like injuries will keep him from getting there again and Merino has a long way to go to hit the heights of Xhaxa. Until we get the left 8 and lb position sorted I doubt any left winger is going to really thrive in this team, although a fit Tierney would provide a different option and cause teams problems with him overlapping - the issue again is keeping him fit. Who would have thought the area on the pitch where we are stacked in numbers is our most vulnerable position due to injury prone players. It does feel like we take 1 step forward and 1 back each transfer window still keeping us a player or 2 off of getting over the line. Lifting the Caraboa cup would be a great start for the team but I i really hope we don't look back at this time as missed opportunities and regrets. Great content as always. COYG.
Saliba is immense. If there is one slight weakness though it is when that ball beats the LCB in the air. He seems a bit slow to react. Same thing happened against Newcastle if I’m remembering right.
I try to be patient with new players and I understand that he might still be nursing a shoulder problem injury, but I can’t recall a 7 from Merino. I’m ready for it.
And people shouldn’t worry themselves over an uptick in form for Jesus preventing us from buying a striker in January, because we weren’t going to sign anyone in January anyway. There almost certainly won’t be an affordable upgrade on the market this winter.
I think Arteta has gone a touch too conservative this season tbh. I think it stems from him thinking our forwards can't score enough goals, which is a bit weird giving the numbers we score. He needs to play Rice as a 6, as he did for West Ham- basically a sweeper ahead of the CB's. And give the rest the licence to attack. Need another Odegaard on the left 😁 (think Nwaneri eventually will be that tbh). I want the left 8 to be someone who runs at the defence, drawing them in, and giving space to Martinelli/Trossard.
Liverpool 2001 , when both ref and linesman needed to go to specsavers, should have had a player sent off and a penalty , before Michael Owen scored two late goals.
Can people now stop calling for Nwaneri to play every game? He's got a long way to go. Last 2 appearances he's been poor. I don't care if he's 17. If people want him to play, then he also faces the same criticism as everyone else does. No doubt he's a talented player but fans need to calm down, take a breather, relax blasting Arteta for not playing Nwaneri enough. Odegaard is the most important player in our team. Without him we don't tick the same way. Nwaneri has a lot to learn
I thought Palace was the perfect team for Tierney to play against “Traditional” LB getting back and doing his bit in defence. Few over laps and whips into the box Genuinely thought he had a great game
Arsenal inability to put together a good 90 minutes will keep costing them. Too many games its one good half then one bad. First half was the same theme despite the changes, slow and ponderous which shows it is more of a coaching thing than an individual player problem.
We are a team who’s clutching at straws. We struggled against a bang average team arteta is going to keep making the same mistakes and seems thinks everything is ok. We were lucky
A bang average side that were unlucky not to beat City and beat Brighton away at the weekend. Played against their first 11 with a makeshift back 4 for half the game, a 17 year old as a playmaker for 45 minutes. I'm not sure what some people expect. 2nd half with some regular starters on the pitch took them apart.
Thanks @CharlesWatts if this was your final report of 2024. I love the work that you do and it’s a very welcome moment when I sit down and listen to your balanced views which is the complete opposite to all the polarising click bate spew that the internet presents. Thank you ❤️🤍 With respect to the game, I am wondering did you pick up on the subtle, yet pivot (in my opinion), when Palace tried to bully 5 yards off of us on the placement of a free kick? Jesus highlighted this to the ref who also saw this, but Eze, Hughes and another stood fast and the ref yielded. I’m thinking that may have been the moment the lit the touch paper for Jesus. Just a thought and how I read the game. #COYG #EiE #Ou2B 🎅🏽
First time watching Arsenal at the Emirates. Living in Thailand. It was a special night!
Thank you for helping the atmosphere mate
I'm glad you got to witness Arsenal winning, at home.
Loved Tierney playing and what a difference he made in the left!!!
I was also glad to see him get some minutes.
I thought he made a few errors though, wasn't at his best.
I agree it was great to see him back. There are just a few moments where he hooks the ball instead of passing his way out which is probably why Arteta doesn’t favour him.
Hope he can stay fit now though.
@chrispalmer7778 isn't he injured now?
Going to celtic
TO have the confidence to just chip the goalie, considering his form, is a massive credit to Jesus...
Agreed. I loved to see it, that striker instinct took over!
Loved the way Jesus gave Henderson the eyes and sent him the wrong way for the third goal.
Charlie Patino mugged off Henderson the same way.
Jesus was really really prolific last night. Come On You Gunners, Nicholas Nyemba from Zambia.
I'll never forget our opening game of the season against palace 2022 when it all JUST clicked
Jesus with that crazy jinking run
Great video Charles. Good win last night. I won't go as far to say Gabby Jesus is back, though it's a good thing he scored those goals last night. This weekend's match will be nothing like last night. I'll still want Havertz to start by the weekend.
The last arsenal v Liverpool vs cup final( cardiff) wssant that when michask Owen scored twice late on and stole the trophy
Jesus should be our starting striker for the next few games, we might as well capitalise on this form while it lasts, also i would start trossard too
For some reason I want to see a front 3 of Jesus Havertz Saka, I just believe the press would be immense the threat as well
You have to think that Martinelli’s form will improve with Jesus in the side, so I’d be very happy to see him in the side if Jesus remains as the no.9
Charles I’m worried our squad looks so skinny. Several of our squad players just aren’t up to it !
Arteta don't think so. Crazy he thought we could compete in average competition this season with this squad

Totally love this prediction

Shillings was shite

Hi Charles , totally agree Jesus on Havertz on the bench I really hope he does it. And then find a left winger in January if possible . Jon
We need the Jesus Martinelli partnership back with some overlaps from KT or Merino.
Hope we can continue to see them all together this weekend.
The second half blew away just how worrying the first half was. Forgot to say now great Nketia’s goal was 👍
I think one thing to note too. Jesus didnt keep coming back into midfield all game. He actually made striker runs around/behind the line
Chalobah did actually get a touch on the ball so that's probably why Jesus didn't go down.
I would play Jesus left wing the weekend
Who knew that an overlapping LB would've brought us so much joy on the left side who knew🙄. Martinelli and Trossard does ve straving for their LB to make an overlap. It would help out the left sided attacking so tremendously.

Havertz & Jesus could become the new Toshack Keegan combination. They were brilliant together
Thought the supporters were great last night. Best atmosphere so far this season at the Emirates (not just second half)
Am so happy Jesus bounced back with a hat trick. Confidence restored. He should be first choice noe coz what he did Havertz in unable to do
Tomiyasu has missed more football due to injury. I hope Tierney stays fit and we offer him a new contract. He is versatile and can play LCB (better than Kiwior) as well.

Great content as always. COYG.
2001 FA Cup final sprang to mind when you said Arsenal/Liverpool final…😢 😢
6 is quite generous for Trossard
I think the difference is, Crystal wanted to play football with us. Usually we struggle against low blocks.
Saliba is immense. If there is one slight weakness though it is when that ball beats the LCB in the air. He seems a bit slow to react. Same thing happened against Newcastle if I’m remembering right.

Ødegaard has next level vision! Truly special
Praying Jesus turns into prime R9
3 goals for the 3 wisemen... 🎄
Hey Sir what, Arsenal and Liverpool played the 2001 Fa Fuo final.. Michael Owne broke my heart that day
I'm pleased for Jesus... but one hatrick wouldn't stop me buying in January
I think you're probably gonna be disappointed, particularly if you're expecting a Gyokeres type signing.
@martinharvey2390 I'm not expecting anything. I've been an arsenal fan for 40+ years, I'm used to the disappointment lol
Im not sure if you are talking about league cup finals only CW - but i remember the 2001 FA cup final when Owen had that crazy game.
He was saying 'at Wembley'...the 2001 final was in Cardiff.😊
People worrying about Ethan getting subbed need to chill. I care about winning trophies more than his confidence
I think Arteta has gone a touch too conservative this season tbh. I think it stems from him thinking our forwards can't score enough goals, which is a bit weird giving the numbers we score. Charles I didn't hear you mention the great win for the women's team last night.
Liverpool 2001 , when both ref and linesman needed to go to specsavers, should have had a player sent off and a penalty , before Michael Owen scored two late goals.
We would watch a day in the life of Charles, watching you completer errands.
Just attach a camera to yourself and set up a live stream
Why did Eddie Nketiah never win a header like that for us?
coz the guy grew a few inches with that new hair do.
He did, you don't remember his towering headed goal against Man Utd ?
Where's Keown? Gyokeres has recorded a higher sprint speed than Martinelli this season and Martinelli is probably the fastest Arsenal player...
Baby announcement for Jesus maybe cleared his mind. Why was Timber going forward when the ball was kicked toward Kiwior & Mattas?!?
Can’t believe you forgot the Michael Owen final Charles. Still
Haunts me now
That wasn’t Wembley. Trust me, I’ll never forget that one either….
Are you having a giraffe wattage trying to tell a 14 year old like Dowman that bedtime is 7:30pm !? 😂🎅
Start Jesus LW against place this weekend?
Let’s go!!!!

Apart from this game tell the "most important player" to produce regular
@@tarik4684If you don't think Odegaard performs regular, you've been watching way too much rival football channels
@@tarik4684 If you don't believe Odegaard performs regularly, then you've been watching way too much rival channels on UA-cam 🙄
We need to extend Jorginho for one more year. I prefer Jorginho between him and partey such an intelligent footballer
Charles, we're gonna miss you. Because i get most of my data's from you. But understand. I hope we hear from you soon.
I thought Palace was the perfect team for Tierney to play against
“Traditional” LB getting back and doing his bit in defence.
Few over laps and whips into the box
Genuinely thought he had a great game
Arsenal on course for the quadruple .
1st half was frustrating to watch how scrabbling the game play was
Sterlings best game for us, not great but he tried at least.
Charles have you blocked out the Fa cup where pool got away with handball off the line and Owen scored to win it for them. 2001 I think
That wasn't at Wembley.
@ sorry must of missed the Wembley part. My bad I thought it was cup final
Martin Eli must also start coz Troussard not good enough
I'm not surprised you've purged the 2001 robbery against the scousers from your memory.
Havertz will start on Saturday, he is fresh and ready, his height v them will help
Wow really charles? Your telling a player to simulate. Lastly merino is average and wasted funds.
We lost to Liverpool at the millennium stadium in the fa cup
Trossard deserves 7
18:36 fa cup final 2001 the two hand balls lose 2-1 i think or 1-0
Arsenal inability to put together a good 90 minutes will keep costing them. Too many games its one good half then one bad. First half was the same theme despite the changes, slow and ponderous which shows it is more of a coaching thing than an individual player problem.
About Tierney, how come arsenal can't wait to offload him because of while they are still clinging on to Tomiyasu?
Tomiyasu is strong on his right foot and left foot, he can play right across the backline
@@reisssato902 Yeah right! When was the last time he did that?
Turn to Jesus and he will save you
Arteta's treatment of Tierney is really poor disgusting. Shameful
That was schoolboy defending from Kiwior , he's really not good enough , I hope these Napoli rumors are true , he needs to leave the club
We are a team who’s clutching at straws. We struggled against a bang average team arteta is going to keep making the same mistakes and seems thinks everything is ok. We were lucky
