LOL Das your voice-over for the Korath was better than mine!
The Korath are SO strong in the game now. They lost their -50% Manufacturing and Research penalties, and the Spore ships and their insane Soldiering make them horribly strong in warfare.

it's hard to tell what's new in the 2.2 update and what's new in the dlc you have access to
The DLC adds around 75 new events, with 25 new events that add a series of unique Improvements for the Core Civilizations, and honestly these are a lot better than they sound. It also adds three defensive ship components and another exclusively for the Drengin, and two Executive Orders for the Mimot and other Prolific custom civs. There's some other stuff in there too, I think new research projects. The Return of the Korath comes with it too, as you can see here.
Holy cow your home planet spawned with a Precursor archive. I don’t think I’ve ever gotten one on my homeworld ever.
In your intro you imply an upcoming change to the combat. Perhaps I misunderstood what you were saying?
This is true, combat is undergoing some changes right now, and we can expect the system to be improved more over the coming months.
