Yall been cranking videos out and I cant get enough of it thanks Miss Erica for all the work you put into editing these videos they seem to get better and better every times 👍
What an interesting video. Loved hearing the whole break down of weight and costs and how you figure out profit/loss. Really makes a person appreciate all the work ranchers/farmers put into the food we eat. Good work Clancy, can hardly wait to hear how you did with the judge. ❤❤
I enjoy y'all showing how the cattle are figured up. So many people don't understand all this. Most people think you make a lot of money but it all depends on everything figured up. The more you put into them the less you get back. I enjoy all the education
Hello from Alabama. You may have mentioned it at some point since you bought the steers, but I was curious if you knew the age of the steers at finish weight?
I have idea for merch... Cody throwing up hands with cattle with caption of HEY! I would first check make sure uncle si Duck Dynasty doesn't have it trademarked.
Question for you guys. So I have had family member small operation that had grass fed beef and it was some of the best ground meat I have ever had. With that said what is better from a standpoint of running a operation like yours speaking monetary.
Not necessarily. Your initial cost and weight of the steer plays a big part also. For example if a steer weighs 749 and it’s priced at 2.45 starting cost is $1835.05 whereas a steer starting at 751 priced at 2.35 starting cost is $1764.85 a difference if $70.20. That means the 751# steer could gain less weight (to a certain point) and still make more money than the 749# steer if they sale for the same price per pound because he cost $70.20 less to begin with.
1,2,3,5 I couldn't help it all through the video.Different scenarios of why it's not one through four kept going through my head. I'm sure it's nothing. The next set will probably go 4,6,7 I just hope this comment will allow my brain to let it go.
The contest is not about grooming. Trying to keep them clean would be a daily job that would just put stress on the animal and in turn make them less productive. The dirt isn’t hurting them.

Glad it was helpful!

Great job!
Thanks!
That’s crazy! One of the calves exactly doubled his weight (720/1440)!!
Pretty cool!
Some good information
Thanks for watching!
If feed time and total cost of feed is the same for all isn’t your top calf always going to be your one with the most gain?
Not necessarily. Your initial cost and weight of the steer plays a big part also. For example if a steer weighs 749 and it’s priced at 2.45 starting cost is $1835.05 whereas a steer starting at 751 priced at 2.35 starting cost is $1764.85 a difference if $70.20. Are them Angus bulls, show bulls or no
Lode out?????? 😂
Pretty funny 😂
What's y'all's favorite breed of cattle
The kind that make the most profit 😉
Angus!!!
HEREFORD!
Shouldn't you add the shrink to the weight not take it away? Doesn't that mean that steer #1 weighed 38 pounds more when you loaded him?
No. Packers “shrink” your cattle from their live weight. Shrink is the amount of weight your cattle lose in transport. Packers don’t pay for that.
calf have scours??
They have a looser stool on this diet.

4 is in a different pen. We decided to cut him out early on.
1st In ! Woo Hoo ! Pay Day !
Thanks for always being here Kevin!
remi ds of FFA we had to do recorder keeping
It’s a great experience!
I’d use excel
The kids have to be able to calculate these things on their own with a calculator and paper and pencil on a test for the competition.
Is there a reason to not keep them more clean on the hind end? Wouldn't it keep the Flys down? Just not worth the time?
The contest is not about grooming. Trying to keep them clean would be a daily job that would just put stress on the animal and in turn make them less productive. The dirt isn’t hurting them.
👍
Doesn't seem like a very good profit by the time you think of labor and fuel, break down
Welcome to ranching!
