Elephant destroys my car

A wild elephant smashed my car. This incident happened outside of the town of Tissamaharma near the famous Yala National Park in the country of Sri Lanka. Luckily no one was injured during this attack. I did not realize that people had trained the elephants by giving them food every time they passed by. There was a sign that read “Do not feed the animals” so I did the right thing and obeyed. However, I noticed other vehicles throwing food as they raced passed the elephant. Apparently, there is a mandatory offering that must be made to the elephant. Any passing vehicle that does not throw food at the elephant will cause the elephant to get angry and attack their vehicle. I wish I had known this beforehand. Another observer of this video theorized that this male elephant was in heat and therefore more aggressive at the time.
Any money that is made from this video will help pay for the extensive damages to the vehicle. Thank you for watching.
Human-elephant conflicts (HEC) are one of the biggest crises in rural Sri Lanka. Ad-Hoc development projects carried out over past years have threatened the habitat of elephants living in the wild.
Wild Elephants charge at villages in search of harvested food that is stored inside of people's homes. In 2002, 5 people lost their lives in only 2 days in rural areas of Sri Lanka.
It is reported that wild elephants caused serious damage to 10 houses and a school in the Kalu-Ebe village in the town of Kekirawa, Sri Lanka.
Why is it that the authorities have not been able to find any solution to the Human-Elephant conflict that could have prevented these incidents?
I had many expenses to film these videos. Please do not steal my video content. I will report you. I actually traveled all the way to these countries to make these videos. I helped to pay for the car repairs to the vehicle that was smashed in this video, I paid for flights, I paid for hotel rooms, I paid safari guides to take me to these locations to see these animals. I also paid for the electronic equipment. I took a lot of risks traveling to bring you these amazing videos.

People give food to the elephant while driving in the road. This elephant is a bit tame for people. Foreigners don't know about this big boy, so they stop their cars suddenly😢. i think you guys are okay🤗❤. sorry for the damage 🙏😔
