I can ride anything at BGT. But falcon's fury is the one ride I'm too terrified to ride. I don't like drop towers in general, but falcon's fury looks extra scary.

I rode Kingda Ka before Falcon's Fury and BGT was my home park for a decade

after first try, falcon's fury is easy, the fear goes away, but I was terrified at the first time ngl

Honesty it’s not really the height that scares me it’s the fact that when it tilts you start slipping and it always scares the hell out of me.

There are only 2 rides that I can think of that genuinely scared me. Falcon's Fury is one, the other is Skyrush. I was able to get myself room on Skyrush last year, and I was genuinely afraid of how much room I had. That ride is insanely aggressive, and when you hit that first drop and have plenty of room between you and the restraint, it's a whole different game. Scared me a little each time, but that's why it's also my favorite coaster ever built.
If you give yourself room, though, be smart about it. Don't give yourself an actually unsafe amount, if that's even possible. I had room, but was still safely strapped into the ride, I wasn't actually going anywhere, just saying.

Nice video, very unique! I agree with all choices in the video, especially Phoenix though! I was thinking about it and hoping it would be on the list. 🤞 Your comments about it were so accurate!
Ironically, when my dad and I first rode Phoenix, we were like "Is that safe?" 😂 That airtime is crazy. Feels like you are almost standing sometimes! 🤭🤭🤭 It is genuinely a super fun ride though! 😊

I think falcons fury is overhyped a bit, the real scariest drop tower is hurukan condor at port aventura, specifically the standup floorless tilting cars. The tilting to face the ground seems scary on paper, but in execution you don’t t the same stomach drop feeling as on other drop towers, I haven’t ridden hurukan condor, I have ridden a smaller version called apocalypse, which used to be at Drayton manor, sitting on a bike seat, tilted 15* you can see the floor below you with your feet dangling in front of it. And when dropping, you get the stomach drop, along with you feet racing toward the ground, is the most primal fear I have ever felt on a ride. Apocalypse is already much scarier than falcons flight whilst just being over half the height. Imagine how scary hurukan condor would be at almost 400ft tall whilst doing the same thing

So I haven't been scared of a coaster since I was a little kid. Drop towers still make me nervous but i still love them. But starflyers genuinely scare me. It's not just the height, it's the chains. Traditional spinning swings use thick industrial chains to hold your seat up. But the chains that connect to the seats on Starflyers look like cheap necklaces. Yes, I know they're safe in my brain. But once I'm on them (especially the 400 foot models) my rational brain just shuts off and I panic. I really feel like my life might end. Windseekers make me nervous but nothing compared to Starflyers.
The other scariest ride I've ever been on is an unusual choice but it's Pteranodon Flyer. Hear me out. You can only ride this with a child. But have you seen the restraint? My daughter was three when she rode in the front seat and you basically have a high lap bar and a fairly unimpressive seat belt. And the adult riding is so far back that they can't reach the child if they choose to do something stupid. If my daughter had decided to untucked her legs from the seatbelt (which I'm telling you wouldn't be super complicated) then it would basically be like a three year old riding a quick moving Ski lift by themselves. She was fine, and I guess kids aren't generally trying to escape their chain while on a ride. But sometimes kids do dumb stuff so I was terrified.
I other words, I wasn't afraid for my own safety but I was afraid my kid would just try and make a break for it.

I'm not big on flat rides, but when I went to BGT, I had to get on Falcon's Fury because it's, well, Falcon's Fury. I'm not scared of heights; I have Orion at my home park. But damn, I thought I was going to die.

@@ThemeParkAvenue I got a similar feeling my most recent ride on Manta at SWO. It was my first ride since the new penguin trek track was fully completed so i realized just how close to penguin trek you really get like that’s “dueling” capability! Just like how kraken and mako get close and “duel” too depending on proper dispatch timing from both rides

I don't know if it's just me but roundups absolutely terrify me, standing in a spinning cage that tilts up around 50 - 70 degrees, with nothing but a chain in front of you? I see them at tons of fairs, and I'm pretty sure there's never been an accident on one, mainly because physics never fail, but they'll always scare me so much for some reason.

for #3 you pretty much just explained why Phoenix is has been repeatedly voted the best wooden coaster in the world.
Also, for lean-forward drop towers, i think it's scarier because that same model did have a fatal accident recently in Florida, so there's the nagging thought in the back of your mind.

I’ve never been on a ride that genuinely scared me. I guess Blazing Fury was kinda scary considering it was dark and there were some random drops. Grizzly was also kinda scary. I rode in the time that it was so rough that it felt like the whole structure was shaking when it was doing the turn out of the station, so that was a little scary. My sister’s seatbelt also came off on Jack Rabbit at Kennywood which was really scary for her, but I would’ve loved if that happened when I rode. My restraint also fully came up on Raptor when I was going up the lifthill, so me being an enthusiast idiot decided to give myself about three clicks of room which was a bit scary. Idk, I’ve never really felt like I was gonna die though.

I went on falcons fury for the first time this past February. I had a few drinks under me so this was easy, fun, thrilling and just a little scary. 🙂
However, tatsu at six flags magic mountain TERRIFIES me everytime. Its sooooo high and talk about relying on the restraints. 😅

I've been on Falcon's Fury, the best scariest drop tower I've been on, but how does it compare to those drop towers that only has a seatbelt? I know there's one in Pigeon Forge in TN and there is/was one on the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk, SC.
